Unofficial Skyrim DLC Discussion

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 4:55 am

I have high hopes for the upcoming DLC's.
The Skyrim factions and main story are my least favorite out of the latest 3 TES games. So i am hoping for new factions. Perhaps i can finally do some quests for the Blades? i mean i already brought them all my good followers thinking they would then give me a mission or something...
I would also enjoy more Thalmor rebellion quest, maybe this is what the Blades can be all about?
I would also enjoy more "good" factions as some one here wrote. Some kind of knight order maybe? no idea.

I am not sure. As i was exploring Blackreach i found a group of humans held and enslaved by the Falmer. Before they noticed me they seemed to have a pretty organized routine. Maybe they are just misunderstood and are actually intelligent?

I don't think the Fungi actually make's them Un-intelligent it just dwarfs the ability to see i THINK? <--- purely speculation

my impossible dream expansion would be that they give you all of tamriel, the ability to build up a massive army bringing together powerful characters and artifacts, and then you repeat tiber septim's conquest of tamriel and drive out the elves

more realistically i think that dlc will involve the thalmor in some major role as well as a continuation on the dovahkiin's relationship with the other dragons

also possible that the falmer may pose a big problem-i mean if they release all their chaurus to the outside world there is going to be major havoc because due to the general weakness of soldiers of guards in the tes universe the falmer would absolutely destroy the imperials or stormcloaks in open warfare

I'm sure it will be a expansive DLC, another land/realm to explore that has new armor, new weapons, horse armor (maybe), new animations, new/classic enemies, new voice actors etc.

It's entirely possible they talk, but we never see or hear it, but I stand by the no writing. They've clearly regressed to primitive tribals. They live in vast ruins and ancient cities and what do they do? They set up tents. Not at all like the Nord's reuse of Markarth. They're also surrounded with rich ore deposits and what do they use to make their weapons and armor? Bug exoskeletons.

No, they're not necessarily dumb, but they are really quite the primitive group.

I really hope that

Spoiler

the strange magic orb in Kagrenzel is a setup for future DLC, rather than simply a hole in the ground.

Perhaps if you bring some unique artifact in contact with the orb, instead of dropping you down the hole it might transport you to some other realm, who knows, possibly even to wherever the Dwemer are hiding.

A completly new province would be better in form of a full blown expansion, not as DLC. EG as Awakening was for Dragon Age origins.

A DLC featured around the Volkihar becoming extremely active and wreaking havoc, slaughtering and turning rural villages and such. You find out that the reason behind the sudden vampiric activity, is Lamae Beolfag has returned, and has started a vampiric epidemic at the order of Molag Bal. If your character is a Vampire, a courier will find you and give you a letter from the Volkihar, extending an invitation for you to join them, where you can undergo a ritual (similar to the Underforge Lycanthropy ritual) to strengthen your Vampiric Blood, making you into a Volkihar, granting greater power to Frost based spells/shouts and melee combat. Also improves the Vampire player experience, making it to where you can feed in combat, and allows you to revert to specific levels of Vampirism when you feed.
As a mortal, you can join either the Vigilants of Stendarr or the Order of the Virtous Blood to combat the vampiric epidemic, and eventually, Lamae Beolfag herself.

More Ores (mithril, adamantium, amber, madness ore, domina, lead, bronze, copper, brass, tin, ...)
Bronze is a combination of primarily copper and tin. Iron was much easier to make and cheaper, but not quite as good, and steel was much better than both. There is no bronze ore, but copper and tin would work, however bronze and dwemer are rather similar. And I could've sworn that mithril was a light armor made from silver? Not sure what you would use lead for, aside from possibly arrow tips? Kind of like a poison effect? I don't know.

Not sure what the lore behind mithril is in TES, but the original source of mithril has it as it's own distinct metal with it's own distinct set of properties.

More Curved swords. Curved Swords.

I'd like more thalmor battles/diplomacy quests. Something to kill them, or ally with them. Maybe a cinematic of the meed meeting thing. Expansion would just be cool with new quests, armors, etc. [censored] horse armor.

I want new content that is similar in feel to a combination of New Vegas' DLCs, and Broken Steel.

