Well, Bethesda had to explain why the Argonians in Arena basically looked like guys in lizard suits.

Speaking of lore not making sense... Vivic. He's the man when it comes to not making sense. Or was that his spear?

That's because those Khajiit are likely Ohmes(-raht). The Khajiit in later games are Suthay(-raht). I hope http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Khajiit#Sub-species_Notes helps.

Honestly, Skyrim got it right when it comes to their appearance. in the other games they looked kinda creepy. Imagine this as your wife!
