What factions are you most allied with? (Part 2)

Post » Sat Jun 18, 2011 8:37 pm

Just goes to show you that often the Brotherhood's bravado outweighs any rational considerations of a strategy on their part. They are outgunned, outmatched, and outnumbered and they still choose to go to war.

House knew what he was doing.

The BoS, no matter what chapter, are a threat to any one in positions of power who possess or seek to posses high tech weaponry. The BoS will be diplomatic at first but if that organization refuses to cooperate with their demands, they will use force. This is one of the reasons they went to war with the Enclave, apart from the imminent threat to their existance of course.

I have two characters atm, one (Arnold Layne) is allied with Yes Man, My other character (Floyd Barrett) supports the NCR, but is on hold until OWB is released (At 157 hrs, he has been around the longest since i stopped playing Oblivion).

Not really, in both Fallout 2 and 3 the Enclave in no way directly threatened the Brotherhood at all, in both instances the Brotherhood made the first move.

This is true for Fallout 3.

In Fallout 2 however, they simply cowered in their bunker and let somone else handle it.

I give this to the East Coast BOS, at least they had the courage to meet the Enclave head on. Not so much at the purifier (since you know...the big Deus-ex machinima that is Liberty Prime did all the work) but I did have some respect for their suicidal mission at AAFB. Charging shock troops in Hellfire armor while being bombared with deadly arial assaults and flaming napalm (and being massacred as a result of it) in order to buy some time for the LW takes some guts. Its almost on part with the Enclave soldiers who fought against Liberty Prime.

I support the BoS in the East and the West. But I am more on the Capital Wasteland / Midwest Brotherhood side of the agenda. Lyon's Brotherhood of Steel is the BoS at its full potential imo.

There is some honour in that, I can respect the West Coast Brotherhood for going down for what they believe in, non-comprimising. They believe in the Codex and will die for it if need be, might not be something I believe is logical but [censored]-it I can really get behind that.

EDIT: Dam is censored, Jesus Christ.

This is true. There is a kind of honor in regards to it. Being willing to die for what you believe in is certainly a trait that merits some admiration. Even if the "cause" for the Brotherhood is trying to take more tech, but if thats what they want to die for, then more power to them.

And also the Paladins attacking the Enclave at the Satellite Relay Station. I didnt have to do any of the work if I didnt want to. And the Lyons Pride got many kills during their assualt on the Enclave. Dont exagurate. Half the time, Liberty Prime glitched out and just stood there idle after he broke through the last forcefield anyways.

...and after he's broken through the Enclave lines and thrown nukes and lasers willy-nilly. He essentially does nearly all the killings at the purifier.

The Brotherhood wouldn't have made it past the first barrier without him. He was hardly used for "support" like Elder Lyons claimed he was going to be for Lyons Pride.

Eh, honestly... for FNV i'm a House fan. Mainly because he has a plan for humanity that is feasable. While others just want to rule for the sake of ruling.

Overall though I'm a BoS fan. Though I don't really like the Mojave BoS, save for a few members.

No, not really. I'm a fan of the Capital Wasteland, the FO1 chapter (cant remember what the chapter is.), and Midwestern (FO:T). I just don't like the majority of the [censored]s in the Mojave Chapter.

Still, they got many kills on the way there and when they got to the purifier they killed everybody on the platform. They only way they all die except for Sarah and Gallows is if Liberty Prime glitches out and doesnt kill the second squad which basically amounts to an entire division. But when I gave them all Alien weapons they whiped them all out without any help from me. I just sat in the background crouched and watched as Paladin Vargas mowed them down with the http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Destabilizer. Sentinel Lyons had the Discintegrator, Paladin Glade had the Drone cannon Ex-B, Knight Captain Gallows had the Discintegrator, Paladin Kodiak had the Discintegrator, and Knight Captain Dusk had the Alien Atomizer. The Enclave didnt stand a chance.

That's very odd as the Mojave Chapter is the BoS in its tried and true form.

Eh, I should probably clarify. Well, edit my previous statement anyway. I don't have a problem with the chapter as a whole, just with some of the people in it. If that makes sense. Just waking up so I'm probably not making much of it.

They werent going to just wait for when the Enclave decided to make their first move. It was a pre emptive war, not a preventive war. It wasnt a question of if the Enclave will attack but when.

Not really, in both cases they wouldn't have or needed to directly engage the Brotherhood at all, hell in Fallout 3 the Enclave would just distribute the water like the Brotherhood did; in no way did taking the purifier endanger the Brotherhood.

Just wanted to comment on all of the Legion hate that's going on in this thread, even though I'm a tried and true supporter of the NCR the Legion is still one of my favorite factions so far in Fallout. To me they just fit the Fallout universe so well, and I always thought they had a real intriguing back story behind them too.
