Yes but it's a different story when you have a passion for modding and your own personal projects vs paying someone to do it for you. Besides this is all pure speculation. I'd bet my money that the CK is and has been for a while deemed ready for release. The holdbacks now are likely integration with steam and associated maintenance, again - speculation.

On another note, I've actually wondered about the beta testers last week and before - if you personally were beta testing and experienced say 10 issues ( everything from misspelled words to desired features) would you post them knowing full well that it would delay the kit for the rest of us? To clarify what I mean is that if the beta kit was functional and could do 95% of what the typical modder would require of it to make a mod, would you try to get them to include this and that if it meant delaying it for another week?

I'd report them, but realize that they're not going to be fixed. Look at the 1.4 patch, it had a public beta and some issues that were reported went through anyway.

Still worth a try. For all we know he will read it tomorrow morning when he comes into work, read to the devs, and the CK is out by lunch. Of course, that's a super crazy best case scenario, but it's got a higher chance of happening then if I don't write him anything...
I'm pretty sure if it did show up at lunch time it would have been a decision someone higher up already made. There's not a lot of call for spur of the moment decision making at a major company.

So how much more powerful is the new CK in comparison the the old Oblivion CS?

Will this simply make the process of making mods much easier or will it actually provide tools that modders do not have access to? Other than the standard stuff like scripts.

So nobody read the quote in the OP I'm guessing, and that's why I'm getting all this?

Gstaff said tomorrow was a possibility and if it pushed over it would go to next week. That's very much so a statement of 'it depends on how fast we work' not a 'it depends on what big brother says'. I'm simply trying to make them less likely to go "Ehhhh, lets wait till next week." This isnt a "I'm blatantly trying to make them release it out of the blue." kind of thing...

more likely it's a statement of "it depends on when Steam pushes it to their content servers"

I noticed no donate button.

I was looking forward to be able to support the bigger mods with steamwallet support.

You can gift Steam Wallet items to the author shown on the mod detail page, I guess? We'll need to see the ToS of the workshop before knowing if that's against the rules.

This happens almost instantly; the holdup isn't from there.

Personally, I wouldn't count on it.

Edit: Just had a peek in tools and it's not there yet.

It's only 7.30 in Maryland so we've got a while before it's not out today ;)

Generally when they announce something through the blog it ends up being around 12pm to 4pm in their time zone. It's only 8:30am now so I'd say give it about 8 hours until we can be sure it's not out today.

It's just a guess, but I think they might have weekends off. So they don't want to release something and then not be there for the two days after if support is needed.

Aye, Gstaff said if it's not today, it's next week. So today it simply must be. There is no other option. Right, Bethesda?

That's kind of a pessimistic way of looking at it. A better way to look at it would be:

"They probably rush-launched the patch because they can't release the CK without it, and people whine a lot when stuff doesn't happen exactly as they estimate."

Edit: Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for the CK to come out. But I wouldn't be surprised if this had something to do with it. That and/or they have a lot on their plate so they are missing some things (Hopefully, if this is the case, it's because they are focusing on the wiki / CK stuff, and I'm sure the workshop )

Any of you noticed that all the talk (Bethblog, twitters and moderators) about the closed beta is in the past tense now? So it seems like that beta is over since 1.4 was released. I guess (or rather hope) that bug fixing is done for now, and they are currently preparing it for release to the masses... Whatever that may require.
