Your best NOOB moments of skyrim

Took me well over 50 hours playtime to realize you could manipulate the items in your inventory; specifically being able to rotate the dragon claws.

Kept trying to fight a Draugr Deathlord with melee and magic before remembering that my character is an archer who can kill nearly anything with 6 or 7 arrows. Derp.

It took me forever to figure out how to activate shouts. In my defense, the game text is nearly unreadable on a standard-definition TV.

N o o b moment by an NPC: a bandit mage attacked my Dunmer with flames. Yeah, that'll work.

My dumbest moment came when I passed up on The Ritual stone as a Necromancer style character because I didn't realize that it reanimated more than one corpse.

Forgetting what shout I've got equipped it's a NOOB move that still haunts me. I'll assume it's Aura when it's really Unrelenting Force... Not exactly .... Stealthy.

Mine was at the beginning of the game I went up to a giant thinking it was friendly, and got knocked 200 feet in the air
That was also my newbie moment, except I went for lateral distance instead of vertical.

My worse is a loading death too, I was I was walking up these load of death and I thought I better save it as I knew there was a dragon at the top, second I got off the save screen insta-death then it just reloaded the save again and again, literally half hour before I had just deleted my backup save as they were becoming too annoying to manage. It wasn't even the dragon that killed me, he was still fast asleep at the top of the mountain, it was one of those soul gem trap things - one shotted me with a beam of ice or something.

Thankfully the game was still making those autosave things so I had to go back to one of those.

Running around in circles for 20 minutes shooting fire with my staff and hand at a Draugr Death OVERLORD.

In the end I got a nice ebony war axe, while plate armor wasn't even in the game yet

My ultimate noob moment was in a dungeon (don't remember which) and there was a hallway lined with turnable stone pillars (with the animals on them). It was really dark and I couldn't see at all, and I just could NOT figure out the order. I had to have spent a good 20-30 minutes down there before I slapped myself in the face and looked it up ( I feel so ashamed ). Anyway, it turns out the symbol that the pillar was supposed to be set on was shown on the wall behind the pillar. But it was too dark for me to see until I used my Night Eye. I felt like an idiot.

Playing a warrior on master, I didn't know how to shield bash until I was nearly level 10. I thought it was a skill you acquired only through perks. How I survived without it I don't know.

Oh and I had one today after playing for 200 hours, I fast travelled to one giant camps and arrived in the dark which I HATE, I was about to forward time then I hear all the music kicking off so it wouldn't let me, blood dragon attacks and I'm like whoa I only came over here to test my new sword out and all hell was breaking loose.

I'm like chill out guys and the dragon and mammoth are all scrapping with the Dragon and a Bear that comes wandering past, I stroll up and give the dragon a few hits with my swords it turns round and nearly wipes me out, I have tons of health on that character so WTF!, I realised I'm still wearing my smithy gear so zero armour rating. I run like hell to the chest and it has some light armour in which totally saved me skin.

Turn back round to the dragon to absorb his soul and he starts blasting me again, I'm too surprised to do it again so I take a full blast before realising an Ancient Dragon has just turned up and started attacking (first one on this character), I got nearly half his health off with my souped up Deadric blade but with an armour rating of 107 on master it just wasn't happening and my warrior fell valiantly fighting to the end to free the province from the dragon onslaught.

- Collecting heaps of paper rolls, charcoal, linen wraps thinking there would be some awesome use for them. Spent many hours carrying around that stuff until I bought a house.
- Being killed by mud crabs.
- Walking around naked wondering why people are saying I must be cold.
- Wearing the wrong armour (kinda like above point).
- Walking over the same dungeon traps again.
- Running away from someone and running off a cliff.

(edit: forgot there are uses for some of the above, did collect a lot of linen though).

Ran around a Dwarven Centurion for 10 minutes.... at level 37.

I had to do that with a Dwarven Sphere Master last night, all my gear had been confiscated so I had nothing but a damn pickaxe, so how the hell am I gonna kill him?, my character was built for melee and had no points in magic. I had to blast him with flame for all of three seconds till they ran out, use my shout, then hit him with a pickaxe a couple of times, run away, keep running, heal while running, run some more, run for five minutes till my magic replenished and repeat. I stopped once after 30 minutes and the thing one shotted me (did I mention I had no gear so instead of ebony armor I had rags on), I wasn't best pleased with that.

On the way to High Hrothgar, ascending,i notice a frost troll near the edge with his back turned.Grinning wickedly,i sprint towards the troll and use the charging power attack that makes you jump a bit.The troll decides to turn right at the last second.

I am still flying towards Whiterun

I didn't realize you could sprint until 180 hours into the game. SERIOUSLY! I kept thinking to myself, "man, horses are slow, I hope a mod comes out to make them faster."

This. (Though I still don't sprint often.)

at the start of the game I sold a frost sword (the best sword I had at the time) to a vendor and couldn't afford to buy it back.

I conjured a Dremora with sanguines rose.I started to cast fireballs at him,Then he of course got mad,(we were in my house) he walked straight to my staff of magnus! and picked it up D: i was lucky he only drained my magicka!
So i killed him then he vanished into oblivion,But the staff were gone too.
Loaded autosave..

Playing Skyrim since it first came out and not realising til the last week in december i could pick up and place objects just by keeping the action key pressed down.

Having over twenty health potions in my inventory and not using them once while taking on a tough oppenent as i told myself one more hit will do it! Yea one more hit for them to finish me off.

Going up against a Frost Dragon without realising i didnt put my armor back on after leaving a tavern and getting fried by its frosty breath.

Thinking a Sabre Cat wouldnt acttack me the first time i saw one as i casually walked by.

Thinking i could easily kill a Sabre Cat the second time i saw one.

Same here. I got the whirlwind shout and I was like "is that the sprinting friend told me about? I have to shout to sprint? Really?", and then I accidentally hit alt once and I felt like full of win. Happened way past lv 30 tho.

The one that stands out most clearly in my mind: I was probably about level 10, and I'd found a small den of bandits camping out beneath Whiterun's walls. I figured that I'd try to sneak in and kill them. A lot of waiting earned me the perfect strike to put down the first bandit, and I dispatched her companion easily enough. However, my waiting had bought time for reinforcements to come up. As I was searching the camp for my well-earned loot, a trio of bandits ambushed me. Being more inclined to sneaking than fighting face to face, I couldn't hold my own against the three. I was quickly forced into a running fight, getting a hit or two in and then sprinting away to blast a spell at them. I was so busy keeping my distance from the bandits, I hadn't realized that my retreat had unwittingly put me in the path of a giant and his mammoth. I never even saw the club coming. Never having faced a giant before, you might imagine my wonder as my character was sent careening into the air.
