Unofficial Skyrim DLC Discussion

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 7:25 pm

OOOO I have an idea i been working on for an update to the game involving kids in the game. I copied this from one of my posts it would be amazing if you read this and possibly started a poll about it. I have about 20 supporters so far that responded positively.
Would you agree that kids in Skyrim don't have much to say, and not enough involvement in the game?
The changes in the first 2 threads that are listed are ideas that will IMPROVE the games family interactions as well as interactions w/ kids.

...
...
...

This is not entirely needed to be done with a dlc but even a patch would be nice or a free update. For a fullscale dlc i want more to explore, more weapons to use, more people to talk to and more conversations to be had with alll current and future characters. I also wish wives left the house and had social lives andyou could adopt kids to integrate you into society better.

thats a pretty solid list.. for a dlc it sounds more realistic than my ideas. Is there food water, and sleep requirements as of the latest update of the game, or is that still not possible???

An expedition to explore what remains of Vvardenfell, there must have been small parts of land left behind after the explosion of Red Mountain.

I would also like to know if the Telvanni Isles were taken by the Argonians or if they are still independent. After all it is at the northeastern edge of the province and as a series of isles they could not be taken easily. And, as they are controlled by House Telvanni, it would be an opportunity to recreate the twisted fungi and mushroom architecture. This would be sure to please all longtime fans of the series.

But what would make a more interesting and current story would be an expansion to the island of Stros M'kai. It is sure to have been heavily battered by the war with the Thalmor, and that is an opportunity to tackle the strife between Hammerfell, the Empire, and the Thalmor. After all, the forces of Hammerfell fought the Aldmeri Dominion to a stand still, if the Empire can gather its strength and make common cause with the Redguards, it is probable that they could defeat the Dominion and remove the Thalmor. And rising up against the Dominion would give the Empire freedom to restore free Talos worship, that is sure to win back some friends in Skyrim, though bitterness may remain.

Here is what I like to see.

Expansion Content
I like to be able to revisit Hammerfell, Morrowind, Cyrodill, Summerset Isle, and a few other places during this trouble times. Most players would love to revisit old places in the game, to see how they have changed and expanded upon the presence. These could be full blown expansions for the game with their own respective storyline.

Horse Armor and Content
I have suggested this before. The things I would most love to see is remaking the whole horse concept like being able to ride a horse and fight on it, using Saddlebags to store our equipment, tie horses to town posts or stables outside cities, being able to smith horse armor and enchant, and the ability to use a power button (RB) to call horse to your side. Developers should definitely make unique horses invincible so we don’t lose them in the game, like storyline NPC’s that won’t die. Instead of having only one unique horse (Shadowmere), there should be more horses for each faction. Each unique horse should have its own unique ability to use, meaning it would allow for more variety in horses.

Hiring NPCs
As a vivid player, I always though it be interesting to be able to hire players to fetch stuff for you, like alchemist ingredients or ore. You could buy a mine and hire miners who will fetch you ore when you pay them, which could also help improve the merchant style gameplay. After smithing, enchant, or alchemist working, player could place items in shop to sell. The next day, the player can collect how much he earned. This could tie into areas with more population.

Player’s Houses
Another concept for this game is to allow the player more creativity in placing their items around the houses? Maybe allow for us to make a room dedicated to Enchanting and Smithing, while another room is dedicated to Alchemy and Books. Then a player can have a room dedicated towards displaying Weapons, Armor, and Trophies won in events.

More Factions
In Skyrim, the number of factions seemed rather dull. We need at least different factions that would cater more to the players play style. Maybe add a Thalmor or Blades, Companions or Silver Hand, Necromancer or College of Winterhold, Merchant or Thieves Faction, and Psijic Order. There are a number of factions that could be added to the game that wouldn’t compromise the storyline.

New Armor
There is one thing I learned is that player’s love variety in the game. Not all armor in Skyrim suits the players taste. There needs to be more armor and more metal types to expand into the smithing part of the game. Dwarven, Elven, Ebony, Dragon, Glass, Iron, Steel, and Leather armor is somewhat disappointing in the amount you receive.

I have a few...

1) Paarthurnax Quest

- I really, really, REALLY want to go tell The Blades to go fly a kite on this one.. This is a hot topic on the forums and I'm sure whatever mods/Bethesda employee's that end up reading this post are already well aware of all the discussion about it. I just really want to resolve this thing.

