I`ve been puzzling over this a while now and wondering if I`ve been missing something, so I didn`t want to whine too sonn about it. But now I think it`s time...
Right, I`m a warrior- I don`t Enchant. I never enchanted in Morrowind or Oblivion. I find enchanted weapons, use them until they run out of power, then go to an enchanter to pop the batteries back in.
I don`t care how they do it, as long as I pay `em and they do it.
But in hours of adventuring I`ve not found one person who can enchant my weapons back up. I end up either throwing them away or selling the weapon and waiting until I can grab the next ancient enchanted Ax hidden in some tomb.
Do you have to enchant everything yourself now- And how? I can`t enchant anything.
Why did they remove this? Why can`t I just pay them to do it? It was very useful for non-enchanters who wanted to use enchanted weapons.
Is this that `dumbing down` thing again?
You have to find an Arcane Enchanter, take an enchanted item and disenchant it to learn the way it is made. You will need a supply of soul gems in order to fill the weapon back up with power. What I did was get the Soul trap spell, cats it on a person you are fighting, kill them, and then if all is successful voila, you will have a soul gem filled with a just captured soul.
My wood elf character is a serious enchanter. I have made Daedric weapons with enchantments, Forsworn, Empire, whatever. And I might mention, they sell for quite a price with local fences and stuff. I made and still make quite a bit of money selling enchanted weapons, armor, clothing, jewelery, etc. I enchanted some shoes I found and called them the "Sneaky Loafers" and they give like a 30 something percent enhancement to sneak abilities; sold them to a fence for a nice sum. Give enchanting a try, it is so worth it...
