CK Trailer Discussion #2

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 1:36 pm

1.4 is out and updating. Could this be a chance for Bethesda to entirely redeem themselves? Well they were pretty fantastic in my book for bringing the game out and doing what they have with the series, though I still maintain their communication with the community here was at best half hearted, at worst a second thought. Fingers crossed that the CK is actually "not far behind" and not dragging up the distant rear like an asthmatic ant carrying a brick. And please dont let this wait have been for something stripped of decent features, that would put the last nail in the coffin.

Fingers well and truly crossed. They have been a pretty fantastic company so far, please dont let this be the end of that.

I am so excited for this, if only to see what people can come up with when they have the real CK to play with.

Also, I can't wait to play around with it myself and build myself a nice little lair. :twirl:

Hopefully the CK arrives tomorrow, that'd make me quite pleased--I don't want to be a sad panda again.
I hope it comes out today =P

I wish it would come out today but based on the reports from GStaff i doubt it would be today. Really really hoping for tomorrow though.

Is there a video somewhere that doesn't require you to login?

Oh I may have linked through the wrong part, just search for 'Creation Kit & Skyrim Workshop Preview' on youtube. I'll fix the link, too.

You have the right link, the video is flagged as Mature since its linked to skyrim so YouTube makes you login.

The Bethblog embedded video doesn't have an age check. (Least it didn't for me.)

Skyrim doesn't use Facegen. I don't think we've been shown how the CS handles the face parts, but I imagine it's similar to MW's Bodypart tab.

The new scripting language looks interesting. Looks like a mix between the old one and C++.

Anyone know how to play the video back at half speed? They jump from one thing to the next so fast, i can't get a good look at anything.

Which was probably the point. :whistling:

If you don't mind reddit, you can check the comment section there. People have disected the trailer bit by bit. =P. The comments are more entertaining than the trailer itself.

Hopefully we can at least import textures for faces

The conversation trees look excellent - should make it far more easier to manage complex conversations with multi-choice options

There may be an easier way, but as a last resort you could create a custom race with your new texture. That's certainly possible.

Download the video, play in VLC, choose your speed setting.
Better yet, pause button :)

Thanks for the tip guys. I'm trying to make out the names of some of the mods int he workshop. I'm guessing those might be some of the things the Beta testers might have been working on.
