Werewolves & Game Jam general discussion.

I hope the perk tree makes the werewolves stronger and more durable from attacks.

And yes a guard should be thinking like that, but he is still going to have to do his job and protect the citizens. I agree with you I like the idea of a roar that makes people run in fear because who is going to stand there when you see a werewolf just roar at you. Uhh not me, and unless you have some serious balls, like the carriage driver outside of Whiterun because he came running after me and attacked me while in beast form and he chased me all the way to that guard tower that was attacked by the dragon, then he was walking in mid-air back to his carriage and it made me think he is a god.

o.o Wow shame he wasn't Redgaurd it could have been Morgan Freeman. -high pitch choir voice- LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA .... haha.

But yes, more damage and take more from enemies. That's what we're needing and if Bethesda throw in more tricks with the werewolf perk tree i'll be happy for it. Maybe bring back their increased jump height, and perhaps sprint jumping, or something really nice :)

I didn't know that, that is interesting.

So they could keep the Totem of Fear and Brotherhood, but they should give us a different Totem and let us have Detect life as a power without the Totem.
Well, my mistake. I reread it, it's not like that, but similar. Totem of the Hunt is suppose to scare everyone, except for those who have glimpsed Hircine himself, or something similar.

"The first: a carved skull, of the wolf itself. Used by those ancient shamans in the blood ceremonies that created our lineage, it is said to grant a great presence to those who prostrate themselves before it, such that those who witness their forms cower in a terror unknown except to those who have glimpsed the face of Hircine himself."

There are many perks in the Lycanthropy tree. A lot. Extra transformations, scenting, animal dexterity(claw attacks, perhaps), Toughened Hide(Better "armor"). Animal Kinship(Summon more wolves or something?). Resilient Bloodline.

That's true but there are alot we haven't seen. I don't think the animal dexterity is the claw attack, I think another one may be. I was thinking Animal dexterity may be something for sprinting or maybe jumping, but it's only speculation and could be completely wrong, but I wonder what COULD the rest be? What could this one developer have been thinking of? What ever it is. I'm sure a fully upgraded Werewolf or even Werebear with all the skills maxed out in the Lycanthropy perk tree would be a powerful physical creature. if wild werewolves are put into the game officially I think higher leveled ones would have more of those abilities unlocked so they are a challenge to battle.

Those are just my thoughts however.

Well, in Bloodmoon, Werewolves had a healing factor. If the current 2 minute gluttony session is (hopefully) axed then maybe that could see some play but considering the already prominent and lame auto regeneration system it would perhaps be redundant. They have also in the past had resistance to normal weapons which could be a nice perk to build upon. There should also be a bonus in stealth while in beast form.

And that's where Bloodmoon had an advantage in lore. I believe the healing factor werewolves had in Bloodmoon was called "Spirit of the Wolf", but to the point, I did wish the kill to survive effect was in place. If you do not kill a person or two, your health drops dramatically.

That and a forced transformation would add to the "curse" element of Lycanthropy, giving more reason for a person to cure it. While others can keep it.

Again true. But as it was stated before. They probabily won't bring back the forced transformation. Even though you and I... and others I think came up with a good way around it, with the use of a full frontal "in game" message about the up comming Lunar change. Maybe perhaps.

Stealth has been something people have wanted, and it makes sence, but if the perk tree allows for damage resistance/ armor rating (however you want to call it) well that's pretty much the same really. Perhaps, something in the perk tree will allow for either extended time from Feeding so an extra 10 seconds per feed on top of the extended 30 or extended initial time once transformed from the inital 2 minutes. We shall see. maybe fully upgrading it will give us special effects. Who knows? But what ever the perk tree entails i'm sure it'll make us all rather happier with Werewolves/bears

If the information posted earlier in this thread is true then forced transformations were in at some point but then taken out for whatever reason. I don't see why it can't be brought back in a patch or DLC. Werebears and the Perk Tree were designed in only a week right? Any bugs could have been ironed out by now. The two minute transformation should be thrown out completely and we should hunt from sunset until dawn. Or maybe the 2 minutes can be reserved for the additional, intentional, non lunar transformations.

Or I think they should keep that form of Lycanthropy, for the Companions, but also add in the "normal" Lycanthropy where you can transform at will once a day, and then on full moons you are forced to transform. That is what I would like to see.

The idea of having forced lunar changes and 2 minute willed changes was part of the idea formed in previous threads and did seem to work out with a bit of planning and thought behind it. But who knows. To be honest I'm just glad the Werewolf has a chance to be more powerful than it is right now which is something I've primarily wanted for a long time.

True I got my wish, but, you guys still want things to be as Lore. And knowing you guys are unhappy makes me sad :( I'm hoping along with the perk tree a few other things for the Werewolves are tweaked. I'm just happy alot of people have been behind me on this as I thought I was the only one who thought they were weak. it's good knowing you are apart of a group :)

It may look better but I never really saw underwater travel esthetics as a more important priority than, say? Werewolves for example. In my experiance with Skyrim, underwater travel has been pretty pointless and far inferior to that of previous ES games. But whatever, it's progress I guess.

It is really pointless in Skyrim because there is no underwater combat, speaking of which what is the point of slaughterfish if you can't fight in water?

On topic werewolves swim animation should be fixed a little to make it look more like a dog swimming than a human.
