What music would you like to hear in FNV?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 6:53 am

Well, a mod is all great and dandy. But it does nothing to change an opinion. You have to realize, a consistent theme is hugely important. Mess with the formula, and you'll have a bunch of angry people beaming hatemail to devs. Do I think a couple newer songs could fit the game? Yes. Would they fit the theme and stay consistent with the idyllic 50's nature? Not at all. I like new music, like anyone else. But, you can't wreck the charm and style of a game just because someone wants to hear "nu moosicz". Believe me, there will be a mod. Enjoy it. And if your on a console, listen to your iPod or something. Not difficult. Just don't pollute the vanilla game needlessly.

Lol. Nu Moosicz. Haven't heard that one yet.
Mod nothing. I have a 200 dollar Ipod Touch, I can stream my 40's and 50's radio detective shows like Box 13 and Boston Blackie, or whatever else I wanna listen to just sitting there on my couch and enjoying it.

Oh, god yeah. So do I. Usually I just use the pandora app and pick 50's music when F3's music started to wear on me. And if I really want to listen to other stuff, I can do that too. It's easy. :D

I personally would love to see Nina Simone, some more Louis Armstrong, and some rat pack, i.e, Sinatra, Martin, Davis, and I can never remeber the fourth guy. But for all you people talking about rap/metal are people effin insane! This game is based on the pop culture nastalgia and government paranioa of the 1950s. That crap music did not even exist back then, and would totally kill the atmostsphere of the game.

Also TestEcull First: Metallica, Alice in chains, Disturbed, and Breaking Benjamin are S.H.*.T, Second: for the people, including me, that have be playing the series since it first came out that music does ruin the atmostsphere, and nothing is worse than following a franchise for 13 years and then having some "noob", or whatever the hell you people call each other, try to taint it tastless music.

Anyone who would listen to contemporary music while playing Fallout, is probably the same type of person who sets Fallout 3 music videos to Linkin Park.

In any case...

[censored] the radio, i think they should put all kinds of modern music on a sound track that can be acessed through the pause menu, sure they can still have the radio, but they should make a sound track with some heavy metal, and some rap/hip-hop.

Taste in music notwithstanding, it would definately kill the mood. Like attatching a Linkin Park sound to a WoW youtube video.

Agreed, agreed, agreed.
I find it hilarious how many people don't give a crap about atmosphere, and how many people ruin a fantastic Youtube video with some sort of rubbish music.

I think the game's music should be defaulted to convey the "atmosphere" the devs intended for the game. But lets all be truthful here, 70 hours of the same 6 songs will make anyone feel a bit insane, well unsane with a nervous tic at the very least. I must agree with everyone that thinks we should be aloud to swap music tracks so we can alter the games "atmosphere" to what ever we want it to be. Hell we all paid damn good money to be entertained, and frankly no selection and I mean NO SELECTION of 6 songs can ever be that entertaining for too long, and it would really ruin the "atmosphere" in my opinion if I end up dreading listening to the radio station in New Vegas all together like I did in with the factory radio in fallout 3.

Yes, it is true there will be mods to assist us in this endeavor but really? Would it be that hard to make us fans and consumers happy right out of the box. In my opinion it is a waste of time to make a guaranteed to be annoying 6 song radio station in the game when that time could have been spent making some other part of the game better considering that a bunch of us are already waiting for the first opportunity to listen to what we want while we play our sure to be favorite game. If they are going to include a radio why go all half-assed on it. plus am i led to believe that in all the time since the "1950's" not one person in the fallout universe took an interest in adding anything creative to music at all? It's a shame for music to lack any innovation and to remain stagnant for so long (even in a fake universe).

Disclaimer: This is just my opinion and if you don't like my opinion you can bet I'll dislike your equally as much, so don't waste your time. Pre-denial of your jerkface comment complete, you may continue your day now in peace.

I love the old music. Keep it please and songs we don't hear either. I liked hearing some of the older music I didn't know about. That music just gets stuck in your head, but I would like more songs.

I want a lot of Sinatra to get thrown in the mix. It fits in nicely, and they already used the song in the first reveal trailer (Blue Moon I think it was called).

Personally I think the music should stay with the era of music they have been using. I would like to see more songs than just a handful. I think 20 to 30 songs would be great, but also have a radio station that played out of our music folder. I know you can set it up so you can hear your own music but I really enjoy the "breaking news". I have faith in the developers of the game and I am sure they will do whats best for the game, besides every game just keeps getting better so I'm not really worried
