What do you want most in New Vegas?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:43 pm

I would love to have an easter egg encounter with the Buddy from Six-String Samurai (or similar facsimile), as he's on his way to New Vegas to become the "King". That would be great, lol.

Better writing suited to BOTH genders. The writing was really shoddy for the female characters in FO3 and obviously tacked on at the end of production for the females.

I'd like something a little more in depth or gender neutral. More options for conversation with random people and over all better writing.

Also, GHOULS! There's Necropolis not too far in Cali, so obviously there'd be ghouls if they wanted to expand and travel outwards!

Super Mutants!

The ability to drive! Preferably Motorcycles.

The ability to join more teams EARLIER on in the game then FO3's 'technically you are a member now after the game is almost ended'.

The ability to CLIMB OVER DEBRIS.

Able to have more then two followers.

Better animations and graphics.

Less stuttering in random areas.

Less major bugs that stay un-fixed.

An enviroment a lot like a larger detailed "The Pitt" in some areas.

More Jericho-like companions.

More varied combat.

Ability to wield a gun in each hand (2 10mm pistols for example), maybe with a perk.

More visceral carnage and gore.

More "Boom" to the sound of gun's discharge.

More populated settlement's/towns/areas with extra things to do (like gambling or stage shows, c'mon it's Vegas!).

More restrictions (Ammo with weight, limited healing item usage, etc.)

SLOWER LEVELING!!!!

The Enclave (remnants, but at least some small minor tiny organized action)
Master's Army Remnants (Marcus! Or whoever was that mutant companion in FO2)
A better ending than in Fallout 2
Real bad guys, not just an evil overlord who is evil for the sake of being evil.
Vertibird transport.

Also, what I DON'T want in NV is mafia. I always found it rather ridiculous, for some reason.

Seconded.

I'd also like to add, lots lots lots lots more music!! Yes! From the 40s and 50s. That stuff just ..... rocks.

Plus, the music is just so fitting. I couldn't imagine looting the Wastes without good 'ol Ella Fitzgerald and the like groovin' some good tunes. :)

Chances are they'll be there. That's where my bet is at least. I hate them too, they were lame in Reno.

I would also really like to see more interaction between populace. ie: Someone stops by a town to trade and things like that. Or someone isn't allowed into a town and you see him and someone arguing at the entrance and he gets shot. Raider and mutant attacks on townss etc. That would be awesome.

I originaly wrote this on another site but I own the copyright :

New Vegas needs lights, gambling, the mob, at least two of them like in Reno [Fallout 2 I think], Area 51 could be where bother the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave are trying to get in and you can chose your faction or start your own band of outlaws or treasure hunters based on weather you are good or not. more places to live at varying prices, Vegas would be expensive, Death Vally would not, all-though it would make a great base of operations for your bandits or hunters with more customisable options based on what type of group you are and as odd as this sounds you can store your followers there, oh and a kennel for Dogmeat!
Also romance would be interesting like Mass Effect 2 and characters who follow you around need more speach options and comentary in conversations and during missions.
Another thing that would be good is it not being banned in Australia for another month after launch.

I personally would like a different aiming system (the weird rectangle thing didn't do it for me), but I'm scared that it might then turn into something to FPS-y.
Like my friend asked, Why are you playing fallout for ACTION?
In that regard, I want a completely real feel, so no glitches, bugs and a different karma system. A karma system that is curved. So that way when your at messiah status, if you kill someone, it drops down really fast. That way you REALLY have to work for karma. (I know there is bound to be glitches and bugs, but hopefully none that will take away from the immersion, so no infinite caps!!)
A larger wasteland with a lot more smaller to medium sized areas. Places like Arefu to big town to Andale more scattered out through a complete wasteland.
And a bigger war ^_^ The Enclave and BoS battles in FO3 never felt epic enough until Broken Steel. But the drain on one's CPU would be massive -.-
More freaky plot twists. Like I LOVE discovering vaults and what experiments they were used for. Stuff like that.

Thats it for now. Gahh I can't wait for New Vegas!!

AND Charisma doing more, so like the guy said above me, lets get our own factions if we can. So if we are charismatic, we can persuade people to follow us! That'd be insanely awesome!

-Great and engaging story with better writing and better dialog with Npcs. Npcs dialog were dull in fallout3, they need to be more like fallout1/2
-The setting should be like New Reno in New Vegas. With lots of gangs and mobsters, we should have quests involving those gangs.
-Casinos
-Vehicles
-Bozar!

Zebani you just reminded me of an idea I had while playing Fallout 3 seeing all the motorcycles cause all I wanted to do is fix one and drive into the dust.

Some kind of vehicular transport preferably a motorcycle
More places to live, in Fallout 3 I always tried to find different places where I could store my loot since I kind of got sick of the Megaton House
Casinos
I guess in New Vegas since it looks so developed it should have its own Police Force who you could possibly join up with

-Groomy feelingto the game, more of the feeling that u are alone, so you can really feel good when someone joins your group.

-NO RAG DOLL EFFECTS like in FO3. Seriously, seing how 200Kg Mutant is flying in the air because of my marvelous gun crit is pathetic. (include this in the bloody mess perk if you want)
- DRUGS, Alchochol, prosttutes, illegal fights, the whole lawless feeling that was in the FA1&2
- Deeper story that makes sense. The story in FA3, though good was kind of hasty. Your father treated u like u were his step child or something :)
- Make us starve for resourses! in FA3, even on hard u can find a lot of amunition and guns. Just for example- in FA2 u had to save@load for 10 minutes until u stole ur first iron armour.
- Make power armour a bit unique. Make us jump a bit higher or somethng. Make us feel powerful in it. (maybe we cannot be dazed from krits to the head or something). It is funny to have a leather armour that is almost as powerful as power armour (rangers quest in FA3 comes in mind)
- As different post suggested- No More Teleportation, let us explore the wastland, this is why you made the whole game- its a BIG WASTLAND, let us see it! Invent some other way of quick moving, not teleportation to cities taht you know. In FA2 you could fast travel, but this was interesting also because of the random ivents that could happen (based on luck or explore skill) In FA3 whenu know where the alienblaster is, alhtough u have 1 luck, u can go, take it and start killing Deathclaws with 2 hits.
- More random (neutral) NPC's (not vital ones) that you can just kill if u deciude to be acting like an idiot.
- More places that normal quests will never lead you to, unless you discover them by exploring. They should reward you with some interesting items, or some events.

Last but not least

- MORE DARK HUMOR, a lot more. FA series are famous not only about their grey post apoc environment, but also for the absolutely amazing humor.

I want it to feel the desperation of a wasteland. Fallout 3 didn't feel as if people had to do much to survive.

-Neutrality in the story. A black and white hero and villain story is stupid. Let us pick sides, and don't make the antagonist "hehehe, I'm so EVIL!"

-The Elvis outfit. I don't see why it's so far-fetched. Just make it a hard to find easter egg, like Lincoln's hat in FO3.

-No Enclave. Their cool, yet FO3 made them look like tools, and turned them into the generic bad guys.

-Everything else has been said
