That's why I'm afraid to do any heroics or raids. I havn't done neither and honestly, I don't have UI mods up the ass and keybinds at all. I'd just fail the group. :P

Not knowing encounters svcks. Not knowing encounters as a healer is brutal and makes me want to cry. First time I did The Forge of Souls I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Our tank had top raiding gear and he wasn't difficult to heal, except on the final boss really, but all the melee DPS were getting creamed by AOE damage. Wasn't very fun.

I remember the first time I was tanking Emalon in vault on my belf paladin. I had played alliance and knew the fight but it never occurred to me to ask about tanking positions on horde side and sure enough, horde did them differently than alliance. Every vault run I did as alliance, whether planned or pug, Emalon was tanked in back left and the adds were tanked in front right corner. Of course, horde did this just the opposite and I wiped the raid the first time through.
lol oops We got it on the 2nd attempt though.

What I hate is the pressure in large groups. If you ask basically about one detail of a fight, they assume you're a noob, and say you don't know the fight. True story from my rogue Rashla. -_-

I think WoW is telling me to stop making so many characters.. On my first 3 or 4 characters I found tons of pouches and never ran out of backpack space. Now I can't find any and am always running out of room.

Yeah I had that problem actually getting that raid. I ended up being taken along by an acquaintance that knew my reputation from alliance side. This was before the restrictions on having both horde and alliance on a pvp server were lifted. I was a regular on the realm forums so I had a few contacts when I rerolled to horde. If it hadn't have been for that, I don't know that I would have ever gotten a raid.

They lifted that? Man, I have really been out of the program, I guess. :P

I got off a PvP server about that time ago, so that sounds about right. Been playing Normal servers mostly.

The weirdest thing I have ever seen in this game happened today. I met this guy, and he was pretty cool, we got in a group and ran Deadmines. Now, I thought he was just being generous by letting me have 1 or 2 of the things that dropped that he sort-of needed, but let me have instead. Then, after that, he says he can run me with his main, so that I can get the boss drops. Awesome, I think to myself. Then, as I'm selling my stuff, he gives me:

http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=2236

and

http://www.wowarmory.com/item-info.xml?i=5616

Bear in mind that I'm just level 17 at the time.

Alright, so I'm completely speechless; this guy is just giving me this stuff for absolutely nothing? I couldn't believe it.

He's going to run me through DM tommorow on his DK.

Has something like this ever happened to anyone here? It honestly creeped me out just a little bit, but I was still in shock that I got those 2 daggers, so I wasn't thinking straight.

Yeah, actually, I've had it happen once or twice in my MMO history. I actually used to do that myself back when I played Runescape in the early 2000's, when it was all the rage. My friends and I played it non-stop and all had high level characters with all the goodies; while they would PK poor little newbs in the Wilderness I would be handing out items.

EDIT: Since you linked the Armory I went to my characters page and saw something strange.. In the "Recent Activity" part it says I got the PvP achievement for one honourable kill and made progress on the "Know Thy Enemy" and "That Takes Class." Now, I did play some on Battlegrounds, but I didn't kill a single person. Do those achievements count "assists" or something..?

It's really not all that uncommon to find people who are nice like that. Maybe someone cleaning out a bank, or just feeling generous. I've given stuff away like that, if just to get rid of it.

I dunno. This seems like stuff that the guy could've gotten rich off of. I've never seen someone that generous...ever. Maybe he was just a really, really helpful guy. Or maybe he had money to burn.

Yeah they count assists. Honorable Kills don't require you to get a "Killing Blow".

http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/price.html?witem=2236 has an average sale price of ~70 gold, so does http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/price.html?witem=5616. Not all that much but still pretty nice of him.

You have to remember that the average sale price means nothing on certain realms, as it can be a reasonable price, or absolutely ridiculous, like on my server sometimes.

Ok, that part makes sense, but I made progress on achievements that do require a killing blow (That Takes Class and Know Thy Enemy). :ahhh:

Do you like MMOs in general? I haven't played many, but I thought WoW was pretty fun.

You get honorable kills whenever someone in your raid group kills someone. However, you did not get any killing blows.

I'd have been really thankful. Anyone else ever start a new character and just chill with new players? I did that 2 or 3 times and it was fun to catch that feeling all over again of being new to the game. Obviously you wouldn't be, but if you played with a new class you hadn't tried before, it's sort of similar. I did that, and I made sure that I didn't just outright say I had an 80, because sometimes friendships turn into guided tours through dungeons if you whip out your 80 all the time for a level 15 friend or something. Anyways, that was a good memory I had.

For me it's not so much that it's boring, it's just the time you have to invest in it. At first you can log in for a little bit a day and get a few levels. Then the levels per day start to drop and drop, and once you're at the end levels, unless you're someone that has endless amounts of time to pour into the game, it takes days to level up. Then there's the time it takes to get all your gear, and all the gold you need for mounts and what not. And sure you can farm, but it's dreadfully boring, regardless of whether you're farming for emblems, items, ect. The game really feels more like a job to me than a game.

I had a 78 Hunter, a 76 DK, and an 80 warlock on Drak'thul but I ended up giving the account to a friend. I just didn't have the time to invest in it.

Yeah, Blizzard knew how to draw people in, and most importantly, keep them there for as long as possible. I just couldn't handle the stress of my high level character, so I made a new one on a different server. I plan to make him my main once he's a higher level, as I was a complete noob on my old main. :P

So I got my account back up. Notice a few things, I see certain classes start out with different weapons and rogues get dual weps right at level 1?

Also, who wants to group up or hang out? :P