Basically:

New areas, but also some new things added to the base landmass as well in the form of a few new quests and encounters, that reflect the evolving state of the world post Main quest and post Civil War.

New equipment, character progression, shouts, spells, enemy types and variations of existing enemies etc.

A real, planned out story arc, that advances our character's personal story, and the world's story forward. Certain characters hint to us that we would accomplish many more things that will have great consequences or ramifications.

Tying up, or advancing old loose ends, like the Thalmor, our decision with the Blades, etc. I want to see results and action in response to those sorts of things.

Overall, I don't want to see things that are completely divorced from and unrelated to, our character and the story's progression. Things like all of Fallout 3's DLC minus Broken Steel are a major turn off to me unless done incredibly well.

I want to evolution of the world's condition.

What are the Thalmor now doing? Are they preparing to attack while Skyrim is recovering from its own issues?

What of the dragons? Are they fleeing, going into hiding, or even trying to integrate into society in some way?

Are the Dwemer about to become more relevant?

Are the An-Xileel planning something?

Story hooks of that sort would interest me, far more than some random thing that is ultimately irrelevant.

They really need to add some marriage options for the races that got left out. My poor Khajiit is feeling lonely :(
Also armour stands like the one in Knights of Nine would be nice, I like collecting the different suits but have nowhere to display them.

I'll chuck in here a few of my past wishes for dlc, respond to them if you wish.

Factions I'd like to see joinable in a dlc:
  • Vigilants of Stendarr
  • The Volkihar Tribe
  • Glenmoril Witches
  • The Morag Tong
  • Mannimarco's Cult
Places I'd like to visit in a dlc:
  • Solstheim
  • Hircine's Hunting Grounds
  • Remains of Atmora
  • The Wrothgarian Mountains
  • Isles of Thras
Features I'd like to use in a dlc:
  • Volkihar Vampirism as described in Immortal Blood
  • Lich gameplay after a transformation quest
  • Ursinethropy (ursinthropy?) alternative to lycanthropy
  • Divorcing married npcs to be able to re-marry
  • Radiant merchant gameplay via mini-game/npc management
  • Optional fishing via bucket, rod, net or spear
  • Hair change via barber, facial change via Dibella/Clavicus Vile Priest/Cultist
Beings I'd like to sight in a dlc:
  • Denizens of Akavir
  • The imga of Valenwood
  • Sload of the isles of Thras
  • Falmer of Skyrim, whom are only half-corrupted (blind pale elves)
  • Maormer of Pyandonea
  • Cliff racers - make them less in number and they'd be nice to see
  • Netches - cute little floating cowbags that'd be intriguing in a colder enviroment
  • Minotaurs - how about buffalo minotaurs? I miss those old fools
  • Nymphs - give them some skimpy witch clothing, make them look like eerie bosmer and make them creepy as hell, oh yes
  • Any daedra - Skyrim was lacking in daedra, a dlc could and should fix this
  • Grahls - definitely a must have in the monster section. These trolls always used to scare the hell out of me, second to the Uderfrykte
  • Rieklings - annoying blue mutton chop Hun goblins? hell yes
  • Scalons - I thought these guys looked brilliant in shivering isles, they need a return in the land of tamriel for sure
  • Wormmouths - they might look like maggots with legs to some, but to me they are just tiny huggable guars
  • Tusked Bristlebacks - oh these are excellent banes to mages! how interesting they'd make encounters in our current system
  • Lamaie - if skyrim had bigger rivers, these serpent mermaids would have fit right in
  • Any undead - like the daedra, the undead lack much in variety within skyrim, this needs to change soon
  • Goblins - prime annoyance in Oblivion who screech like hell, be'd nice to swipe their heads off once more
  • Dreugh (land/water) - underwater wildlife and insect-like life is lacking within skyrim, another thing to put on the 'change now please' list!
  • Ogres - preferably with AI similar to giants, don't want to be hurting my friendly ogres after I helped them out in the Malacath quest in Oblivion
  • Durzogs - unique looking, sharp as a fiddle and none to happy with my intrusions, these fell beasts need their revenge
  • Guars - what can I say here? these guys are well loved all round! no need to say anything, guars are just naturally charismatic like that
  • Orgnum, king of the maormer
  • Yagrum Bagarn
  • Divayth Fyr
  • Any notable figures of akavir
  • Leader(s) of the thalmor
Also having more choices, more RPG aspects, more defined evil/good based faction options or just past lore coming back to life would make me pleased.

