At 67 am I the oldest?

Older than me....I'm really surprised by how many members are actually older players. Anyway, it must have been neat to experience "electricity" and then "computers"

But I should talk....I used to wind up my record player to listen to Beatles '45's.....

Are there any Skyrim players that are aged thirty and older on here???(male and female).

Yep. I'm 40, my wife is 37, and I've got some close friends who are over 50 and love the series. We've all been playing role playing games from before you had to specify "table top" if you meant the kind that doesn't use a computer.

32, tall, physically fit and reasonably attractive (just being honest, I’m actually quite humble and despise arrogance and vanity). Used to work doing coding and software support for a Biotech company before I was helpfully laid off.

At the moment I live alone playing Skyrim in a cabin in the woods of southern Oregon, because an ignorant religious cult amputated my sixuality as an infant and I can’t bring myself to seek love again, when all it does is drain my power and confidence and burden my partners with negative energy.

But Skyrim is awesome, modding is a rewarding hobby, and there’s more to life than six. There’s also more to be concerned about. Like our defenselessness against said biotechnology. If people only knew…

Sometimes humans remind me of the Stormcloaks. Convinced if they just ignore the problems that are too scary for them to cope with, they’ll somehow leave them alone and go away so they can get back to potato farming.

I fear for our future. But I’m trying to enjoy what’s left of the ride.

See, we could guess you were over 30, just from the fact that you used the phrase correctly

Hah! That was my thought too.

Will it be nothing but Top Chef and sports for today's youth?

Turning 50 next month.

Back in 1989 I bought a latest release power house PC for work
486sx 25mhz
2mb ram
512k video card
20mb HDD
14" vga monitor

It came with a copy of D&D Pool of Radiance and that was me hooked right in to RPGs

45 here. Started out back in the day with the various paper & pencil RPG's, Starfleet Battles, Avalon Hill wargames, etc. Got into PC gaming in earnest when Quakeworld came out. I was pretty actively into it for several years after that (Q3 Arena, etc.) but found myself playing less and less over the last 10 years.

This year has been interesting though, kind of a re-emergence into gaming. Second childhood maybe? I'm fully hooked on Skyrim, I've been playing some other recent games (Battlefield 3, Star Wars TOR) and I've even joined a bi-weekly Pathfinder (D&D) game with a group at work. A year ago I never would have imagined spending so much time on the PC gaming again, let alone actually being part of a paper & pencil game again. Truth is, I'm loving every minute of it!

I guess this just all goes to show that age/maturity is in the eye of the beholder. Glad to see I'm not alone!

Turning 39 in March ...

Yikes, looks like I'm the oldest one here in terms of joining the forums ...

lol, not even close! I myself am more than 10 years older, and I am part of a group of 6 or so that are all @ 50 give or take that do a variety of games.....including this one.

See the second question.

Also, its likely the older demographic is overrepresented among the regular long-term forum-goers.

Must admit i`m surprised by the mature crowd here. I was always convinced they were in the few numbers.

Doesn`t make sense. I would`ve expected Skyrim to be more mature as a result, not less.

I certainly don`t see Skyrim as advlt enough to have such a following... I guess its guys who remeber the old Morrowind and search for a semblance of that in Skyrim?

Well, 68 here and one who just enjoys playing the games. Nostalgia isn't the only reason some of us oldies are playing.

Not for me, and I wouldn't expect everyone to see Skyrim the same way that I do. After all, we can each bring our own experiences with us when we play the game. The older we are, the more our results may vary. :foodndrink:

Wish I could say the same. I'm 40 and I feel like in my 70's. Especially when I have to bend down to pick something up.

Also, sometimes having six is like trying to shoot pool with a rope.

You need to hit the booze mate, that'll make things a whole lot better.

And why would that be? Skyrim may have it's shortcomings, but it's still one of the most immersive action-RPG's out there.

There is more to life than six. Booze. Cheers! (Other recreational drugs are available).
