It will be bigger than the usual fallout dlc but not quite as big as shivering isles or other $30 dlc, seriously the price is a pretty good deal. The only time when i felt i overpaid for dlc was with gta 4 when one of the addons was $30.....and the game was $20.

The Shivering Isles for OB was $30. The reason Dawnguard is $20, is because it's an expansion, and not just normal DLC.

Wow guys really? This is still going on?

Price is 1600 msp or 20.00 as stated by bethesda when they released the trailer.

This is more than knights of the nine, which was a good questline but short at 10.00

Less than shivering isles which was huge with tons of new quests for 30.00

Bethesda has already told us many times in the past that they are making medium sized dlc for skyrim, leaning toward something the size of shivering isles and point lookout.

This price is absolutely appropriate for that content. There are 60 dollar games out there with less content than that.

And where are some of you pulling a 40 dollar pricetag from? Do microsoft points cost double in other countries or something? Its just $19.99 here in the US.

Plus there is going to be much more than what is in the trailer, as there always is with bethesda dlcs. E3 hasnt arrived yet, probably saving all the juicy info for then.

I'm not used to paying for DLC (Valve games) and especially not €20 which is what I bought Morrowind for, but I think it's more than reasonable. An expansion's worth consists of more than just sheer land; think of the crossbows and the vampire enhancements...unless you don't care about vampires.

That said, my favourite kind of expansion is a new playable area with all sorts of new items and miscellaneous quests, like Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles, but you can't have one of those with every single expansion. AFAIK, only one of Fallout 3's five expansions features an area that exists for more than just a main mission or questline.

From the looks of the trailer we get a daedric realm to explore (either coldharbor or soul cairn)

Obviously, did anyone see how big each castle looks? Clearly these have to be a far ways away and if you can get to both by walking imagine how big the area is..

I haven't seen anything. I must have missed it

Oh yes, I'm pretty happy about that. But I suspect that it will be small and plot-focused, like Paradise in Oblivion.

If it's sizeable and freely accessible, then that's a lovely new modder's resource.

Twenty dollars is a decent price for an expansion pack, I don't know what the huge deal with that is, if its just a DLC then yeah its a rip iff but I think its far more than some added weapons and vampire animations.

With this 1600 MSP [censored]? We waited 8 months just to get word of any info whatsoever..

Get this amazing sneak peak trailer, which made me extremely, EXTREMELY excited! Then I happen to go over to the "Details" about the video and it states just that.

I myself haven't personally been here in a long, long time because my Laptop recently died on me. But once I saw this atrocity.. I had to say something.

So, why exactly are we paying DOUBLE what we normally do for your add-ons? I'm hella curious...

Your pissed about the price?
Im pissed about xbox users getting the dlc in the summer, while ps3 and pc users have to wait until the holidays.

There is only a month after the release on Xbox it might still yet be released in the summer for everyone at least one can hope, the whole exclusivity thing for one month is a bit redundant in my humble or maybe not so humble opinion.

As far as we know, Microsoft gets one month of exclusivity. Zahc is probably Reggie Fils-Aime.

You're overexaggerating.

My prediction is that Dawnguard is going to be released within a couple weeks of E3, at the latest. Bethesda doesn't wait very long to publish their expansions after they've revealed them. You'll probably be able to play it by the end of July in the worst case scenario. That's hardly the 'holidays.'

As for the topic of this thread; to the OP, you probably aren't very familiar with out Bethesda works the Elder Scrolls expansions. They're nothing like Fallout where the player only gets a couple hours of extra playtime -- those are worth the 800 MSP, unlike expansions like Shivering Isles.

I hope they open up the beta when acception letters go out next week.

They are obviously done if they showed us the trailer and have a price. All that is left should be bugsquashing.

Why are you gettin angry over a 40 dollar dlc? So what you're expecting a whole new elder scrolls game? Its dlc dude jesus!! 40 dollars probably means its 2/3 the size of Skyrim. If that doesnt excite you enough then get the hell out of tes series!!
1600MS points is $20

This is what I am thinking I think they will release the game around about July sometime and if not August but I am pretty sure it will be July after people Beta test it and after the madness that is E3.

I am curious just how much content this expansion will have guess we all have to wait next week to figure that out its all speculation right now.

1600MS points is $20

Which really isn't asking all that much if you ask me, it's as much as a pre-owned game, I think you can get Skyrim pre-owned for $30ish( Can ) these days  so $20 really isn't over charging imo