Wishlist:

Shop which you can fill with stock and employ staff to eventually sell which impacts the economy of the city (economy is near non existant)

Castle where I can recruit NPC's to do stuff like I give them a load of stock and they make potions for me over time.....or they do things that are unique that I could not do myself (suikoden style)

Dwemer, and an electric razor so I can shave their beards for all their damn traps... seriously i'd like just a village of dwemer to return from an outer dimension like corpus man in morrowwind

Quests to destroy the thalmor and falmer

Electorial system, so you can be voted govenor of say a city....(make use of speechcraft, and wealth)

Better army warfare (probably needs next gen to power this)

A proper building with dedicated places for unique artificats

Ability to throw swords and thus send an opponent flying backwards (the mechanics of this all exist, except the throwing of the sword)

I wouldn't mind a DLC with the wood and drow going up against the Thalmor. They give elves a bad name. And heck not every high elf likes the Thalmor either.

I would like a map expansion to the current. And special races such as Dremora, even though many have argued that it would affect the legitimacy of the elder scroll"s past games. That's understandable but many people have moded the game on their PCs to access dremora as a playable character, so why not make them acceptable to us 360 nplatformers.

If the admin of this topic will allow me i have a topic just like this called Future Hopes for DLCs; if u would post on mine, i will follow urs to increase ur credibility.

I guess they could add playable dremora if they do a hugue oblivion planes dlc
but this would need serious support, as a dremora may have difficulty fitting with the normal main quest
I mean .... dragonborn dremora ... really
and how would thalmor, and 9 divines priest react
what about daedric lords that are anti-dremora
(dremora are mostly alligned with mehrunes dagon)

I'd like a fortress, like Battlehorn castle DLC. Hmmm, it would be nice if the other holds like Dawnstar, Winterhold actually had houses you could purchase. I hope they do something like in Oblivion with those house addons that had a little quest for each of them. Daedric realm would be awesome, but as much as i love Sheogorath i would prefer a new one like Boethiah or Peyrite or even Malacath.
what i'd really like though...is more Marriageable characters...Like Kahjiit & Woodelves.

I'm hoping they do at least 2 big expansions, that would be the greatest. I wouldn't mind visiting Morrowind again or perhaps some other zone we haven't seen yet. like Akavir

I don t mind a big house as a tiny part of a major dlc, much like the 3 factions in morrowind offered the player a personal stronghold
but a separate purely player house dlc would add insult to injury
Let s face it, one of the biggest complaint for skyrim is how the biggest houses are brokenn,
all houses except vyndrell hall are utterly dysfunctional
and even vyndrell look like crap compared to the average noc house

for example evette san, the spiced wine merchant in solitude,
her small 2 level cheap wooden house face proudspire manor
well, that girl got over 25 containers and a much more functional layout
In proudspire I kept bumping everywhere, so much I had to grab all the preset decorations,
which left proudspire quite empty

And yes, all the holds should have had holds and the cities should have been bigger
I guess its a bit late for that. but a player house everywhere still almost make sense
thought winterhold got like 3 houses still standing
and places like falkreath and riverwood got only 6

cyrodil and morrowind expansions would sell verry fast !!!
not to mention akavir, when they re done with tamriel
if they sell anywhere near the same numbers, or lets say 50%
and set the price at 30$, they would make 150 million $ per province
not bad.

that would be enought to fund akavir, the oblivion planes and all the rest
giving a run for its money to everquest I who had... I think it was a stagering 10 expensions
It would be fin for single players game to get the same support that mmo get
trully big worlds. lots of crafting. not be affraid to improve or expand mechanics.
I mean even diablo II did that, adding 2 full classes, complete with new spells, runes, and other game improvements
(along with more cinematics and a new city)

It would be fin to craft jewelry and clothing, and for those materials to have some impact on enchantment. maybe something similar to armor,
where fine clothes start fine, but even ragged clothes could become legendary ragged clothes with enought tailor expertise
that s one stylish beggar !!!

and so those legendary clothes and trinkets would hold more magic.
maybe a ring that could have permanent alteration spells on it (like oakflesh)
or a permanent restoration spell like ward or protection vs undead

I'd like to go to a small portion of western Morrowind, it could be really interesting to see the situation there, with the Argonians in partial control and the Empire barely hanging onto the north. I think it is much more likely that we see Solstheim though, something self enclosing. On the other hand, Bethesda has never repeated an area in TES excluding Arena and the Mobile games, so Solstheim has a good chance of not being in the game. Even more likely is that we end up having the DLC take place within Skyrim, and just add another faction and items.

