Why are console players getting less than the PC players?

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 9:46 am

The PC players have mods, more patch support from Bethesda and the awesome console. And we? Our game feels dumbed down. I've been following the franchise since Morrowind. They even took our console afterwards! I accept the patch and the mods thing as Micro$oft and $ony are to blame but at least the [censored] console should have been left for us.

Because PC's can handle it and are built for it, consoles are not. I'm a 360 player and i accept the terms when i buy TES for console instead of PC

Because they are consoles, and consoles can't handle it. Sorry.

PC get that because a PC is more powerful and capable of this than the Xbox and PS3. If your so mad about it, you should save up for a computer

I'm failing to see why the console players can't handle the console feature. Other RPG games like Two Worlds (if you really consider it as an RPG, lol) have a console too. I have it on the 360.

Uhm... We get a little bit more, yes, but you know Skyrim was built for the Console, right? :) Therefore, we are playing ports.

Keep in mind this generation in consoles is when the online portion of it really exploded, a lot of the online features on consoles and even games were just an afterthought when the PS3 and 360 were first released. I think we'll begin to see the line between PC and console blur a little more with the next generation console as they'll have more online features in mind, I mean we're getting TV's with wi-fi nowadays

What to you expected? A Cooler Master is much more powerfull than an Xbox 360 or a Ps3.On Pc you can acess the game database,if you could do that at a Console(higly unprobaly until the next generation) you could literaly [censored] your game disc with no fix. Also to be able to use mods at the Ps3 you need the game database like in the Pc...so...

Like I said, I accept that we won't get mods and not the 100% of the patch support the PC players get.
I'm still upset about the in-game console.

This game looks like crap, has a xbox UI, bad animations, and content was limited to what could fit on a crappy DVD. Thanks to consoles, our game is dumbed down to appeal to the millions of drones.

Stop complaining, this game was made for you, you don't like it time to return it.

Consoles seem to be the primary platform games are designed for.We have that going for us.

Yes the PC crowd does have access to console commands that can hot fix a glitch in game(also useful for turning on godmode)
Yes they have access to mods(judging by the sheer number of nvde mods and better bewbie physics PC players are also perverts)

Honestly tho the console commands are reason enough to get the PC version

But but, i was only being a slight bit sarcastic :(

Anyway seriously, i dont think consoles were built for these type of games in the first place and alot of developers are still mainly focussed on pc, partially because of that.

The console is primarily a testing tool, invaluable for mod development. Moreover, the TES console is fairly powerful. You can easily irreparably damage your saves with it.

I know. I was thinking about the PC version but my PC wouldn't run it. Then my question is, if Bethesda knows that the PC sales will be higher than the console sales because of such a small feature, why don't they put at least a little more effort into adding it into the game?

EDIT: @post above: Then the console version of the console could be stripped down a bit. Just give us the most important functions.

Player.disable, instant KA-BOOM!

...Or it was in Oblivion until they patched it, but the console in TES games is a developer tool. It allows you to do things you're not supposed to with the possiblity of breaking something, and on consoles fixing those things may not be simple.

The reason console users (like myself) won't get the in-game console is because if you don't know what you are doing you can majorly screw things up. Spawning 50 000 cabbages and making your console crash is not good. Making edits you are not supposed to do unless you know what you are doing is not good either.
For a console on the consoles (man that sounds dumb) there would have to be alot of limits and restrictions in place that game developers just don't want to do, It's as simple as that.

Can't really see the in-game console as necessary. If they strip down the console version for that then I'm going to be pissed.

Also I highly doubt that PC sales are higher simply due to the console being accessible. People will buy the game for the PC if it is preferred over the consoles and if their computer can run. Also due to the amazing modding community.

The console is far too powerful, and Microsoft/sony are not willing to deal with the thousands of complaints they would get if players had access to such a thing from games breaking.