2) Further expand upon the various factions.. Further there quest-lines and stories.

- Colledge of Winterhold could have a new storyline regarding the Psyjic Order.
- Companions really need a longer story in general.. Very flat compared to the rest. No ideas off hand.
- Dark Brotherhood definitely hit it's climix with the Emperor assassination, but some more members in the Dawnstar Sanctuary would be nice, along with with the ability to upgrade the remaining portions of the Sanctuary.

3) Expand upon the Dragons as characters.

- Odahving & Paarthurnax are some of the games very best characters.. I'd really like there to be a "Dragon Faction" or some sort.. Where we can learn more about there motives, desires, history, and culture...

4) War with the Thalmore

- I really REALLY hate the Thalmore and the Aldmeri Dominion.. Being able to do something about there presence in Skyrim for good would be immensely satisfying..

5) Your own personal Castle

It can have it's own quest-line, history, and so on.. It can even cost 100,000 gold to purchase. I don't care, I just want a proper house befitting a Dragonborn who's the leader of the Companions, D. Brotherhood, Theives Guild, the Arc Mage, and not to mention the one who killed Alduin.

- All the various player crafting stations (Alchemy lab, Enchanting table, a fancy forge, and a smelter)
- Dedicated library room with huge book-shelfs
- Personal armory with tons of weapon racks/cases and at least 6-10 mannikins for the many awesome armor sets.
- Maybe even hired-guards or the various House Carls can stay at this castle, guarding/patrolling it while your away, and making it a "Hub" for followers.
- Conveniently placed storage containers (satchel on the alchemy table, chest & weapon rack next to the forge & smelter, etc. etc.)

Those are my main things that exist in the game that I'd like expanded upon.. Other than that you're just down to adding new things.. Quick list

- More dragon types (and enemy types in general)
- More shouts & spells
- Dragon-tier weapons
- New areas/landmasses to explore.

I would like to see...

-A completion of the Bard's College. Seems like they didn't have enough time to get it in, but it would be awesome to see it finished.
-A return to Solstheim? Would love to revisit the island again.
-Dragonbone weapons
-New armor
-Horse armor :D
-Something with the Alderi Dominion
-Some sort of flashback similar to the nightmares in Dawnstar except to Ysgramir and the 500 Companions

Skyrim is the first Elder Scrolls i've ever played, and i have been amazed at how great this game is, other than the FPS dropping dramatically.(especially after 130 hours)

so these are the things that would be cool to have in Skyrim.

WEAPONS:

-Spears, need i say more?

-long, and short range bows? keep the bows already in the game as long range, but create short range, which are more accurate for close range, maybe stronger, unless the target is further away?

-Flails? if you don't know what these are, they have a handle, attatched to a chain, attatched to a spiked ball.

-duel sided blades? don't know how it would work, or if you would only be able to wield one at a time, but might be cool.

-

ARMOUR:

-just make some new types of armour, that look cool.

-maybe have medium armour? not light armour, but not heavy? has medium protection?

MAGIC:

-have new elements to use? we have fire, ice, and sparks?
~water
~rock/earth?
~maybe something like a dark hole? slowly hurts them?
(just throwing some things out there that might be cool to use)

-as for other spells, they are all ok, but maybe have more special spells?

PERKS:

-i don't know what kind of perks should be added, but it would be nice to be able to work on something new.... by the time the DLC comes out, i think i will have almost everything close to 100...

LAND MASS, AND QUESTS:

i know i keep hearing about a "massive DLC expension" coming?

-i would prefer a bigger map, but i'm happy if all we get a little bit more "play room" in the world by expanding a little bit through neighboring provinces, and alot of quests.

-if new quests are added, try to keep them close to their objective. i love running around everywhere, but when i'm in Riften, and it tells me to go get something from Markarth, then it tells me i have to go straight back to Riften, i'm not going to run there. it is huge distances needed to travel for quests, which is cool and all, but i would prefer that more quests are closer to "home."

i can't think of much more that i want in the game at the moment. but as far as weapons, armour, and quests go? look at other games that have the same type of combat, and see what everybody loved to use in the game, and why.

hopefully we see some really cool inprovements in the game!

