So What Are You Doing In Skyrim #2

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 3:23 am

Jerric the Nord battlemage had an interesting day on the road with “Mayhem” Marcurio.

First thing I should mention, they walked from Whiterun to Riften without one single hostile animal encounter. This worries me. I wonder if something is amiss in their game. If animals don’t respawn, it’s going to be a very empty world.

Second, they found a stray dog! It is pretty much impossible to get a Nord, a dog, and an irritable mage to pose for a picture, but http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Ulfe-1.jpg. It’s a picture of my TV, fair warning.

Finally, there was the incident with the assassin. Jerric managed to kill him while putting only one ice spike through the dog (she is very forgiving). He picked up the fallen sword and dagger at the same moment that Marcurio’s lightning bolt sent the body flying. Sigh. An instant later there was a huge ruckus from the bushes where Marcurio had strategically positioned himself for the battle. Storm atronach, and it was right next to Marcurio! And Jerric was now over encumbered and out of magicka! He immediately dumped a bunch of looted weapons in the road and raced to support Marcurio with shield bash and blade. I have the HUD opacity turned way down, so between the bushes, the atronach smoke, someone’s exploding fire spell, searching for whatever astonishingly powerful enemy conjured the atronach, and trying not to stab the dog, I couldn’t read any of those messages that let you know what’s going on.

Like the message that probably said “Marcurio’s Storm Atronach” while Jerric was killing it. Yeah. After they regrouped back in the road, I got an idea what had happened. Jerric had given Marcurio a bunch of stuff to carry, like their alchemy ingredients, soul gems, and all of their scrolls. Including J’zargo’s Flame Cloaks and their precious Summon Storm Atronach scroll. A glance into Marcurio’s pack told the tale. He had used one of J’zargo’s scrolls. And the atronach one. After the assassin was dead.

Also the explosion from J’zargo’s scroll blew the loot Jerric had dropped all over the place and into the bushes. He found one iron dagger. Dammit!

But at least this time no one killed the dog.

Nothing right now. What I AM trying to do is figure out how to download WoW's MoP beta - which is almost 20 gig in size.... and my upper limit is 12 gig.... and once I get to 70% of that 12 gig, I wind up with a MAJOR throttle.... *sigh* Gonna have to take the laptop to town and find someone with open wifi....

Well?

WELL... I made an Argonian (duh!) archer/restoration build, going to be playing on Master without HUD. No armor, and only the Longbow/iron arrows.

Jerian Vautrine has recovered an Elder Scroll from the depths of Blackreach. The mad scholar, Septimus Signus, had suggested that Alftand is the best way to enter Blackreach, but Jerian had heard that there were other ruins linked to the underground city. He decided to go through Mzinchaleft, and pray that it was linked to Blackreach. His prayers were answered, and he also found Mjoll's sword!

Blackreach amazed Jerian. The beauty ... He didn't run into a single Falmer either. The only other living thing he encountered was a giant, who crushed Jerian's flame atronach but ignored Jerian. He finally found his way to the Tower of Mzark, recovered the scroll and returned to the surface. He may not be in Blackreach at the moment, but he'll sure be back there soon.

He's currently in Skuldafn, trying to find Alduin's portal to Sovngarde. And hiding from the four high-level Draugr nearby ...

Claire is only a few locations and quests away from being retired :( She is up to level 60 with 300 plus hours on her. I'm sad cause I was going for level 81 with her. She has been at stage 4 vampire for over 1year ingame time and have loved every second :). Since Claire is going to be my go to dovah for dlc I have decided to get her to 81 with a certain book.

Renna gave Ulfric his axe back and is heading back to Whiterun to take part in the attack.

Jerem finally made the Dwarven Mage Armor he's been thinking about for ages.

Vanamoine, my newest character, is returning Pantea's flute, and then going back to her ciderhouse to fill some orders :D

It is done. The World-Eater has been slain.
Jerian is standing in the courtyard of High Hrothgar, staring out at the aurora and reflecting upon his journey. He rose through the ranks of the Imperial Legion and crushed the Stormcloak Rebellion; he saved the College of Winterhold, and perhaps all of Skyrim, from the Eye of Magnus and became the College's Arch Mage; and he has killed Alduin, bringer of the End Times. He feels that, finally, Skyrim is at peace.

