What do you want most in New Vegas?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:29 am

I'd like the ability to go into more buildings, less massive walls of rubble, and a more in-depth close combat system with broader choices of weapons, like a laser whip or something.

What I wish the most is a non-crappy port for the PS3. No game-breaking crashing bugs please.

Funny!
More balance so that you are not god and that an option to turn off quest markers to make the game harder.

Isometric camera and turnbased tactical combat.

I keed, I keed.

At this point, what I'm expecting is a slightly tweaked (for the better) version of the messed up shooter mechanics of F3, tweaked SPECIAL system, lack of level scaling, MCA-quality writing to some extent and a gameworld that is consistent with original Fallout-lore.

It would be nice if the factions of the game were handled so that none of the major ones were your enemies in the beginning, but through your choices you'd turn some of them into such. Barring some occasional bandits and wildlife (which should have better AI so that critters don't necesserely be hostile on sight and then chase you to the worlds end, but something like what Risen did).

Let's not get into this discussion, but needless to say, I disagree.

Another thing I absolutely expect in the game is crates.

I loved Fallout 3, so I don't have much to complain about. The only suggestion I can make is regarding the radio station options. Other than Galaxy News Radio (which rocked!), there weren't any other stations in Fallout 3 that I could listen to for longer than a few minutes. Perhaps include additional stations?

This is of course assuming that there will be radio stations operating in New Vegas!

Actual character development.
Party members with personality so they feel real.
Factions that have their own motives besides just being good and bad.
They fix the Karma system so it isnt black and white.
An engaging storyline that isnt just 2 hours long.

With Obisidian making it I have high hopes that they'll focus on the above mentioned and not go "okay guys we made a world, screw the story just mindlessly wander it!"

Karma means something
More detailed longer side quests
Quests for every major area--no more Fort Bannister/Evergreen Mills with no related quest.
Joinable factions
Companions with more complete personalities who can follow you over all terrain.
Modable weapons
More than 2 pieces of armor
Realistic settlements/towns
Better animations

Better animations

I think it's using the FO3 engine, so I'm (angrily) not too sure about better animations.

I think it would be cool, if you had the option to choose your backgroundstory like in Arcanum. With advantages and disadvantages appropriate for each. And of course the option to not choose a "no significant background" that has no advantages or disadvantages.

Expanded repair system that makes sense
greater variety of firearms (especially pistols with actual stopping power and a pump shotgun)
customizable armor combos (ie: Oblivion)
NO karma system. Just decisions that impact things farther down the road, regardless of "good" or "bad"

Everyone's already said about everything else.

I want a better Karma system
More powerful pistols for the ladies that don't want to look like Dykes
Dragon Age's companion system BUT optional.
I don't want to have pay for companions. Makes me feel like I'm buying a hoker.
I want better hair styles.
I want clothes that move, like there's a gust of wind and you're hair blows and you're shirt ripples.

Oh, and I want gambling and designer clothes for Tenpenny feel sorta...but nothing like Tenpenny tower...that place was like Paris Hilton's vag, dirty, smelly and overrated.

Wow, I actually liked the karma system in Fallout 3! I hope it's implemented in New Vegas, as well.

Other than an even larger map (woo hoo!) offering hundreds of hours of gameplay, I would recommend an increased variety of custom made weapons, additional food items, and collectible items, like the bobbleheads from Fallout 3.

How about better enemy A.I.?
Its terrible they had to make a mod for Fallout 3 to get the A.I. to use cover.

How about more information on the world outside the sandbox?
Would be nice to see whats going on in places like China, Russia, the UK, and other parts of America and Canada.

More variations in Weapons and Armor, and less generic names?
"Combat Armor - Tennpenny Combat Armor - Talon Combat Armor - ect" with different colors was just terrible, terrible.
Assault Rifle and Chinese Assault Rifle? Cmon guys, you can do better than that.

How about a less amount of resources?
200 years later i shouldnt be able to go into a power station and come out with 10 fission batteries and tons of sellable scrap.

Heres a hint at what gamers want:
Pop in over at fallout3nexus.com and check out the Top 100 Mods. Thats what people want.

Just from the Top 10 you can see that what peopel crave are amazing looks. Better face animations, better terrain textures, better weapons animations, ect.

78,388 people shouldnt of had to download a mod to get better energy weapons graphics. http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8340

P.S. - I'm currently attending school for Marketing, would love to work for Bethesda or a parent company. ;)

Marcus would fit more than Fawkes here.

that stuff RUINED fallout 1 & 2......why would you want it?

The lack of "that stuff" ruined Fallout 3, actually. But sadly, there's not a chance of turn-based combat being in FNV given that Bethesda is the publisher.
