I have never heard that saying before(did you just make it up?)but that really is the best phrase to sum this game up I have heard to date.

I read someone use it here, and found it quite fitting myself (and my second point was modified to fit Skyrim, well all of Beths games i've played really, from what reads on the back of The Witcher's box "No good and evil. Only choices and consequences.")

Since when has Block ever been part of Hand-To-Hand?
Daggerfall? Shields were just Armor Bonus, no Block skill at all.
Morrowind? Block required a Shield, which went away when you raised your hands to fight with your fists.
Oblivion? Blocking didn't reduce incoming damage, and only staggered enemies if you were a Journeyman in Block.
I was thinking of Oblivion.
And yes, I know that you couldn't block against weapons, but there was a disarm strike which would help you even the odds.
At least it was something.

What are yours?

Mine:

1. Random meaningless mission generator

2. No major enhancements in gameplay - still just talk and slash

3. No guns, but magic? I want guns in elders, not fallout.

Umm. I like the Radient AI quests and no I do not want guns in my TES. That is what Fallout is for, thank you very much.

My three complaints are:

1. Not enough info in the gameworld to complete quests without peeking at the quest arrow.

2. You cannot disable the compass, compass markers or sneak crosshair without also turning off the stamina/health/magicka bars.

3. There's no spellcrafting.

Actually you could block incoming damage in Oblivion using just your hands. See the discussion here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion_talk:Block#Hand-to-hand_Blocking It was not much of a damage reduction but there was definately some damage reduction. Tested it myself on the Xbox. And of course, you could still get the stagger with hand blocking.

  • Most of the quests are terrible and have little variety.
  • There's a lack of player choice and meaningful consequences.
  • The voice actors are fairly annoying.
  • Beast races are barely present and are hardly given any consideration in terms of how armor looks on them.
  • Shallow gameplay.
  • Lack of interesting, worthwhile, nice looking gear.
  • Most of the gear looks like something a clown would wear.
  • Tons of glitches.

3. DO YOU GET TO THE CLOUD DISTRICT VERY OFTEN? OH WHAT AM I SAYING, OF COURSE YOU DON'T.

No directions. "Can't miss it, barrow North of Ivarstead" in quest log would be enough.

Kill the guy, get the staff, or, let the guy live, don't get a staff. Why aren't there loads more instances like this?

How hard would these be : "I suppose there's someone fetching the mead for you now." "You're the one who secured victory for that dog, Ulfric", followed by the whole Imperial camp attacking. "Are you mad, why would the Arch mage be asking a bartender where they can learn about magic?"

I took it as them foes are troublesome for him, I could be wrong.

They definitely are not the most loveable creatures either.

1. The Fact that I knew VA was going to limit quests and such in the game. Unrealistic I know but it would be better if it was just text and you actually had to read. Again I know unrealistic but hey I can dream right?

2. Vampires svck and werewolves svck don't think I need to explain much more.

3. World is not as detailed as I would like it.

I don't buy it. The voice acting is not the limiting factor for the quests. Not when multiple voice actors are saying the exact same lines.

1. Lack of recognition. Some dialog changes, but not enough to have real impact.
2. Consequences. I usually don't mind not having any, but in this game something like that would help add to the RP factor.
3. The AI needs help. Wish they were more than trap/arrow to the back finders.

You want guns? Really?! Are you high or something, this is high fantasy, not Science fiction.

My most annoying thing would be the blocky faces. They just make the faces look last gen.

1) Citizen pvssyr. I'm tired of hearing the same comments every time I pass by someone.

2) Giant Cliff Racers interrupting my adventure constantly.

3) Can't cast spells while having both hands equip with items. Having to pause and unequip one hand, then equip it with magic is tiresome. I miss how you could just cast your spells on the fly like in Morrowind and Oblivion.