Edit: An island in between Atmora and Skyrim would be very cool, although I doubt that is likely either. And also, DLC in Akavir is extremely unlikely because Akavir is way too foreign and everyone there is hostile, and secondly it is also nowhere near Skyrim, it's to the east of Tamriel. It is possible that some Akaviri nation such as the Tsaesci would invade Tamriel, especially considering the recent occurences.

I want a DLC where you will fight the Russains. It happens in every game. It's about time the elder scrolls should do so? Lore breaking? Who cares? Have a bunch of falling helicopters and most people won't notice how inaccuracy it will be lore wise......

I hope to see at least one full-blown expansion with several questlines. I've read many posts on these threads from players who complain that their characters are overpowered. They have become bored, they say. The game has become too easy, they say. They blame Bethesda. So.... I think Bethesda should make one of the questlines in the first major expansion especially for those people. I think one of the questlines should be so difficult that if one's character isn't uber, that character has no chance of even completing the first quest. Give the overpowered characters something to do, that's what I say. Not in the main questline perhaps. In a series of side-quests that get increasingly difficult, Demons-Souls difficult.

I would like to see more done with Njghtengales. The hall could be upgraded like Battlehorn from Oblivion. And then given quests to unlock and upgrade areas. Perhaps a flashback memory of how it came to be, where Mercer betrayed Nocturnal.

Needs more "to do list" once you complete a guild. Radiant quests are fine...but not story driven or even inter-related

EXTENDED COMPANION/COLLEGE QUESTLINES!

First and foremost, have DLC packs that extend the Companions and College of Winterhold questlines that focus on you being the Harbinger and Arch-Mage. No fetching quests, I want a big powerful ending that is an extreme step-up from killing a spirit wolf or some schmuck Altmer.

Companions - As the new Harbinger, you can induct other warrior-class NPCs into the Companions so they can earn money for you. Of course they can become followers, but they should be able to be sent out to do things for you as well.

The questline could involve Hircine and the Curse, as Kodlak rebelled against his fate and effectively robbed a Daedric Lord of a soul and potentially 3 others (You, Vilkas, and Farkas). This DLC could have you travel to Solstheim in order to take up a contract, but it turns out that Hircine has tricked you and you must find a way to escape the island, all the while accompanied by your Companions.

Once the questline is complete, you gain control of a headquarters where you can station the Companions at so they can operate throughout Tamriel (as an Island will have a port anyway in order to travel to other places). The entire island is filled with mythical creatures, including were-beasts (boars, bears, wolves, etc. although I know boars are exclusive to High Rock, Daedric Princes are capable of anything just about) and unicorns that you can hunt down. Perks (like Ancient Knowledge, in the Active Effects bar) could include better beast form related things, animal domination, beast roar that makes enemies flee (a human form version, comparable to a Shout or the Nord racial ability).
I would like a "Or Join Hircine" option.

I'd like to see a sizeable expansion pack like Shimmering Isles focussing on story and quests.

In terms of items I'd like chainmail armour.

In terms of monsters I'd like zombies back, and goblins. And I'd like to see goblins explored much more and not just monsters for you to kill and loot.

But more than anything I'd like some additional preferences for the game. Please, please a control to adjust the speed your skills go up and you level up. An option to turn off health regen and the red enemy dots on the compass. An option to turn off the POEs on the compass or just to turn the compass off.

I want a huge underground forgotten city; i'm talking minium 50 unique npc's, 30 homes, a guards keep (guards don't count as npcs), tons of quest that are given within this city and you do them in the city. I'm talking about robbing super well guarded mansions and ect.