Something that Arngeir said has made him think about his future. Many a hero allow themselves to simply ... Slip away. They make their mark on the history books and then disappear, which is castles actor what Jerian is thinking of doing. Arngeir told Jerian that there would always be a place for him in the Way of the Voice, and Jerian is seriously considering this offer. To live in seclusion top the Throat of the World, to meditate on his Thu'um and allow peace to fill him. It sounds ... Amazing. But he has other matters to deal with. His College needs tending to, and he would never leave his wife, the woman he loves.

For now, Jerian's game has come to an end. Not permanent, by any means, but for now he needs a break. He's definitely been my favorite character, and I couldn't abandon him totally. :)

Working on getting to level 50. I am level 43. It's going to be a long slog. I've got barely any mischelanious quests, one quest that bugged out, don't want to do some of them.
I don't need the Ebony Mail, I'm light armour, but if it comes to it, I can do it.
Theres not enough big stuff to kill! I'm going to have to force up my skills, maybe that will force it up faster.

The schooma quest in rifton has gone wrong. Says end the schooma operations, and there's no one left to kill.

Theres not enough big stuff to do in the game after a point. Not enough prey, not enough quests you would want to do, just endless minor quests.

It's geting boring now. :( I may do the wanted trophy and start again.

That's why I do lots of minor quests in the beginning ;) My first character is lvl 42 and still hasn't finished the Main Quest. Only completed Companions and Thieves' Guild, no other factions. But I got a little bored with her despite this, so I fully understand you. Start a new character seems like a good idea. You could always return to your old one later :)

Working on level 40 at the moment. I'm a soldier of fortune, rebuilding and re-smithing everything Sven and I collect from the hapless animals, and bandits we manage to kill.
It seems some of the southern people of Skyrim get a little testy when I start using destruction fire balls at the animals.
I made the mistake of using a shout and hitting a guard. (Sorry). He wasn't impressed at all.

After a few run-ins with the Thalmor, I've decided to take it upon myself to help out the Nords by killing everyone of these parties I find and freeing the prisoners.

My lv60 Nord Isabella Ravenwood is taking a break in Riftin on the back deck of her home with mead in one hand and her wife Aela the Huntress in the other.

Now my new lv2 female orc Nariko Red-Claw just escaped certain death at the fangs of a dragon and has settled in nicely with the residents of Riverwood. They didn't seem to mind her running around in the nvde trying to get enough crafting materials to make heavy armor. One did comment she might catch a cold to which she scoffed at. Once she got heavy armor crafted she decided to take care of some trouble makers in a nearby mine shaft... breezing through it with ease and selling the spoils.I left her last sitting by the fire in the tavern listening the Sven sing. Downing a bottle of honeybrew mead while planning out her next day's adventures. Maybe some hunting and exploring before going to the big city of whiterun. Shes fond of smithing and would likely have made some chief a great forge wife... but that life is behind her now. Skyrim awaits this young one. May she leave more scars upon it then it does on her fair green skin.

Got pissed off with my redguard, and did the wanted trophy, then deleted her.
Was not getting to level 50, at all.

Made a female bosmer/wood elf.
Zserfermidia Le Suviet. Her name means Black Acid Wings Who Break All, The, Breaker.
She has long black hair, copper eyes, bronze skin, purple cheek stripe warpaint, purple eyeshadow, red blusher, red lipstick.

They seriously need to do something about the character creater, all the eyes looked the same colour or did'nt load properly!

She is a archer, mage, swordswoman. Wears light armour and clothes. Heavy armour is pointless and mostly looks stupid.

She will learn 100 in all the magic schools, lockpicking, light armour, stealth, one handed weapons, archery, enchanting, alchemy, even pickpocketing, if she has to.

Anything to force the levels up!

I will do lots of minor quests at the start, then I won't just have them at the end, like last time. Space the big stuff out.

Avoiding The Comanpions till later. This character might not go werewolf, anyway. Or cure it.
Don't want to have to drag useless, weak Companions round in the quests. The useless Ai, nothing can be done about, but their level, I can force them higher.

Made my time in Whiterun a lot better. As soon as I got there, sneaked into Heimskrs house and headshoted him with a arrow while he was asleep. Ah, the peace and quiet, lol.

