I'll start off by saying in real life i'd never play any music that came befor the late 70's and very little that came befor the 90's since i mostly listen to heavier industrial or punk music, however for fallout the old music add's to the ambience of the game my only complaint about fallout 3's radio station was that there weren't nearly enough songs. i'd like to see mabey 10x as many but i'd also like more public service anouncements and mabey even some commercials for the casino's or nuka cola or the like inbetween songs.

They should totally just create an 80's-90's Metal radio station for those who likes killing with fitting music :goodjob:
And by that I am not referring to the screamy kind, mind you!

Wow there're so many retards on this thread! Eminem??? Death metal???? I hope your joking. ( My thread is better it actually has fallout music) Where is Benny Goodman??? Elvis??? Cab Calloway???

Couldn't agree more- if it isn't classic Americana (30s, 40s, 50s) or instrumental ambiance, it doesn't belong in the game. People seem to have completely missed the point.

How about "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by Judy Garland? Not sure if it would fit the Vegas theme, as opposed to the overall "Fallout" theme.

Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, etc- classic Western songs from the 30's and 40's. An example is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XcYsO890YJY- in fact I think this particular song would fit brilliantly in New Vegas, and hope the developers consider using it. :-p

I say screw it all, the devs needs to set it up where theres a "music" folder and all we have to do is just simply drag and drop our favorite music to the folder and it will play on the radio stations. I do that all the time with Silent Hunter IV, I have music set up by era then by year within that era and I just open the folder and drag the music to the game folder.

Best idea, if they include the original music on the stations with it, the people who just want to listen to those songs an infinite amount of times can do that, while othrs can put whatever they want on it.

People are going to be spending hundreds of hours in this game.

With Fallout 3, after the first play-through (or perhaps some time during the first) I turned off the background music. I dig it reasonably though it is a little generic and "battle music" just gets on my nerves. I do a lot of careful sneaking and sniping and whatnot.. Do I really want the atmosphere to be completely changed and epic, dramatic action music to play every time I get involved in combat? No. It is such a literal and heavy-handed musical choice to just blast something actioney whenever there is combat, when it might be more poignant or tense to continue underscoring atmosphere or subtext. Anyway, for me, the "score" got disabled to make it possible for me to play this thing for 200 hours without going crazy.

That's a lot of hours without variety of music, so on my recent re-play-through I modded myself a radio station with some Radiohead albums on it (Kid A, Amnesiac. The most.. 'apocolyptic' of their albums) and some Miles ([censored]es Brew) to make things a little more interesting. It was nice, but actual in-game support of such a thing is what we need. Clearly everyone has different taste and different ideas about what would complement their Fallout experiences. A user radio station (with adjustable volume in relation to the other stations - those CD mastered tracks are loud compared to, say, GNR) would give people that chance without dictating a set experience for everyone.

Well, Mad World and The end of The World were in Gears of War and in End War. Fallout is dark, but it's not at all depressing, so I just personally don't thin that mad World would fit. The other is good though.

Talkin' World War III Blues (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X82MH0K0lIQ<< involves communists!) or Hard-Rain's a-Gonna Fall by Bob Dylan (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSr32dY8ApA<
Any of those pre-1965 protest songs -- you don't want any songs post-1965 songs otherwise it turns hippie and loses the whole feel of the game. It would be best if the Fallout gang kept the songs that had the most irony - "I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire" was just perfect!

I think some old western songs would be great even if one or two since people seem to hate country so much. Gene Autry would be perfect and I would like some Hank Sr. too.
