Waiting for DLC, Part 2

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:07 pm

Look at all these updates. Now I know what I can expect from Honest Hearts. I can see the game in my mind. So much detailed information... seriously, what's keeping. I'd like an update on THAT...

Serious mods are gems and necessary for development. Some mods are superficial and optional (better skies, more lights, new tex, etc.) But some are frankly jaw-dropping. The first that comes to mind is the Lost Spires for Oblivion. Holy S! The companion Vilja is lots of fun.

All mods and modders are not created equal there is high value out there, for free, and pertinent for playing right now, as well as inspiration for developers.

Steam is the jerk that won't let me play the uncensored US version. :flame:

I'm a dual citizen living in Germany, and whenever I try to play a game here, it automatically downloads the German version. Even if I manage to download the English one, it forbids me from playing it. I don't think it's such a big deal for New Vegas (unless if you absolutely love watching body parts fly everywhere) as they've gotten more lenient, but Fallout 3's german version censored EVERYTHING. I was amazed the first time I saw a video of Jericho online and I realized his personality was actually that of a foul-mouthed badass. The German version censors him down to a tired old man who only curses once. I have nothing against censorship, but when they're literally rewriting an entire character's personality, that's bull****.

If it weren't for Steam, I could just make sure I buy the game while I'm in the US, but noooooo...

You shouldnt blame Steam for not being able to play the uncencored version, blame your goverment. They would rather take away the responsibilities from parent to allow them to work as mindless drones than have them supervise the games their children play.

And Steam server seems to be bugging when I ask for FONV DLCs... Maybe they actually work. UPDATE: nvm, it still shows no HH, just DM

Just wanna thank Steam and Beth for giving me time to get NV reinstalled. Recently had to reinstall the OS and didn't hear the news about the new DLC until a few hours ago-- woot!

now bring on the DLC

This.

Do yourselves a favor, if you haven't already: go to Nexus and take a gander at the top 100, maybe download New Vegas Bounties or Project Nevada or some gamechanger. You'll be pleased with the results, I'm sure.

It's more likely Steam registers you as a costumer in Germany thus offering you cencored content to keep in line with the law. And if it were up to the kids, you'd be playing the most horrific games by now in all their flash (flesh) and glory (gory).

Nah it's gotta be the IP. I first registered with Steam in the US and made my first purchase in the US. When I download stuff in the US, I can get it in english (or german), but in Germany I get no choice.

If only I could pretend to be Austrian...Those lucky bastards don't have censorship...

I simply preordered the austrian version, so i didn't got any problem with censorship. I even changed the language to english after a couple of hours, because the german translation was so borked i couldn't stand it anymore.

It'd probably be fixed on PC within the hour via a community patch. :P

I just chalk up not being able to get HH as another reason to hate the Xbrick.

I created an account just now in order to post, vent my frustration and share my thoughts. I have read every post on this topic and on the previous one, just to kill a bit of time while we wait. So heres what I got so far...

1) According to previous posts, whoever is in charge of releasing the DLC is operaing on PST (Pacific Standard Time), according to the time of writing this it is 7:25 am. My bet is that Steam/Bethesda wont push the release button for PC till noon LATEST.

2) The DLC is bugged (oh well now thats a surprise!). No doubt you have already read the post but another suggestion for the delayed release is that the DLC becomes short lived as everyone turns hostile for no appart reason (correct me if im wrong).

3) People have commented that there is radio silence from everyone, which is true, however according to this link http://store.steampowered.com/news/?appids=22380 , Steam is aware of the DLC (obviously) as they stated it in the link, but the reasons for its delayed release is odd.

On the first page of this topic (i think) was a comment from a representative from bethesda saying he/she will look into the matter of the release...

Well, yet another game/dlc that doesn't end up being released until a day or two after the official release date for Australia.
I'm heading of to bed, and I'll be mighty annoyed if this isn't out by morning.

Murphy's law at it's best.

The system known for spontaneously combusting on a regular basis has HH, but it's spontaneously combusting.
The system with the most in-depth access to the game files and the ability to access and edit the files directly, which would obviously be helpful for finding and dealing with bugs, doesn't have it, with no explanation as to why.
The system that's stable won't have it for a long time because they put an anteater in charge of their electronic security.
