So, who is looking forward to the arbitrary month-long wait

Why feel bad for PS3 players. They have to wait 30 days just like the PC players. That's not that long. 360 will be the beta test.

Oh I misunderstood, since you specified PC and didn't add PS3 as well, it was a bit confusing as to what you were implying.

Well, i was replying to "MS screwing over PC users", what does PS3 have to do with that? :hehe:

Oh well, The month exclusive rights bought by Microsoft is just a way for them to make their platfrom seem best. By this time in the XBox's lifecycle it's practically marketing for the XBox 720. That apparently is it's official name

Because PC users atleast got the Creation Kit, tons of mods and high-resolution texture pack. PS3 users got nothing but the worst port in the console's history. As for the "bug testing" argument, PS3 got the Fallout 3 DLC last, and as a compensation for the long wait, the DLCs made the game unplayable

Think I can wait a month. Let them see what needs work first and solve it before I get the DLC.
And you do realize that not everyone has a interest in mods?

If the first DLC comes around may, I'll be grateful that Bethesda decided to release it for PC users one month late cause I'll have time for finishing Risen 2! :D

Lol'd. Biased thread is biased. I'm playing on the 360, so I'm SUPERULTRAMEGA happy about getting a month before everyone else.

Because PS3 players had to Alpha test the game.

PS3 is in the same boat, this thread is not about mods, it's about DLC.
MS isn't screwing anyone over, they are simply doing what they feel is best for their console. Sony could do the same with their PS3 if they so desired.

Edit: Why does everyone think MS is paying to disadvantage other platforms? They are not, they simply are giving the Xbox an advantage, what the hell is wrong with that? I guess, people just have to have someone to blame. =/

I see one of two things with the new DLC.

It will have what a lot of modders have already created on the PC version OR it will then be modded to mimic or be better than the DLC by the time it's available for the PC.

Don't worry, us XBOX users will make sure to keep you posted on all the juicy details.
This, PC and PS3 users are probably going to want to leave this board to us for a month unless they want to know everything about it.

I'm nowhere near done with the game. Played for about 200 hours and I haven't finished any guild quest lines, civil war quest line or main quest line yet. With the CK out there are so many mods coming out that it'll take me a long time to pin point the best ones, so I'll probably be about ready to start a new game once the first DLC hits the street.

Oh noes, Xbox 360 users get the first 2 items of Skyrim DLC 30 days before anyone else? That makes me like totally jelly, I mean us poor slobs on PC only get access to the creation kit and a database of thousands of free mods while you guys on Xbox 360 get access to 2 pieces of DLC (which you need to pay extra for) a full 30 DAYS before everyone else, so jelly right now.

But seriously has there been any word on Official DLC yet? Like when we can expect an announcement or something?

I guess it all depends on how good the official DLC for Skyrim is but I know this certainly wasnt the case for Oblivion, unofficial mods did far more to enhance my game in Oblivion than any of the official mods could ever dream of doing, I mean the only real noteworthy DLC for Oblivion was Frostcrag Spire and we got player homes that either rivaled it or far surpassed it in terms of quality. Dont be so quick to dismiss all user created mods as "poorly written and buggy" because there are some very talented modders out there who do put out high quality mods.

Also does anyone know if Valve have any plans to release any other mods for Skyrim? I noticed that the Space Core Mod was Volume 1, does this mean that Valve plans to release more?

Remember, microsoft and Bethesda agreed on a deal where the 360 gets DLC first, and everybody else has to wait a month. Won't that be fun?

Hi Fuzzy_Logic! How's everything?

I don't think it's arbitrary. Bethesda decided to reward 360 gamers for their prominent market share. I have no problem with that. It gives the rest of us plenty of time to check it out before making our minds about buying it. The way I see it there's nothing unfair or unreasonable about this decision.

Empty landscapes and text-based questlines don't really compare.

The DLC will likely introduce a load of new bugs. So good luck to the XBOX users who will be beta testing it.

When I heard this I didn't care, I thought, well, its only another month, well, after I have played skyrim thoroughly, and DLC hasn't even been announced, then yeah, I'm getting impatient

Even if no single mod tops SI, there are lots and lots of small mods with beautiful questlines. And if that fails, I just install Deadly Reflexes, Unnecessary Violance or Midas Magic and play the game again with improved combat mechanics.

PC users got dual wielding YEARS before xbox got it, so enjoy the month. Everything that earns Beth extra money is good for everyone, in the end.

This has never bothered me. Besides, a game like skyrim can easily tide you over until it's released for everyone else.

Not on this board but on the other one, yes. They did even allow discussion of a "certain game that wasn't out in the stores yet and nobody really saw anything" :D

Yep, they're going to let the people who are helpless before bugs beta test it. I would have been so [censored] without the console already and there have been three patches.
