Your best NOOB moments of skyrim

mine would be spending 15 minutes trying to figure out how to hold the Z button for using full shouts, while raging at the grey beards for not being specific.

"I bet no one will care if I kill this livestock."

My first time using a bow was a pretty sorry sight. I couldn't hit anyone until they were right in my face, at which point a sword would have sufficed.

This was after I bought my first horse. I was trying to do the white phial quest, and Clairvoyance was being a pain in the rear end. It looped me around back towards town. I was like "is there a path against the town walls leading off the bridge?" I ride my horse up and, no, there's no path. Ouch.

lol good topic. I have had too many to count. Like most its due to carelessness.

1. Elder dragon drops in front of me, I think "ow, s**t buddy you picked a bad day to die!" which was followed up by a double power attack. And so thinking I was god I didn't care when he took 3/4 of my health. I did care however, when he ragdolled my ass.

2. Tried to make an easy jump of a cliff top to cut time/distance.....It turns out what Odahviing said was right. I certainly have the Thu'um of a dragon but unfortunately I lack the wings.

3. Walked into a room full of bandits, downed one in a hit and turned to loot his corpse. Showing my back to his boyfriend, resulted in a nasty look finishing move that had chump written all over it!

I have many noob moments. The most common is probably chugging down 10 health potions in a battle after taking on ~4 enemies at once and realizing that I didn't use battle cry or any shouts to knock enemies back. I keep forgetting to use my Nord's racial ability, and he's usually out of stamina from all of the blocking during certain tough battles.

I've accidently shouted people to their deaths unsuspectingly several times...the Z key is in a precarious position next to the SHIFT key.
That's why I remapped it to Middle-Mouse...

I think my only noob moment was taking on a bear... on level 10. But hey, you won't know until you try, will you?

I didn't realize you could sprint until 180 hours into the game. SERIOUSLY!

Ditto on the sprinting, but my most notable newb moment was the first frost troll..... who apparently grew to his formidable size on a diet of scrawny, young , ill-equipped archers.

I've had several because I am a total noob (my first TES game), but the last one convinced me....I chased a vampire into the river, we both go underwater and I'm trying to kill him with firebolt :nope:

second noob moment was using fury on a chicken and running for my dear life by angry guards.

third noob moment was me thinking my cat could land on her feet, nope!

fourth, noob moment, was when i went with shadowmere to kill someone, and a giant appeared and smacked both me and scruffy into the air..wtf.

Saw Two mages fighting, decided it would be a good idea with my Sword and Shield warrior to try and take them, I was roasted/zapped to death...

Then I was in a shootout with a Bandit, and I was backing up firing my arrow to kill him, and I wound up falling off the building to my death, haha.

I think my only noob moment was taking on a bear... on level 10. But hey, you won't know until you try, will you?

Have you beat. At approximately level 7 or 8, I came across a dragon wall, walk up to it, fight and kill the dragon standing between me and my newest Thu'um, and casually stroll up to the wall to claim my new skill. Suddenly, the coffin next to the wall bursts open, and my semi-injured lvl7 mage is facing one of the names Dragonpriests!!! (I am thinking Morokei, or whichever one is outside and next to a dragon wall...). The part that keeps it from really qualifying for a newb moment is that through very liberal use of nearby cover, vast amounts of healing spells, and a LOT of arrows, I actually managed to kill him, and claim my first mask! His spells hit me for approximately 65-75% of my total health. To this day, I have no idea how he never managed to hit me twice in a row...

One good newb moment: I was wandering southwest from Solitude, with a quest in Markarth being my eventual target (or maybe I was just wanting to explore, since I hadn't been to that side of the map yet). I was walking along the river, and stubled into a mess of mudcrabs. I was near max capacity, and don't like leaving unlooted corpses, so I was actually trying not to kill anything, both to avoid having to sort through my inventory for stuff o drop, and to leave enemies to return and fight later... SO I decided, "meh, I'm not gonna kill these mudcrabs now..." I turn, and jog off, thinking, no problem, I can outrun them... Unfortunately, I pick a course through a couple of trees, and when I pop out the other side, I am right in the middle of a pitched fight between a spriggan and her summoned bear, and a fire mage. I happen to make the dumb mistake of firing off a spell, which happened to be an AOE frost spell, which happened to aggro all 3 of them. The mage's spells begin hammering me pretty badly, and I am forced to start healing to keep alive. I make the decision to flee yet again. Due to my positioning in the fight, my best course is to turn roundabout, and retreat back towards the mudcrabs who were still chasing me. I sort of run through them, take an angled course, happen to pick up first one, then two packs of wolves. In my continued flight, I decide that maybe if I gain elevation, I will find less hostility. I find a path up a nearby mountain, fly up it, and manage to run into a sabercat and a bear, followed shortly by a frost dragon which happened to be patrolling the area for an easy meal. The dragon found a lone adventurer, who was mauled, bitten, pinched, punched, burned, clawed, and stung, to be a relatively easy meal. He had no trouble finishing me off... I reloaded back to the stables of Solitude (I forgot to mention that before all this, I had purchased a new horse, and was on foot because had managed to lose him shortly before to another dragon...

...After the reload, I decided to go to Whiterun instead...

Okay, that made me laugh 'til I cried!!
I've been sent skyward by a giant (I wasjust stopping by to say hi...)
Fallen to my (and my horses) death off the side of a mountain.
Had to run away from three warriors intent on killing me (for some unknown reason) when I was level 2.
Killed my companion accidenlty - how was i to know she was not going to move when I was using fire?
Currently I'm wandering around aimlessly, just enjoying the scenery.. I'm sure something dire will happen soon.....

Without a doubt my best NOOB moment was when i discovered a tower ( cannot remember the name ). Upon discovering the the location it appeared to be empty. Looted a few items in a chest, made my way up the spiraling steps in sneak mode with my bow drawn. I get to the top and im presented with a bandit that has its back to me. So i chuckle to myself and contemplate my next move.

Just for giggles i decide to use unrelenting force and watch the rag doll bandit fly off into the sunset...... but i had forgotten to switch out from whirlwind sprint and without thinking i powered up my shout (quietly laughing to myself) and off the tower i went at mach 2 (not laughing anymore). I then watched my own ass rag-dolling in the sunset, bouncing off many a rock to my death.

Time for bed i think.

Dumbest thing I did was marry a woman who would cheat on me with a Bosmer in my own home, how could I lose out to a wood elf?

Mine was at the beginning of the game I went up to a giant thinking it was friendly, and got knocked 200 feet in the air

This and this again. From then on the game has been apologising to me for being a NOOB.

I messed up my character build pretty bad: I think I've put over 10 perks into Lockpicking and Pickpocket, two perks that aren't even needed.

Like all of you, I also ran straight up to a giant.

Another noob moment was when I kept jumping up and down because I thought it would raise my acrobatics skill like in Oblivion. But I eventually figured out that jumping doesn't raise any skills in Skyrim.

I did also cast chain lightning at an Eagle in solitude which proceeded to 'chain' to a guard and then another and then another. For some reason i couldn't yeild which was a massive annoyance to my simple little mind.

The first Noob moment though was naming my character 'prisoner' when i first played the game. Had to restart the game. for some reason it completely ruins the immersion something like that..

I sold the armor right off of my back in Riverwood and didn't know since I was in first person view. It took a bit of research to figure out why a NPC kept yelling, "NAKED NAKED NAKED!"
