I think that for the RP map we should have some sort of overarching narrative to help us along. Why are we here? What are our goals as a society? What are our goals as individuals? What were we doing before we got to the new map? Do we have any fears? Do we have religion? That sort of thing. If we answer questions like those we would probably be able to rp more convincingly and more naturally.
Tell me what you guys think.
Have people determined whether they want Aztec, Victorian, or some other style of architecture, or whether they want any style constraints at all? I think that would be a logical first step in determining a basic narrative.
For instance, here's one for a Victorian theme:
"All around you, the people are sick. Smog from new industrial machines fills the air, and the government rules over the people with an iron fist. People know, though, that the government is but a puppet for BlockCorps. The corporation has fingers in everything - it is, in essence, monopolizing the entire island country of Cubania, and the people suffer under their regime. One of their latest machines is a sea vessel, rumored to be capable of visiting distant lands untouched by civilization, lands that grow verdant and unspoiled by industry.
"Little does BlockCorps know that a small group of rebels has plans to destroy the ship building yard and set off on the prototype vessel... Determined to leave the sickness behind, these few souls are set to embark to parts unknown, where they will build their own destiny, working together with a common goal. Survive. And, for perhaps the first time since BlockCorps came to be, prosper."
