A friend of mine talked me into picking up the comics and I must say... I absolutely recommend anyone interested in the show get them as soon as you can. Especially if you are starting to get a bit bored with the show. (I wasn't, but still) In my opinion, the comic is far better than the show, and that is saying something since I really enjoy the TV series. The characters and the way the story is handled is just so fantastic. Like everything gained +15 levels in awesome. (Again, my opinion)

I've made it all the way to issue 39 in just one day. I just couldn't put them down! I mean, I was going to so I could play some Dark Souls, but then the Governor story arc began... Couldn't stop until I got past that.

It's also really interesting to think back on the show and get some nods to the comic they did not really delve into. ;)

Major spoiler talk for those who HAVE read the comics:
Spoiler

Without being too graphic for this forum, how in the hell do you guys think they will deal with some of the things that go down in the comics? The show is deviating quite a bit, so I could see them just not doing it at all, but man... I suppose the murder business that goes down after Hershel and his family join them at the prison will not happen since his young daughters are not even in the show. Then again, tax evasion guy* (already forgot his name) may just murder someone different?

The two torture sequences that happen during the Governor story arc, specifically when Michonne gets her revenge, (assuming she will be in the show) I just don't see that being allowed to be aired on TV. They could possibly just not cut to her after she runs off and just leave it to the viewer's imagination... I don't know.

And finally, they need to hurry up and leave Hershel's farm so Tyrese can hopefully join them. He's become one of my favorite characters in the comics, alongside Glenn and Axel, and I really hope if he is in the show, they let him be as awesome as he is in the comic. If Axel is in, they better make sure he has his signature catch phrase, you follow me? :P

*I knew he was the guy who did it! When they first introduced him, I got that "If this was L.A. Noire I would absolutely suspect you, creepy, totally profiling, vibe." From him.

Not to be a stickler, but am I the only one tired of this stupid story arch?

Spoiler
Seriously, they've spent the past 4-5 weeks playing 'Let's find Sophia'. I'm seriously getting bored of this stagnant storyline.

Also, What's with the barn full of zombies? Is this some sort of 'I know we could rehabilitate these zombies' kind of thing?

Yeah I agree it's really going nowhere, I was kind of hoping it would be resolved in this episode but nope...

Spoiler
I figure they're holding the zombies in the barn case of a cure. I can see the old guy being concerned that they're still committing murder by killing them, he seems like that type. Just a guess though.

Spoiler
Well for the most part it seems like a zombie cliche, IE they act like statues until the moment they hear or see something. That said, if this next episode doesnt pick up the pace, I may lose interest. I don't want a Vin Diesel flick or something, but I would like to see something new. The past 4-5 episodes have been 'Let's sit at a farm and keep searching only to find nothing.' Hate is not the right word, but I felt like the episodes are just getting slower and slower. If this show starts revolving around the whole love triangle thing, I'm tuning out. I thought this would be a survival group, not a love soap opera.

Edit @ Broski- Oh I know, but at some points, gentleness and niceties have to be put to the side and a pragmatic choice has to be made. In my mind, killing one zombie saves countless uninfected.

Yeah I agree, but I don't think he's thinking that way which is why he kept it secret. He knows they all view them as a threat and nothing more and would simply kill every one of them.

Spoiler
I think the zombies in the farm are relatives they never had the guts to put a bullet into, out of guilt or fear.

Also in case you all didn't see, in the previews for the next one there was a charred burnt body with the bone structure of a child, so I'm being led to believe that Sophia burned to death somehow.

Spoiler
When we first met Hershel.. He talks to Rick about a cure for the walkers. Rick tells him about the CDC and Hershel does not believe it. He talks about how through out human history we have been fighting plagues.. He sees this new walker plague as nothing new. My guess is that he truely feels there will be a cure and that those walkers in the barn will be made human again. The moment that Hershel and Rick had that conversation, I knew something like a barn full of zombies was going to happen.

I enjoyed the first season, and the beginning of this one, but I'm pretty much ready to stop watching because of just how bad the majority of the acting is. It's getting truly painful to watch.

I really wish she would die but it won't happen, IDK why they turned her into what she is but I hate her now.

On a positive note, this episode solidified Daryl as my favorite character.

Can someone give me a recap (in spoilers please) of what happened in the newest latest episode, as my power was out for quite some time.

Also I hate that crazy suicidal lady. I wish they'd just kill her off and be done with it.

Just watched it. I shall recap episode 5 now, in case that's the one you're asking for. (Guys, correct me if I make a mistake, or add in anything I missed.)

Spoiler

-Flashback of Shane, Carl and Lori stuck in a highway traffic jam at night trying to escape. They meet Sophia and her parents there. Helicopters fly overhead, Lori and Shane follow on foot to find out the helicopters are dropping napalm on the city.

-Lori and Sophia's mom (forgot her name) plan to make dinner for the both families while the rest of Ricks group plans to keep searching for Sophia. Daryl takes a horse (without permission) and the teenager from Hershels group joins in the search (without permission too). During this, Glen tries to come on to that chick he banged, but she just shrugged him off.

-Shane and Rick discuss whether or not they should continue the search, with Rick in favor of continuing, and Shane against.

-Daryl's horse turns out to be the nervous one and throws him off the edge of a small cliff, injuring him. He finds Sophia's doll and struggles to climb back up, seeing hallucinations of Merle taunting him as he climbs. Imaginary Merle plants thoughts against Rick during this.

-Hershel warns his daughter about seeing Glen and Dale warns Glen about seeing Hershels daughter. But neither seemed convinced.

-Daryl finally limps back to camp, but from a distance, Andrea mistakes him for a walker and shoots him, grazing his head.

-Hershel works on treating Daryl's wounds, Sophia's mom thanks Daryl for what he's doing, the whole group has dinner, and during this Glen and Hershels daughter exchange notes on asking each other where to meet up.

-Glen suggests the barn in his note and heads for it, only to discover that it is filled with about a dozen or so walkers.

This episode was a slight improvement. I think Darryl is my favorite character. I could really go for a huge zombie battle right about now, though. I know you guys are saying non-stop zombie action would be boring, but we're really due for one.
Spoiler relates to end of latest episode:

I think I may have my thirst for blood quenched by the residents of the barn. :D
