I just hate the fact that he fell in love with his food. It's disgusting.

But on topic: Yes, it was dissapointing. At least we know it was not retconned, due to the existance of Sinding.

You have never fallen in love with your food? Haha

Yeah I agree I am glad they still kept one normal werewolf, but I didn't understand why Sinding turned into a werewolf, after he gave you the Ring of Hircine, and stayed like that forever.

He turned into a werewolf after he gave you the ring because he is more or less a regular werewolf. You can transform at will in Daggerfall too, but you still had forced transformations under a full moon regardless. I have no idea as to why he remains in werewolf form.

Lycanthropy and vampirism are afflictons. Having skill trees for them would diminish their status in the game, and make what they are a bit ridiculous. You should be incurring penalties the deeper you go into the disease, and that goes against the idea of skilling up and becoming better at something.

Which is why they should do a DLC based around Hircine, that way you can "upgrade" your werewolf form by doing tasks for Hircine, or a group that is his elite followers.

Lycanthropy was a curse or a blessing depending on how you take it. If you take it from Aela's and Skjor's side then it's sort of understandable of why there is a skill tree to heighten the powers of this physically enhancing blessing.

But I still want the skill tree. :)

Food can be so yummy you fall in love and want more.... but aye atleast it wasn't retconned, so what DID bethesda say due to the differences?

But werewolves are mentioned in the book, and they do exist, and Jacob and the others are shapeshifters. The vampires have no excuse, even though it was a really original idea I have to admit, they are not vampires they are gods because the only way for them to die is by being torn apart and burned, which can pretty much only be done by another vampire.

Please, please can we stay on topic. Not defend the woman who wrote trash and please.... twilight on Elder Scrolls? it's like doing a no.2 in church ON Jesus on the cross.

It's blasphemy.

We have to keep positive, from what I heard and read is that alot of the stuff from gamejam was well recieved, and alot of people wanted most if not ALL that was seen in the game. So i'm fairly optimistic about the Werewolf stuff. I do remember hearing the next patch would have the killcams.

The patch that just came out, 1.5 had killcams. Why would they add more? They should be adding werewolf stuff.

I attribute this to the simple lack of Lunar Transformation mechanics and Weres being messed up in general. We know the lore surrounding Werebeast and it's probably not going to change.

Some of you think the Companions are special or different. I disagree. There is no stated difference between them and any other Werebeast, only what we see of them and our own lycanthropy which we can all agree is lacking and incomplete. I believe it's the same when it comes to Sinding. The lore surrounding Werebeast has not changed and we should not impose every thing we experience in gameplay to it.

My stance is that, with both Sinding and the Companions as well as many other things that may not accurately represent lore, we can attribute to convenience or negligence by the developers. Sinding probably remains in his beast form not because of an actual lore/world reason but because the devs didn't put that one detail high on their list. The Companions don't undergo lunar transformations in-game because it would have added more variables and problems to an already glichy game. I have no true inside knowledge on these but that is what I think is the case.

Not every in-game innacuracy or amendment translates to lore or is a retcon. When an in-game scholor or a Dev comes out and says "Werewolves no longer have lunar transformations and can only transform once a day for 2 minutes for some reason." then it will be a retcon.

But the Companions are special because they made a deal with the Glenmoril Witches so they could have a special form of Lycanthropy. Plus I have read somewhere that Bethesda had werewolves that transform during the full moon, but they removed them for whatever reason.

WRT the lack of Night-Eye: the fact that you lose access to all menus pretty much means that you have only one command key (the Shout button) available for activating abilities, and since night eye is implemented as a castable power, it would compete with the others that you get (the default fear shout and the various ones that can be swapped in via totems - the mechanic of which is also necessitated by the one-button-only limitation). I'm pretty sure that's the only reason why it isn't available.

I still think it is kind of dumb that the werewolves in Skyrim do not already have those powers built in; they shouldn't need a totem to obtain those powers, except the spirit wolf one. But I do think the totem thing was a cool idea, and they should have made the abilities they gave you different and gave the ones they have to us automatically.

The spirit wolves die in like 2-3 hits from a bandit. xD

They are different in respects to the method in which lycanthropy was inflicted upon them but that is all. The lycanthropy is the same and the Glenmoril Coven have probably gifted others in this manner before just as they have cured it. I have heard nothing in-game that suggest that the Companions are different in any way. If anyone could find any evidence then I will concede but this is my stance until such a time.

