I just finished Strawberry Panic.

I really enjoyed it. ( Yes call me a girly man. :P)

Spoiler
I would have prefered Nagisa to fall in love with Tamao though.

Do you guys also have this feeling that you don't want some animes to end?

Just finished watching Jyu-Oh-Sei on Hulu

Good series

It's short, it's to the point, it doesn't dwell too much on character development, and gets the story done

Some people think that it being short is a negative (source: comments on Hulu) and they complain about the character development because the series isn't long enough for the characters to develop

I say it's all good and I didn't have to listen 15 extra episodes of whiny little brats while they grow up

Spoiler
And with the advent of most of the female characters getting killed off we didn't have to listen to women crying their eyes out for three episodes while the main character figured out who he wanted to sleep with.

Getting close to finishing the first season of Full Metal Panic. Since my birthday is coming up tomorrow, I think I might have enough for one game and one anime series. I am thinking of getting either Excel Saga, the "second" season of Full Metal Panic, or Black Lagoon. I still have to watch my School Rumble DVDs though.

Ummmm so I just finished watching the Berserk anime today. I had heard that the ending was pretty bad, and the manga is waaay better before watching it, but I figured that was just silly nitpicking people.

They were right. Berserk was terrible! It takes the first 10 episodes for it to really get good, then it just rushes to a conclusion that ISN'T EVEN A CONCLUSION! Ugh I feel like I wasted the ~9ish hours of my life that I spent watching it. Now I'm afraid to watch Claymore, cuz a lot of people say the manga is better for that too. :/ Not a good start to my anime collection. My only other anime experience is whatever cartoon network or the Sci Fi channel have put on (and some of that anime unleashed from the good ol TechTV days).

If the manga came first it is usually superior to the anime, storywise at least. But I didn't like the Berserk manga anyways. Have the first 3 volumes and never bothered to go any further than that.

As you said, it indeed does not finish the story. If you read the manga, you'll find that it still continues after the point where the anime ends, so you should probably also read the manga, since it seems like what you didn't like wasn't the characters or the premise or anything, but the way it ends. The anime also seems to have cut out a few things that happened in the manga during the same events covered (possibly to reduce on lose ends that wouldn't be tied up in the show? I'm not sure.)

Anyway, the anime is little more than a 25-episode-long commecial for the manga, covering only roughly the first 13 volumes out of a series that is 35 volumes long and still ongoing. And as has been said before, if there's any anime based off of a manga, the original source material is superior most of the time.

If the manga came first it is usually superior to the anime, storywise at least. But I didn't like the Berserk manga anyways. Have the first 3 volumes and never bothered to go any further than that.

A shame, the first three volumes are the weakest part.

Pretty much. That, and even shown at wee hours in Japan, there are some things in the manga that just can't get past the censors.

Yeah, but like you said it's 35 volumes and still ongoing! I've never read manga before so I'd rather start off with something shorter instead of starting with a series that's been going on for so long. The Berserk manga is darker than most of the anime, right? I think that's what disappointed me most, it was just the same generic "boy/teenager comes of age" story for a good part of the anime, and the ending was the only interesting part.

Okay, you're getting contradictory now. First you complain it doesn't get good until episode 10, then you complain it was a generic "boy/teenager comes of age story," which is roughly around episode 10 when that "aspect" begins, and that only the ending was interesting. Regardless, I don't think Berserk is for you at all.
