No I mean anime, I've got Advent Children. I've seen it used in fan made stuff on youtube

Then it's fan made , so can't buy or your talking about an unlicensed which is a no no.

I have a question for you guys... what on earth is this obsession with "school life" that's in so many anime? I've been looking at descriptions of some anime series and if I had a nickel for every one that began with "X was a normal high school student, until..." I would be filthy rich. I mean, I know it's obviously popular, but what's so appealing about it?
One, they're obviously targeted for high-school students in Japan, not some otakus in America. Two, those descriptions are often written by people who speak English trying to describe the series to other people who speak English, and may not necessarily be part of the official Japanese blurb.

and Three, there really isn't any more "obsession" with "normal" life than you'll see in American cartoons, sitcoms or "teen" comedies. That's just the so-called "Slice of Life" genre.

Actually this isn't always the case, there are a fare amount of Seinen manga and anime that start the same way (yes you could argue that the 18+ demographic still contains high school students).

The reasons for it being so popular could be as simple as it being an easy setting to build upon, everyone knows what school life is like so very little time has to be put into establishing the setting and what day to day life is like there.

Or from another viewpoint (more catering to the Seinen demographic), it could be filling in some gap that people still have from when they were in thier teens, rather than the usual boring school life they get to live out an exciting one through the protagonist of a story.

I've seen some clips of a FF7 anime and was wondering if anyone knew where I could purchase the DVD, I'm in the UK?

Last Order? As far as I know, it's only been released outside of Japan with a few editions of Advent Children (that are long out of print), and even in Japan the quantities were limited. Fortunately, as far as story and plot, you're not really missing much, it's really just an animated adaptation of Zack and Cloud's trip from Nibelheim to Midgar, with a few flashbacks of the Nibelheim incident.

So Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam is currently free to watch on ANN (untill some time in April), however im yet to see the original series (or anything that happens in the Universal Century before Zeta chronologically). Should i watch these series' first, or go straight onto Zeta?

Either way im still Hoping to get most of the UC stuff finished off anyway before Gundam Unicorn is released.

Hmm....tricky.

Watching the original is not a "Must Do", but it is a "Should Do". I would not miss the opportunity to watch Zeta because I had not seen the original series.

You're missing out on a lot (Amuro and Char, Axis and Zeon, etc.) if you don't have prior knowledge. It doesn't make sense not to start with the original series or movies anyway. The movies are a better bet than the TV series because they cull out a lot of useless fight of the week garbage and QUALITY animation and they're the basis for the continuing UC timeline with a greater focus on Newtypes than there was in the series.

I thought I saw a commercial for that last night, but we were having trouble with our cable so I missed it. I looked it up on the advlt Swim web site and it said Full Metal Alchemist was going to air at 11 (my time) so I was hoping it would be this! It's also good because they're going to be showing 4 episodes of Bleach too, and I've been watching that since they started re-airing the Arrancar arc. I had stopped just before the Bount arc started.

Yea , I forgot where they are right now in Bleach at least USA is getting all these new episodes. I have to say FMA Brotherhood is much better than the original . The story line is much more deep this time .

I think with Bleach they've aired all the way through the end of the Arrancar arcs, and will start with the second batch of filler episodes in April.

They have the full original gundam, and I'm pretty sure they have other series too for a while.

So did anyone catch FMA:Brotherhood last night? I really like the art style, it's a little different from the first series. But is it just me, or did Alphonse's voice get higher? The new voice actor is doing a good job of replicating the old voice actor though.

Also, I'm 16 episodes into Gundam Wing and I just have to say that I am not enjoying it very much at all. The voice acting in the dub is pretty bad (especially Relena) and it just seems like a cluster[censored] of random events with nonsensical dialogue in between. It's like they're trying too hard to make the series seem deep. The action isn't even all that great so far either, feels like they keep using the same animations too. Please tell me it gets better.

Ya I saw it and liked it. Though I have seen all of the current episodes that Funi already put on Youtube. I am just curious to see what the new characters sound like.

I started watching Time of Eve (got to about the second episode)

Then Crunchyroll crapped out on me (is it just me or does that site seem to have it's problems?)

In any case I really like it. The animation is awesome, the characters are interesting, and has a really interesting storyline

I also see that it doesn't have that many episodes and it's only about 15 minutes an episode. I tend to like short anime and manga because it feels more concise and meaningful. Jyu-Oh-Sei, for example, was pretty short and although it didn't quite tie up nicely, it was still an awesome anime.

Might start reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junk_Force only in the sense that I'm considering getting the novels (though that's highly unlikely)

Well Hulu updated their anime list

Most notably Samurai Champloo and Spice and Wolf

I've heard good things about Spice and Wolf and when I get time I might actually watch a full episode (I watched about ten minutes of one but wasn't even paying attention so it's more like two minutes)

I had watched most of Samurai Champloo but it's annoying to got through all the filler episodes so I just skipped those and went straight for the storyline episodes.

Amazingly I had watched quite a bit more on advlt Swim than I had thought as the last episode I remember watching was the one where
Spoiler
the blind lady attacked Jin

I thought the end of the series was mediocre and wasn't exactly impressed with it.

Anyway is Pumpkin Scissors any good? I think I might try either that or Spice and Wolf