The supposed differences possessed by the Companions are the lack of Lunar Transformations and full control if I am correct in the assumption of those who believe they are different. I will say again as I stated in my previous post that the lack of a forced Lunar Transformation is the problem for all Weres in the game and should be rectified and not imposed on lore. Control in beast form is debatable. I for one think that all Weres have some degree of control in their beast form but the Companions were the first to show such solid credintials in that area, besides the PC him/herself.

Now, I could be completely wrong about the Companions but this side track shouldn't distract from what we can all agree on: That Lycanthropy(and arktanthropy) need a new set of teeth in Skyrim.

I do not disagree with you that some werewolves do probably have some control of themselves, to some degree, in beast form, but I do disagree on the fact that the Companions are special. I believe in game they say that when they die and go to Hircine's Hunting Grounds they are like his generals. I have read somewhere that there was two types of Lycanthropy in Skyrim, the Companions version, and then they had regular werewolves that have lunar transformations, but for whatever reason they got left out.

I heard that "generals" part too, but I was surprised I did not hear it in the game. Most likely the werewolves that die on Nirn go to the Hunting Grounds only to show up in the Bloodmoon in Solshtheim.

I don't think the Hunting Grounds would have a city, I could be wrong though, since we know little about that realm. All I know that it's more wild than not, considering people(mortals) who went there and survived all ran through different places.

I would say Hircine's forest would look something like http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2008/07/30/travel/30frugal533.jpg. Except with larger trees and no underbrush, as the book depicted.

A http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/80/Biala_Ladecka_w_Bielicach_PL.jpg/200px-Biala_Ladecka_w_Bielicach_PL.jpg, except the water is red and could possibly be blood. http://www.ec.gc.ca/EnviroZine/images/issue29/tallgrass_large.jpg And a http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/74/IMG_7431-Sharyn_canyon.jpg. I suppose the wilderness can be their home, considering that it's the eternal chase. Though I wonder what Hircine does around all day, he must have a place to stay or something since he only appears after dark.

Edit: Off topic, but I think Hircine is a racist. Ever notice in all the games you have to kill a white animal? Spirit Bear(white) in Bloodmoon. White Unicorn in Oblivion. White stag in Skyrim. Haha.

I imagine his Hunting Ground's have forests that look both like Oblivion's forest, and Skyrim's Falkreath Hold. Also I think Hircine probably makes deals with mortals, and that kind of stuff during the day then hunts at night, I assume he doesn't have to sleep since he is a Daedra.

I don't think Hircine is racist, I think he picks white animals because they can be seen as something that is pure. If it isn't that, then he is racist against whites. Haha

I know about the purity and such. It was my exact thoughts on why he hunts white creatures. The racism thing is but a joke.

The Hunting Grounds may be like Cyrodiil's forest, though it was stated there is no underbrush and the trees are sparsely wide, so it may be nearly similar to Cyrodiil's Great Forest. But who knows why Hircine has a thing for souls? Even if not Lycanthropic. I wonder if people that are sacrificed to Hircine to go his realm to be hunted as game.

I could be wrong, but some things are able to sent souls to Daedric Princes, like Mehrune's Razor.

"Mehrunes, through the Razor, has claimed this soul." is one of the messages you get when you kill a person with Mehrune's Razor in Oblivion. Scary!

I knew the racism was a joke, but maybe Bethesda wants people to think about that, have you noticed none of the werebeasts in the games have been black??? Haha.

When I think of the Hunting Ground's I imagine Cyrodiil's Great Forest. I wonder how Hircine gets his souls, he doesn't have a weapon that can claim someone's soul when it kills them, I guess he gets souls by making pacts with people. Wouldn't Hircine have an excessive amount of Lycanthropes in his Hunting Ground's since they live forever in there, and lycanthropes are still made on Nirn.

Or sacrifices, as the Witches of Glenmoril stated in Bloodmoon. And I've been thinking the same exact thing for awhile. If Hircine hunts with werewolves, then it must be a damn army of werewolves considering all of the people that were infected from the ancient times to present day in lore. Unless he sicks them all to Nirn in the Bloodmoon or something. He could have multiple realms, as Sanguine. I remember a book mentioning his built one of his creations in a hidden realm. But it easily could be the Hunting Grounds too.

Sacrifices, I think probably are souls that go to the Hunting Grounds and become the hunted. If he sicks all of the werewolves on Nirn during the Bloodmoon, then why were there only a few werewolves on Solstheim?
Is it possible for a Daedra to have two realms I thought that threw everything out of whack.
