Underestimating Mud crabs..

lol so true. My first crab encounter was near Helgen when my character was still a new player, the beast totally pwned me.

edit: what's with the filter replacing "n o o b" with "new player"?

I thought to use magic you had to buy the spells. About six hours in I figured out that I already had flames and could use the spell.

Last night I forgot that the grinding stone improved your weapon and not the workbench. Took me a good half hour to remember that. And the whole time of going through menus and whatnot somebody was using the grinding stone...

lol! i think i completely lucked out on that one. i was about to open a tome but thought, wait in elder games books give points. better not open it. then, i read a bit and realized i was good because of my unacceptance of books autopiloting skill points.

btw, companions (which i recently learned, lol) being able to grab books is fine, but, auto-skill giving in a rpg should never occur, imo. i don't want a companion right now.

I created a new character yesterday (Breton - Killer Thief LOL). Once I left Helgen, I made my normal stop at the first mine I see. I walk up and didn't remember whether a bandit is outside or not. Didn't see anyone, so I march towards the door and suddenly this bandit chick is staring in my face, saying "bad time to get lost"... I literally jumped in my seat LOLOLOL

That was my latest noob moment, after playing Skyrim over 300 hours hahahahaha

At first I didn't realise that you could zoom the 3rd person camera out, and complained to Bethesda that their 3rd person players are going to really miss that feature. Then I found out that you can still zoom it out; it's just different from how it's done in Oblivion and Morrowind.

It's a good thing Bethesda doesn't major in the 'checking their emails from customers' department, otherwise they'd read mine and see my noobness from when I first started playing :{D~

My horse was killed by bandits not even 10 minutes after I bought it from the stable near Whiterun. I was so mad.

When i first played the game i saved and spent over 4k buying up spell books for enchanting thinking it was the same as Oblivion. We all know how that turned out!

I had no clue until about 100 hours in that on the ps3 and Xbox you could hold left or right in you favorites menu on anything thing you'd like and it would equip it while pressing left or right in the game. Some people still don't know that. Just told a friend about it yesterday and he shocked you can do that. It works very well with health potions. Instead of doing the whole menu process you can just tap left or right and it will automatically use the potion.

Another took me 200 hours in. I just realized that you can smith past legendary(whatever one it is I forget) by using potions and enchanted gear.

Noob moments:

-- Getting too close to a dragon when "low" on HPs
-- Not realizing what favorites were for & how to activate
-- After blasting through the game walking up to a couple of giants thinking "no big deal" ... [my char's still in orbit]

My noob or crap what did I do moment came in the tutorial. The first room in Helgen keep, and I am an Altmer going to play a mind mage. So I use my fury spell, and stand back and let the battle proceed then I try using it again after the first guy goes down, well unbeknownst to me I hit Ralof with the spell. The other imperial bites and then Ralof starts attacking me. I am like wth is going on. There really wasn't anywhere to run and before I could think to use my healing spell, poof dead is dead in the tutorial.

I bought a dog and immediately told him to go home expecting he'd go to my house. Instead he went back to his old master and was up for sale again! Worst $500 ever spent.

OMG LMAO... these 2 posts just made me LOL!

I bought a dog and immediately told him to go home expecting he'd go to my house. Instead he went back to his old master and was up for sale again! Worst $500 ever spent.

Yea, I found a stray dog outside Riften and I thought oh poor puppy, let's take him home. So, I said "go home boy" and he went back to his little area and now I can't talk to him anymore! LOL

Falling off the cliff on my way to High Hrothgar when walking backwards shooting at the frost troll. Considering my last save was an autosave coming out of the inn in Ivarstad I left the game after cursing a storm.

I'm a stealthy archer. My MO is to sneak around using Aura Whisper to highlight enemies, then snipe them from afar.

I was in a dungeon--Ustengrav, I think--and came across a hidden treasure chest that I had to use Whirlwind Sprint to reach. I grabbed the goodies, then crept up to the edge of what had to be a three story chasm. I hit my shout, hoping to use Aura Whisper and find all of the enemies, and instead Whirlwind Sprinted off the edge, plummeting to my death.

You'd think I'd learn my lesson, but I'm awful about not paying attention to which Shout is cued up. I've Fus Ro Dah'd quite a few companions, horses, and city guards, set a couple on fire, and fallen to my death when I tried to jump off a cliff and Become Ethereal and used Unrelenting Force instead.

My favorite noob moment was early on realizing how cute it looked in third person for my muscle bound beserker to be chasing butterflys around the wild flowers. Makes one feel exceptionally manly..

My favorite was getting attacked by a dragon while leaving the College of Winterhold. I'm just walking through town and this thing comes out of nowhere. Guards are shouting, flames are flying and arrows are whizzing all around my head... With minimal fuss I slay the dragon right on the edge of town and loot his body. Continue down the path out of town, humming to myself and enjoying that triumphant feeling when suddenly a sabre cat leaps out of the bushes and murders me in one hit. :stare: (and I hadn't saved for like 20-30 minutes).