Today my Nord Shield-Maiden Tabris turned level 30 and became the leader of the Companions. Not a bad day for a Nord. Guess an ale at the Bannered Mare is on later tonight.

Sigyn found the test to join the Stormcloaks almost too easy, especially since she got potions and stuff from Galmar to make it even easier. She assumes the test was chosen for people who hardly knows how to wield a sword, not a former mercenary like herself (and she thinks it's kind of amusing that Galmar and Ulfric betted on whether she would make it or not, and that Ulfric won). She found and lost a horse and a dog on her way back to Windhelm, and also picked up queen Freydis' sword for the blacksmith (using the Kyne's Peace shout a lot). Now she just have taken the Stormcloak oath and is very happy about it.

I deleted her and made a new one. This time I will do lots of minor quests, and make sure I have something big left to force up her levels, all time.

Nariko the Orc heard rumor of ancient Nord armor in a crypt near Riftin last night after spying Aela the Huntress wearing some. Without much of a delay and with a couple potions and great sword, left Whiterun towards the yet undiscovered Riftin. It was pretty hike with pause now and again to kill those who simply chose to cross her path with weapons drawn. Stupid bandits. When will they learn that a young female orc in heavy armor and a great sword will destroy raiding parties even if the odds are greater then 5-1? Nariko did get distracted upon her arrival to Riftin and is now a member of the thieves guild. Eventually she did make it to the ancient ruins and collected a set of ancient nord armor from the first ghost she encountered. Now she's back in Whiterun talking to the companions.

I took a respite from Skyrim since January, but now I'm back in the saddle. Mind you, I don't get around to completing the MQ for a loooooooooong time in Beth's games. I haven't finished the MQ in Fallout 3 though I have several hundred hours logged. It took me a few years to finally finish Oblivion's MQ.

Gi'Anna, my female Khajiit Warrior and first toon (Level in the high 20's?), as well as Arkved, my male Altmer Mage (Level in the mid 20's), second toon, haven't seen action since January. I suspect that Gi'Anna will be the toon to complete the MQ. I honestly don't remember their last exploits. Gi'Anna finished the Companions Guild, and Arkved is somewhere in the College of Winterhold questline.

When I started playing again, I made Maylissa, a female Imperial Cleric (Level 5). She's loosely based off of a AD&D Cleric that my wife plays when we AD&D. She's preparing for a journey to Solitude to visit the Temple of the Divines. She is considering what offering to bring and leave at the altar of Arkay, her deity. She's also keeping an eye open for an Amulet of Arkay.

And then there is Conan (Level 16), who I also just created. He's been picking up work from the Innkeepers in Whiterun and Solitude, and diving into the odd dungeon during his travels. He's considering whether or not to take on a Follower because sometimes adventuring solo can be a bit...lonely. Otherwise he's content to roam the wilds of Skyrim in search of treasure and high adventure, with no real destination in mind. Oh, and he's saving coin because he has an interest in Proudspire Manor in Solitude. He's helped a few of the folks in Solitude at Queen Elisif's request, and just vanquished the Wolf Queen, Potema.

Iizlovaas do Mirdogrohiik is wandering from city to city, learning the smithing skill, but sometimes having a little break by doing a sidequest. There are barely any sidequests left in her journal! Anyway, she'll still roam the world in werewolf form and do her sightseeing pilgrimage before finally capturing Odahviing in Whiterun. Depending on the places she sees during the pilgrimage, she might even start up business as a guide to Kyne's Creations by inviting some people to go with her (for a little fee).

Got to level 23.

Szerfirmidia's weapons were'nt good enough, so she decided to go after Dawnbreaker.
It was going great till she realised Meridias Beacon was behind bars only opened by fighting Otar The Mad. A dragon priest.
She tried fighting him twice then decided to leave it for now.

Going to make some stronger armour and weapons.

Will get that priest for Molag Bal. That mace looks interesting.

Going to get a house with a proper bed.
Solitude or Markarth.

Windhelm would be nice but the chances of getting it are really low.

Blood On The Ice has gone wrong, again, I think.
Shame Calixto Corriam can't ressurect his sister in peace. She'd help him if she could.

Going to kill the bigot in windhelm, publicly or sneakily.
Public is best.
