Gstaff on whether the CK will come out today or not:

Not likely.

And if it's not up tomorrow, it'll probably shift to next week.

Title seems a bit off seeing as how that topic didn't last more than a page or two ;)

Actually no, I was gone for like 10 minutes cooking lunch, came back and saw the old thread locked and no new thread. I want to discuss more so I threw up a second thread real fast.

God I cannot wait. I'm so hyper.

Thats to keep things clean. Instead of remember, it was post # 19382 of the topic, you can remember, oh it was somewhere on page two of thread 23.

And yeah title may be a little off, but I'm too excited to care! If a mod wants to change it to like 'CK pre-release discussion' or something, feel free to do so. :D

Anyone do screenshots of the trailer yet? There's some juicy stuff in the wiki section (scale and dim lights dynamically with shortcuts! You guys spoil me ), which was new for me.

I really want to know if anythings going to not be included. IE - > 3rd party involvement in the game, lip syncing, etc. that they cannot include.

It's to keep the server from croaking on trying to pull up a massive list of past posts in a thread. On one forum I used to frequent, weird stuff happened when we hit 1k+ and the maintainers had to sort it out. Took a day or so to figure it out.

This. Kinda.

The flu is preventing me from being anything more than lethargic at the moment. But if I wasn't sick I'm sure I'd be happier than the dancing banana

EDIT: That wiki is going to be a godsend. It looks much more comprehensive than the CS Wiki.

God yes. I'm going to have over 3000 lines of dialogue in my mod, I'd really really like to have lipsynching built in...

I'm still a little confused as to how one downloads the finalized patch.

Does anyone notice the lip syncing ingame significantly improved? it could indicate a new software (in house hopefully!) being used - therefore we will have access to it! Doesn't leave the out the possibility of it being copywrited and third party

Gstaff said aparantly they were having a few issues. People opted into the beta may or may not have gotten it or something. They are looking into it.

I also considered this as they are now packed together (lip and audio) into another weird format. I wonder if this had anything to do with them wanting to get us the lip tech this time. I certainly hope so!

Steam does it automatically if you haven't turned off updating.

I guess I'm just spoiled by reddit, where you can have 5 billion comments on one thread without issue... Oh well. I wonder if this forum will go quiet for a few hours when everyone is delving into the CK :D

I think it's more of an organizational thing than a tech issue at this point. A new thread gives the chance to get back on topic (or to refine the topic), let's people jump into the discussion, makes recapping easier, and just looks nicer. Reddit works (sort of) because of the +/- system, but regular forums don't sort that way.

Personally, I'm hoping the CK is released on Friday, so that I can devote the weekend to messing with it.

Doubt it. More like, "Anyone figure out ?" or "It includes !" etcetera.

It's going to explode. Look, just with this video on the CK, it has almost 400 active users at once. Before today it roamed at MAYBE 200 tops. When the CK is released it will shoot to like 500 constantly. Generally it then becomes the new people asking, the experiences helping, and occassionaly the experienced asking about new stuff, and everyone helping. :D
