Unofficial 1.5 Bugfix Request List

I have a few bugs that are annoying and one that is critical to completion.

1. The critical one is in Waking Nightmare Erandur was gone before I could get into the building. Now he is off in the black on my map but I can't get to him. There is no door in nightcaller temple to go through.

2. I went through the cave and picked up the book "Glories and Laments" before I ever went to the college of winterhold. Now even though it is in my inventory the quest still tells me to go to the cave and get it out of the chest at the top where the leader is. After I go through the cave again and beat the leader again (done this 3 times). I loot the chest and the arrow is still pointing to the empty chest telling me to get the book.

3. I got the side quest "Speak to Saphire about Shadr's debt" but when I try to talk to her she just says I have no business with you, get away from me, or something like that. There are no options for dialogue.

4. I finished the quest "Boethia's Calling" but my Mich. quest "investigate the Boethiah cultist" is still there.

5. Again, I found Rjorn's drum before i got the quest. When I got the quest I was able to finish the quest but the drum is still in my inventory. I can't drop it either.

6. I am not sure if this is a bug or not but it is annoying, 3 of my stones of Barenziah stacked but all the others I have collected sit in my inventory seperate.

On a side note the latest patch seems to have gotten rid of some of the lagg, the really bad ones anyway. Good job with that thanks.

Fix the "Numbers job" quest objectives in Haelga's Bunkhouse and the Bannered Mare, just got around to enter the bunkhouse and noticed that the marker guides me to a damn box on the second floor while the ledger is on the first. And due to the fact that the marker is in a completely wrong place i'm unable to interact with the ledger in any way. And i don't have a save file from before accepting the quest either :ermm:

1) Ninroot glitch. Only post 1.4 have I actually noticed how bright some of the ninroot plants are.

2) Fix 'Message to Whiterun' where you cant give the axe to the Jarl.

3) Improve the general framerate even more (in some dungeons the framerate goes down and as a result so does the input/response time from controller to screen).

Just a minor thing-

"Collect bounty from Skald" stays in your journal even after handing in the bounty. I have a few of these Dawnstar jarl quests still showing as open in my journal.

On those jobs you can actually go back to whoever you got the request from (off the top of my head I can't remember which one gives the numbers jobs) and abandon your current job to get a new one.

  • Improve Shadows, dear god, PLEASE!
  • Reduce Jagged edges, or add some kind of in game display settings, this is a personal problem, and I don't think it has to do with my TV's.
  • Fix the texture on Arcane Enchanters, they are all blue on the countertop of them (at least in Dragsonreach, haven't checked other places)
  • Improve General FPS
  • Make more responsive movements with the bow, maybe melee weapons too.

the only thing I'm concerned about getting fixed is the radiant quest issue with the companions at green spring hollow. i have to go there and kill the saber cat, but i had killed it before while adventuring
and now can't get passed it. i can't finish the companions without restarting the game or getting it patched. unless someone knows a workaround? i tried making it and ash pile after raising it from the dead. but that didn't help, nor does waiting around.

Not sure if this is new or not, or if it's even a bug, but I have a couple of blessings (Blessings of Arkay and Voice of the Wind) which are lasting forever. They initially said 7 hours and 23 hours respectively, but two game-days later they're still on 6 hours and 22 hours. Are these REAL TIME hours? Seems a bit excessive if they are.

1* Further optimization of the PS3 FPS - I doubt they will ever fix this issue completely, but there is still room for a lot more improvements!!

2* Someone in this forum once posted a very simple solution for the "weapon_cleanup_system", Bethesda should take a look at this thread, and fix this problem in 1.5, as I take it is still not fixed post 1.4!!

3* All the other broken quests that are still not fixed post 1.4, should be fixed!!

4* Killblows should be executed in the correct view, like a FP-Killblow in FP and TP-Killblow in TP - A lot of times I've experienced a Killblow executed in FP, when I was clearly playing in TP!?!

