I dont know about you guys, but bring back the good ol' american M-16. The FN was a joke in Fallout 3, if you liked it, your a lier or french.

Also, some better pistols. After an hour in-game (roughly one minute real-time) i realized the pistols were pretty useless up to a point. Only the N99 10mm had any uses and only in the beginning or the silenced for stealth characters later in the game. Thats it. The .32 was garbage and so was the Chinese Pistol. Even their uniques were garbage.

Also, more variety please for the love of god dont make me download a bunch of mods for more guns. I'm not asking you to stockpile the wasteland, but how about variety?

Don't know if it can run, but would be funny to find a guy somewhere with a wickedly sharp sword, "Eli's Blade." =) (First saw that trailer, thought there might be a Fallout Flick, so sad).

New long range, bolt action rifles with sighting, or better sighting. Felt like the auto Sniper Rifle was a bit hard to sight and shoot even at max skill level (tore that @#$ up with Lincoln's Repeater though). Other weapons with a sight feature is part of my vote.

And with others, vote for more craftings, or newer crafted special weapons. Wasn't super thrilled at the damage done by the railaway rifle, but damn, that was a great concept. Love having to keep the stuff you gather to make awesome weapons.

Actually yes, that's probably the most important thing. More variety. I don't even mind if the weapons are confusingly similar, as long as I at least have a few of every weapon type to choose from (six different types of assault rifles, ten different types of pistols, five different types of revolvers, etc.).

I think that while there are weapons that fall under classes like small guns, each skill class for weapons should have a sub class in which types of weapons have their own. Like a shotgun sub class, so that instead of their being one or two shotguns or two or three pistols there should be something like five to each class just for the sake for variety. I know some people say not to complain about the number of weapons, saying that it is all lot of extra work to make these individual weapons. I think that it would be more benificial for the overall quality of the game, and if there is trouble with diverting time and development on making a wider veriety of specific weapons maybe the devs should consirder devoting less time on the making of unique weapons, I really liked the unique weapons but overall I would exchange them for a wider variety of common weapons. However one weapon class in FO3 that I thought was plentyful was the melee weapons. I can imagine a power meeting of devs shouting out the random junk that they would want to hit some one over the head with.

By the way i am not saying that there weren't enough weapons, IMO there were more than FO1 and 2 combined, but I think that the standards are rising higher as to the variety of weaponry. Just look at borderlands, almost too much variety... in fact I think Bethesda and who ever else is Developing NV should look into taking a page out of that book.

Like it's already been asked. PLEASE add the .223 Pistol. I had so much fun with that pistol in the old FO's.

Some kind of advanced M1 Carbine/Rifle would be cool too.

Same goes for M-14.

Also, some kind of Colt .45 and Tommy would add to the Mobster feel of Las Vegas. (Bugsy Siegal was a Mobster, who made the Flamingo Hotel/Casino, so that would be appropriate I think?)

Hell Yes on the Mobster guns and casinos. honestly I liked some of the guns in FO3 and think we should keep some of them but as far as modern weapons go? NO they ruin the appeal. there are way too many games out now with the newest guns and to stray from that would make me so happy. Throw in some new and interesting melee weapons and I'm pretty much set

Type III milled AK's early 1950's.

Full size UZI early 1950's.

Colt 1911 duh 1911...

Walther PP or PPK 1930's.

P08 Luger early 1900's...

Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" early 1900's

I dont think there should be so many classical weapons really, it just doesnt make sense, especially not just because they are some peoples favourites. I think that the weapons should mostly be original and only based on real weapons in the mildest way. it would be ok if there were a few exceptions but otherwise nothing about the weapon iventory would be remotely inspiring.

If I wanted my favorite guns, I'd ask for Glock's and MP5's... Now that I think about it, the FBI used to have 10mm H&K MP5's. And the Glock 20 is a 10mm pistol... I may get my wish! :P ;)

Who said that humanity's struggle for survival and perpetual decline into war had to be inspiring? :P

And honestly, how much can a simple pistol really change? Sure, you can add lots of aesthetic bits and make it look all future-y, but it'll still accomplish the centuries-old task of throwing a slug out of a metal barrel.

Ergo, I still vote for a good ol' boom-stick and a solid sidearm with good stopping power.

A little thing you learn in the military, or just plain old gun training with pistols, is stopping power is not a major factor with a pistol; but placement is. :gun:
