CK Trailer Discussion #2

more likely it's a statement of "it depends on when Steam pushes it to their content servers"
Steam doesn't decide when to release a product. That's always handled by the publisher.

Patience, grasshopper. If it's pushed to next week, what's a few more days? It's coming, that's all that really matters.

It's only 7.30 in Maryland so we've got a while before it's not out today
Yeah guys, they don't go home until somewhere around 6-8pm their time zone. (EST) It could still very well be today, though if this trend continues, it won't be. :F

Kudos to Alexander for at least attempting to get them to release it today, consider me a cosigner on that letter to gstaff.
Thanks! I should let you all know that he replied and said it's about when they get everything coordinated and approved. So, little we can do, but it may go up today. It's a possibility.

whats a few more days? It's the difference between getting to mod this weekend, and being bored enough to watch the superbowl in the hopes of an entertaining commercial. The superbowl, man. Do you know what football does to my brain cells!? Won't someone please think of my brain cells and release the CK!?!?!?!

ahem... okay, carry on.

No, not really. In the grand scheme of things, it really makes little difference. It's coming soon, and that's really all that matters. In the world of software, and computing in general, patience is very much needed.

At the very least, if they decided not to release it today, it would be great if Gstaff or somebody else could inform us that it will not be coming out today so I can stop refreshing the Bethblog homepage every three minutes.

You can already stop. I use RSS feeds to keep track of ~60 websites at a time. It helps a lot. ;)

Personally, I wish there was an individual feed for each forum over here but it's minor. :)

I would at least like them to consider that if they can't release the CK today, then maybe they could give us a bone and let us have the CK Wiki to chew on over the weekend. What with the new scripting language and all, it would really be nice to start studying the new stuff.

These things gotta go through the pipeline. 3 months ago, there was still work to be done on it. It was not ready and shouldn't have been released. Patches take priority over this, as well. There's a lot of other stuff involved here, which people just aren't thinking about. Patience, it will come. It's just a matter of time, but it will come. It doesn't matter when it comes, really. The only thing that matters is that it does come.

Everyone needs to learn some patience. It's going to be released when they are done with it, and I don't really want it before then. I would rather it be ready than released early.

> They release an unfinished / buggy game, everyone complains / rants / basically wants to go to war.
> They delay the CK claiming to be fixing it, making documentation and the workbench thing (While no one really wants it, I'm sure the documentation and fixing up the CK takes more time than the workbench. Probably different teams working on them at the same time as well.), in general doing what a lot of us would like them to be doing with it (aside from the aforementioned workbench) . Everyone craps bricks and says they need to release it now, almost no matter what.

That makes a whole lot of sense...

The world, especially software world, does not revolved around your (community as a whole) anxiousness / weekend plans / irresponsibly planned vacations/"Sick days".

Honestly...is it not enough that yesterday he said it would be unlikely that it would be out yesterday. And if it's not up tommorow(today), then sometime next week..? That not his usual hang-man-cryptic-classical PR response. If it's not today, then next week is the last week. If he wasn't sure about that, he wouldn't have said that.

I'm sure BGS is feeling this way right now: Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Bickering and whinning shall commence, as the course of the day coasts onward without the CK :/

Pretty much the point in my last post. Release the game early, people complain it's not working right / fixed / whatever. Demand patches, patches take time and effort. Delay the CK claiming to be fixing it / having to spend time making patches for the game / etc, people complain they are taking too long and need to release it (essentially) early.

Pretty stupid circle if you ask me, and based on a whim of peoples boredom and selfishness, and general inability to find something else to do.

Me, and everyone I know, are fine waiting for them to get done with it. It's not that big of a deal; if it comes out today then great, If not, oh well.