5* Addition to 1* - A special focus on the FPS in the Forts is especially needed, as it is EXTREMELY LOW, for some unknown reason!!

Thieves Guild armor problems - there needs to be some way implemented for people to get around this. It should even be doable for those who already ran into the problem and saved afterwards by just allowing us to trade with Tonilia even if we haven't swapped armor with her and she should have the regular Thieves Guild armor as a purchaseable item.

Word on the street is this has actually been fixed by placing a random pair of regular thieves guild boots in the training room, I'm not currently experiencing this bug on any of my characters so can anybody confirm if picking those up and trading them to her works? If so this was a pointless point.

How about just going throuogh the entire game and repairing, fixing all the broken quests, and everything wrong with it ? I mean you should be able to see the wrongs in the game if you would probe it thoroughly .... Why is it that alot of people here have problems, and you can't replicate it ?

Here's a spot to list out stuff that is still broken post 1.4.

I'll start with a few I've seen so far:

1. Thieves Guild armor problems - there needs to be some way implemented for people to get around this. It should even be doable for those who already ran into the problem and saved afterwards by just allowing us to trade with Tonilia even if we haven't swapped armor with her and she should have the regular Thieves Guild armor as a purchaseable item.

2. The first autosave that's created when you start a new game should take up a totally brand new save slot. If it needs to overwrite an existing slot then players should be given the option of choosing which slot to overwrite. Loads of people have lost major gameplay time due to this little surprise.


theives guild armor problem been taken care of all ready. i didnt know this till three days ago but theres actually pieces of theives armor in the theives guild you can pick up in the sleeping quarters and in practice area on the bookshelf if you got rid of the armor before trading. heres the vid to help more

Glitch for the list...

The Forbidden Legend quest line, when the quest log is saying "Read Daynas Valen's Notes"
I have his notes and his journal in my inventory and reading either does not progress the quest.

I have tried dropping them and picking them up again, waiting weeks, etc

All of my chests in Breezehome have been emptied by the game. Not sure if it's 1.4 bug or not, but when I checked yesterday every chest is now empty which means I've lost all my crafting stuff, ore, herbs, dragon scales etc In edition I've lost some armor and a couple of daedric items. Maybe my live in wife Ysolda has taken them - whatever, it seems to be a bug with 1.4.

I've also had 1 freeze with 1.4 whilst waiting for 10 hours in Solitude, the game just froze and needed a hard reset.

omg really? i need to check this on my thief save as it was this problem that was ruining my game cause items kept on dissapearing for no reason and it took my armour with it

as for fixes being able to remove stuck quest items would be nice i have a few like the elder scroll and habs remains that i dont want to get rid of through the means the game gives you to rid them i want them in my home as decorative special items (yes im a hoarder also 2000 septims for an elder scroll is unaceptable) and galluses journal would look nice on a book shelf
and the other one again to do with decoration is the placeing items on shelves then them flying across the room is there a way to sort that out?
the other bugs i have are odd ones like after i quick travel 3 out of 5 times anything thats in my hands becomes unequipped and i wont find out till i get in a fight

It's fixed, but not retroactively. On a new game, they don't build up any more.

Jagged edges? The FXAA takes care of that for me. The Xbox version looks far worse in this respect... and yet still some people are asking for it to be removed *sigh* ... perhaps you need to enable 'game mode' on your TVs? The edges and filtering look fine on mine, even for a finicky PC gamer.

My Arcane Enchanters don't have that issue, either. I did have black water for a while, texture corruptions seems to be linked to memory overflows in specific saved games.


My main issues right now:

NPC weapon drops not being cleaned up. Drives me mad.
General quest bugs
The Gildergreen bug - after 'saving' the tree using the 'good' method, the tree still looks dead. And using the PC version, I can see that there's a gildergreen sapling growing INSIDE of it, which is no use to anyone. Either delete the big tree or delete the little one and make the big one pretty.

#2 Dragon souls.
For some reason the game glitched now it seems i can't absorb any single dragon soul.