Personally I'd like to see some more light armour, IMO there wasn't enough norse looking light armour and helmets (that low level draugr helmet looks epic). The other thing i would like to see is a war against the Thalmor...I dont like them.

EDIT: I also think that more of the armour sets should be able to reach legendary status, Hide armour and studded armour looks cool but doesnt offer enough protection against high level enemies.

Also i think that unique items should be unique in look as well as stats, IMO i was disappointed to find weapons that were named and part of a small quest to be almost identical to other weapons. I.e Red Eagle Sword being an Ancient Nord Sword, so i guess more uniqe looking weapons?

I would like to see something similar to the Shivering Isles, a new land with a lot of quests, some unique characters and story to focus on if you're finished with the main quest line of "JESUS CHRIST IT'S A DRAGON GET IN THE CAR" or whatever. Maybe it could center around the Aldmeri invasion and the choices that the player made while siding with the Imperials/Stormcloaks.

Right now the civil war is just hanging in the air, you do it, someone wins then you go back to killing dragons. No real consequences or a follow up. Even if you kill Paarthurax, Skyrim and the whole of Tamriel is still in danger because of the snobbish Altmers and it's up to either the Empire, it's allies and the Dovahkiin or the Stormcloak fortified Skyrim, it's allies and the Dovahkiin to flip the bird at the Dominion.

Since there are 4 accessible, paved roads leading out of the Skyrim province, I would like to see them USED! :)

-West Morrowind is doable; it's isolated from the rest by the sea (north, east) and the Jerral mointains (south). I want to see more armor, new faction quests (possibly longer), bigger cities!

I'd like to see somthing that expands upon the Thalmor, possibly a micro war that you can lead. Maybe a gulilla operation against their agents, commanding your men, selecting a base of operations, taking prisoners for leverage, and just trying to kill as many as possible.

Anything that has to do with reducing the Thalmor presence in Skyrim would be appreciated. Got a suspicion that the entire next war with them is going to be jumped over between this game and the next title though.

I'm really hoping for something Thalmor related. (now the Thalmor problem is way too open-ended) but that would be hard considering their place in 3 of the 6 Main Questlines... so either they write it that way that it won't influence Skyrim itself (going to an island which forms a base and is preparing a weapon which will be used to win the war, letting the player destroy it, which brings them back to the current truce.)

Something related to a daedra wouldn't be my first choice... it's done way to often with Blood Moon and Shivering Isles.
And they really should stay from a save the world thing like KotN unless it relates to the Thalmor or Dragons (Paarthunax!)

hardcoe mode. You need to eat and sleep or else you get hit with major debuffs.

Think this idea should be with all difficulty settings, would give another use for hunting if only they could add fishing to it also (with a rod I mean)

We need longer quest lines: guilds are way too fast to finish. Also, there's no feeling of "getting higher ranks": give us more ranks in the guilds.

5) Your own personal Castle

Yh. But one built next to a settlement such as Winterhold as opposed to one way out in the sticks. That'll be cool as Winterhold is a bit empty and has a boring feel to it with the exception of the mages guild so the player having a castle home built there would liven the place up a bit. You could even get a taxi (horse & cart) home.

Conjuration - More summons, Not more powerful neccessarily just more choice in summoning options. i.e, Wisp Mother, Ice Wraith, Spriggan and Flesh Atronach < (I miss Flesh Atronachs they ruled!) Add in Daedra Thrall spell.

Destruction - Paralysis Rune + Duel Rune Placement. Drain Health & Drain Magicka spells added in.

Alteration - Feather spell back in game. Water Walking aswell.

Illusion - Dominate spell to control creatures for a short time.

Gamplay Element -

Quest where you find the shards of Duskfang/Dawnfang and forge it into a weapon of your choosing which changes like before.
Quest to fix Keening and it lvls to your lvl you fixed it at.
More Marriage options.
Super Residences like in Oblivion. (Mage Tower, Castle and alike but Skyrim style.) I'd like a farm where I can decide whats grown and you have to hire farm hands to help or you can buy a mine and either pay the workers (good option) or secretly buy slaves to work it. More money to you but chance of revolt on occasion.

Some sort of necromancer hideout aswell were if you sacrifice people you get a semi-perminit bonus. i.e Sacrifice something, beast or human boosts magic by 50 for a week or magic regen by 25% for a week. hehehe
