Dragon Age II was a huge disappointment but I think Dungeon Siege III takes the cake. Obsidian killed that IP and should've just left it for dead. Easily the most disappointing game I've ever played.

Red Dead Redemption. Horse riding controls were awful and I found the game very boring. Also "YOU BROKE THE LAW" if I so much as fart in the face of a chicken.

 what...horses in RDR were unlike anything on any game before (in a good sense), plus they look amazing, definitely the best riding controls I've ever seen.

Fallout 3. I still can't pin down why I hated it so much but I was disappointed for sure.

Fable 3. The ending was weak and depressing.

Final Fantasy XIII - As a game in general I didn't mind it, but as a Final Fantasy it was a massive disappointment. While nowhere near my favorite, Final Fantasy XII touched upon a number of things that I figured would become standard for "next gen" JRPGs, and then XIII pretty much dropped all of it. Large areas, a flexible combat system, etc. Instead XIII gave us long hallways, useless summons, next to no variety in combat and a story that I hard a hard time following until I read the in-game synopsis. The characters were also much less memorable than previous games, the exceptions being Sazh and Hope (yes, Hope).

XII wasn't much different in that regard though. I didn't care for anyone but Balthier, Ashe and sometimes Fran. Also hated its story, which despite originally being penned by Yasumi Matsuno (known for his excellent stories), was changed by Daisuke Watanabe. I'd love to see what the original script was.

Long story short, Tetsuya Nomura needs to stick to Kingdom Hearts.

Age of Empires III

I had come to expect the rich historical accuracy and campaigns of Age of Empires and Age of Empires II, but instead I was met with a cheap fantasy story about non-existant orders and shadowy evil cults and Russian invasions and the fountain of youth. Resource drop points were gone, the flashy graphics did nothing for me, and they implemented this idiotic home city card game level up system that just tore apart any real sense of immersion in the game it self.

It is the only video game I have actually returned to the store after purchasing.

VIII was pretty lame as well, with all the romance bullcrap.

Hey man, nothing wrong with a little romance now and then. Plus, they were http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlfH3r780So in a special sort of way.

I was going to put this instead of saga frontier 2, but I remembered that I removed the name from my vocabulary and banned myself mentally from thinking about it.

Well, I can stomach one of those sugary scenes, but not the entire game, especially if the protagonist is so insufferably unlikeable that even Jehova's witnesses wouldn't even knock on his door.

It does in my mind.

Yes, but in your mind, dinosaurs fight with transformers.

Morrowind.

With how everyone here made it out to be the Game of God Himself, I just didn't see the huge deal. Its a good game and all, but the hype people here make about it...

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I was expecting it to be the game to end all games, because of how everybody was hyping it, and when I finally played it, I was really disappointed to find it wasn't.

Dragon Age 2
Mass Effect 2 - sort of. As a sequel to ME1 it let me down, but it was a good enough game judged impartially.

And above all, Fable 2. I'm ashamed to admit that I totally fell for Peter Molyneux's lies that time. Never again, though.
