Elder Scrolls wiki grabbed top spot in the google search...

All the new players that don't know about UESP have moved over to Elder Scrolls Wiki since it has a more generic wiki name and comes up first.

I find it really sad, UESP put over a deacde into supporting a wiki for the Edler Scrolls series, and then some upstart generic wiki beats it out sincei t has a more generic name.

On the bright side, UESP is much more moderated and checked, if oyu read somethign there, 95% chance it is true.

For those that don't know it: http://www.uesp.net/

I'm with you guys. I've been using the UESP since before it got wikified.

I expect some more Skyrim info when the CS gets released.

I only use Uesp

Edit: And to be honest having just looked at the wiki, it looks a mess compared to Uesp. Uesp is much better in it's layout

I've found them both useful. Sometimes one has something the other doesn't have.

The wiki seems better for quest walkthroughs and item information. But UESP's bugs/discussion sections are always useful.

I remember that good old greyish 90's style site. :)

When I started playing Morrowind they were in the process of transfering to the wiki format, so I got to use the old ssite for a while.

I've found them both useful. Sometimes one has something the other doesn't have.

And thatts te problem that happens when you get multiple wikis.....infomation gets scattered and there isn't a single good site.

UESP works better honestly and isn't a ad-filled pile of refuse.

Yeah, but UESP would be more useful if they had a page that listed all known quest bugs instead of making you read every quest to find out whether it was bugged or not. I'd like to know if a quest is bugged before I start it and without having to read the walkthrough cause of the spoilers. Don't know why the UESP moderators refuse to do that, but they have in red letters not to post any quest related bugs on the bugs page.

That is my only complaint about the UESP site though and overall I find it to be a great resource for all TES games and I have used it often and contributed on occassion.

I find it really deep in info to be honest, so that is far from being dead. Been UESP fan for many years now. However I admit, that I do use both now.

I use the wiki... i work for the army and they block most game related sites... the wiki and these forums being an exception. But i wouldn't be suprised if they do block it. Sad. Disgruntled. But not suprised. I work to support freedom but have less of it myself..

Edit: i have used uesp and prefer it.

UESP is definitely the better site for the series in general. There've been a few times I've had to go to the other one for some Skyrim-related info that UESP didn't have, but that's been a pretty rare occurance.

To be honest I use both.

Regarding the ads, there are ways to block them so it's a non-issue for me...

The wiki has better navigation and there are no ads if you use the adblocker addon for your browser. Uesp has better information on how to deal with bugs and glitches.
