It's too bad they'll still have the DRM on Splinter Cell....

Not surprising

Uncle Mario's introduction made me lol pretty hard.

I used to visit the xbox forums a lot, and there would be a whole thread dedicated to his "ITS A ME MARIO" line on a daily basis. It made so many AC2 regulars mad, I found it so funny.

One guy actually went through the trouble of rounding up every link and referring one of the threads to it.

Has anyone played the DLC's? Are they any good?

I didn't think they were any different than any of the original missions. They just add in a bit more gameplay.

you may not be in this part of the game, so i'll put it in spoiler tags: [spolier] Altair mentioned in one of his codex pages that it may be possible that someone was able to live on through different people by using the piece of eden, where do you think he was? [/spolier]

I'm getting this for my birthday and I can't freaking wait. One thing I need to know, are there beggars asking for change in this one? They piss me off so much in the first. :swear:

Hopefully Ubisoft will learn from this that DRM this ridiculous only serves as a challenge for pirates, and only hurts real customers.

But they probably wont.

But they were soooo much fun to assassinate.

"Please sir, do ya have any money!?"

"PLEASE SIR, I'M POOR AND SICK AND-"

*slash*

Damn, they were so annoying that their dialogue was practically burned into my memory.

Great news. I was going to post a thread about it. Serves them right, and anyone else who thinks DRM will ever solve anything.

Heh... they were pretty annoying and a poorly implemented obstacle in the first game. Also those ranting madmen in the first game too... one time in the first game I was closing in to assassinate a target and a raving lunatic bumped into me and suddenly the target's entire entourage went hostile. [censored]. Fortunately, things like that have been replaced with bards who follow you and sing songs to you - they can be discouraged by either bumping into them at full speed or throwing money on the ground which they will proceed to collect, allowing you to continue onto your goal. Also, when they crowd around you it won't alert the guards immediately, it's more of a progressive thing. Even though AC2 is not perfect by no means, I consider it a step up from the previous game in every regard. Especially the story. Oh God, the narrative IS an actual narrative this time. You will enjoy! I hope! So, enjoy!

I've been playing this for the past couple of weeks, and I can safely that it's one of the greatest games I've ever played. It's simply phenomenal.

I would push them down the stairs. My friend who played decided to have a war against homeless people and just knifed them all.

Your not the only one .the mental people were also a pain in the ass as well. There are still annoying citizens in AC2 though.Mostly bard's but you can either throw them or give them money.

this game was great. i liked how they tied the story into real history. made it highly addictive for me. also made me get really into that chunk of history, and the history before and after. especially the art history. and the medici family's role in the early renaissance... so many awesome events and changes happening in that place and time. anyway.. good game overall. so many different plots mixed together. i played the first one only a couple weeks before getting ac2. it hooked me. got so svcked into it, i beat it 100% in 3 days. plenty to do after completing the story line, with treasure and feathers to find. beating up unfaithful husbands was pretty fun. assassin's tombs were real fun to solve. but after all that, all there is to do is run around and pick fights. my favorite is throwing archers off rooftops. especially into water, since guards can't swim. oh, and running around, throwing money at everyone. cuz i got my cabbage like that$$$$$. i always give the bards a swift punch to the face, and they drop the lyre and run away. they got annoying while trying to follow targets. i can see some people not liking the glyph puzzles, but that was one of my favorite parts of the game. i really liked how they put some of the more popular art of the time into the game. and made you really look at some of the paintings in the glyph puzzles. a lot of times, i felt like i was actually learning while playing.. then went on to read all about the things and people i saw in the game. total history freakout!!! there should be more games with that sort of effect.

Is there really any point to doing the side missions/hunting for feathers? How many of you have done it? I've beaten the game and all DLC, but I still have a few of these side quests to do.

Wow, I knew something like http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/98927-Ubisoft-DRM-Authentication-Servers-Go-Down would happen with the new DRM.

While that's entirely possible, I don't believe them. Ubisoft will say anything to make it seem like it wasn't their fault. Bastards.

I'm someone who, 99% of the time, finishes the main quest of a game then never touches it again. But I find myself trying to complete everything in AC2, simply because I don't want the game to end.
