Todd Talks DLC With Kotaku

Different team, different project. That being said, I think Obsidian offered some pretty compelling content for New Vegas.

We can't wait to share more of what we're working on for Skyrim.
I can't wait.

Which makes me think - why not give vampires the love? I've always cured myself of vampirism pronto because it seems such a waste of time. A vampire perk tree could have, say, resistance to sunlight, a perk that reduces/eliminates vulnerability to fire, bolsters spells. Vampirism 100 = vampire lord.
Go on bethesda - a vampire perk tree could make vampirism worthwhile.
A guy from bethesda said on this forum that They were going to show vampire perk tree/skill in the gamejam video too :) But they didnt,They had more stuff to show but we didnt get to see everything.

One thing I hated about Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Yay, dlc, let's start a new character. Get out of the first dungeon, oh look, a load of seriously important letters in my pocket, that neither I nor the guards noticed in my prison rags, or, leave the Vault, suddenly remember I know all about a boat to Point Lookout, that I found out about in a sealed and highly censorious environment, and look, the Outcasts are broadcasting their position across the wasteland, the Enclave will never find out.

Please, please let our characters come across any new content in a believable manner. I am even going to use the dread word 'immersion' in this case.

New vegas also dosent have 10 million people playing it.
Neither was it made by bethesda.

Looking forward for a new shivering isle's type expansion.

Well yes, they're a business
On the other hand if part of the gameplan for keeping fans enthused and loyal is some free content everybody benefits, even the cynics who refuse to buy any DLC

... I know... I meant that it would have been nice for Bethesda who was the publisher to give Obsidian this support since they screwed them over with the original deadline.

[edit]

"What do you mean screwed them over?"
They gave Obsidian a very short deadline and they ended up having to cut a lot of stuff just to meet it and then the game when it came out was really buggy. (And Bethesda handled the QA)
Bethesda had the choice to postpone the release date a couple of months so that Obsidian could have met the deadline with all the planned content but chose not to.

Yet with Skyrim they had what? 3 to 5 years to develop the game and now they're gonna release at least 2 expansions and continue to support it through and through with more content?

New Vegas was not finished, and they could have post poned it's release date but didn't.
J.E Sawyer said he wanted to add 3 more Legion locations but couldn't. Imagine if Bethesda had given this support to Obsidian about post-release content?

Has anything bad in an Obsidian game ever been their fault?I believe the problems in KOTOR 2 was Lucasarts fault.Who got the blame for NWN 2 bugs?

I actually like most of Obsidians games. It's the really devoted fans of Obsidian that get kind of tiring.

Yep it's just as annoying as all the really devoted Fan-Boy bethesda fans.

I totally agree with you. It's nice to see Beth talking about DLC and expansion packages but what about the glitches that they fail to correct? Glich fix first.

Why is it rude for Earthlinger to express his feelings? Sorry but I support the idea that Beth fix up these terrible glitches and bugs before they release the DLC or any other big expansion packages that they have plan for the future. Some glitches prevents the player from continuing the quests. I can only feel for those who plays the game in console... since their unable to use console command to fix these forsaken glitches. They must wait until theirs a patch.. It can take months to obtain.

You may not encounter glitches but wait until it happens to you... Your whole demeanor will soon change.

oh and on the article it mentions:

"It looks like a ton of stuff that could ship right now," he admitted, "but it's in a sizzle video. It's, you know, it's not bug-tested, polished, balanced." He thinks it shows off the creativity of his team and says that some of it is being worked on, but don't take that as the blueprint for the expansions."

So you see it may look all great... but it's probably loaded up with bugs just as Earthlinger explained.

So hang on, the creative designers, artists, animators, etc, all have to sit on their asses and do [censored] all for all we're concerned while the programmers work out the bugs and kinks with the game? Sounds like a terrible use of [censored] resources and man-power if you ask me. You realize the entire Skyrim project staff isn't working in the QA or programming department right? So while the programmers work on fixing the bugs, the rest of the team can, well you know, develop content? Or does that sound to [censored] realistic.

uh, yeah, like I said, quote me where todd said that the dlc will be fundamentally different (which would include adding SKILLS in the dlc, which has *never* been done)

They also have never added decapitation in any of there vanilla TES game

but with skyrim, its different :)

A DLC is a DLC, no matter the content or what platform it's for. They didn't have to release anything. Yet they did, which is a good indication that they will deliver on their word.

True, sorry but I'm a little sceptical of PS3 getting anything. Xbox and PC probably but not PS3 or not at least for 30 days after Xbox.

Only thing they deliver on anymore is gutting the series into a sorry shell of its former self.
