I `d want the leaves to be more saturated and evident in this one:

Really, and I mean REALLY, good! Deffo the best I've seen so far.

My only teeny tiny grip was in this one

http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s5/AaGeOn/TEST20-11-2-1.jpg

the bigger white bits on the floor, is it supposed to be lichen, flowers or are they bird droppings? Sorry I can't tell from the screenie.

Nice work :) I'm liking them all with the exception of the cabbage patch. The original earth while blurred looks like well tended fertile soil, modded looks hard, almost rocky.

Inject texture replacers in DEFAULT Skyrim .bsa (overwriting) and repack with less or nothing compression is better than in folders and give more space
Only if you're on a very large spinner.

Quite frankly, if you don't have a machine with an SSD, you probably don't have the GPU to run skyrim on ultra with higher res textures. If you do, you should have an SSD :)

So any comments on the new test screens are welcome ^^ :)
#1. The moss near the ground needs to be a little less ... viridian, imo. That is some bright green for something that close to the ground, presumably getting splattered with soil every time it rains.
#2. The rock on the left is a lot brighter in the after. Is that your screen calibration again? If no, then as much as I like it looking like a rock instead of a dark blob, i would say its too bright.
#3. That grass ground texture is :awes: :o
#4. Left rock is lighter again. Also I notice you've overall decreased the number of deep cracks in rocks and rock faces. I'm not sold on that bit. The normal and specular on the beth texture makes me wanna claw my eyes out, but its geomorphologically more interesting. Otherwise pretty damn sweet :D
#5. Damn that an impressive texture. However I think you left the beth ideal way behind here. They have a sort of freshly turned field soil look (in a sort of impressionst im-just-going-to-hint-at-it blocky-ass way) with a few rocks and some small sticks in it, whereas yours looks more like packed dry dirt. Possibly that's because it looks slightly shiny?
#6. Nothing to say here bar a 'very nice'. It makes the vanilla, untweaked grass look even more flat and poster-like, though. Yes, I'm nitpicking ^.^

#2+3: The lighter rock is still an unfinished texture with my "base texture". :D
#3: The deep cracks are still there, only some blend in a bit more (the rock cracks are in the model, not the texture :) )
#5: The dry dirt is still a base texture :) it's the first layer of detail.
@rest: agreed :)

Very helpful post :)

This is coming along nicely! :goodjob: I'm going to have to agree with Soor, that the rocks are too light, but you already replied to that comment, so no reply needed here

I always forget to change the OP with some details. haha I need to make it a habit.
That texture is only the first layer of the actual texture, as the days pass by the texture will change to it's actual texture (a bit like the Birch texture) :)

I don't have an SSD, I have Samsung Spinpoint F3 1000GB and GPU ATI HD5850 (with bios unlock an oc to 880/1180), q9300 2,5GHZ @ 3,16GHZ OC and I run Skyrim on ultra (except distant load object and shadows on high) and I have many texture mods on 2048x2048 and 4096x4096 (detailed bodies, faces etc) injected in DEFAULT Skyrim .bsa and split in 2 .bsas (skyrim - textures1.bsa, skyrim - textures2.bsa) without compression. My FPS is stable in 30+ and no problems. Also I have ENB graphical patch combined with FXAA post process injector with smooth sharpen and run amazing on my pc :D

looking awesome! any chance you could re-skin the fox at all? i don't like it at the moment, not high res enough. plus it makes wierd noises when running but that doesn't have anything to do with texturing.

I think he was planning on skinning everything, if I'm not mistaken :)

I can't tell much of a difference. Can anyone post a screen that shows the biggest difference?

I have to commend you on your dedication to getting the textures to look aesthetically as close to the originals as possible. That last round really looks very close to just being higher res versions of the same textures as vanilla. Top notch work.

Nice textures but one thing bothers me.

I think the stone mesh textures could be less noisy. Keep them relatively smooth and gray with high contrast black cracks like Bethesda did. And then some smaller cracks that you can only notice when you get close up.

PLEASE re-texture the rock/pillars/stone things. Like where the Greybeards are, if you go up to a lot of the stone pillars or stone on the buildings it looks so bad with that blotchy snow on it. Please correct something Bethesda so blindly put into the game

Yeah, some of the rocks are REALLY low res in the game.
Great work on the textures so far, I'm loving them!

I'll make them a tiny bit less noisy, but a mountain without "rock" layers ain't no mountain :D
That something won't be close to vanilla :)

Hi there, loving the look of things so far, it feels like understated quality rather than over-the-top obnoxiousness to me which is great.
However, I do have one constructive (hopefully) criticism on this screenshot here:

20/11 Update:
http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s5/AaGeOn/test20-11-3.jpg --> Highly experimental.

I can see that you tagegd it as highly experimental, and I cannot know how far finished this texture is, but I find it has lost all of the charm of the bethesda original. I loved seeing all the various shapes, sizes and colours of stones in that texture. I even remember saying 'ooh' when I first saw it, and yours to me just looks plain

Im keeping my eyes on this mod though, and thank-you for spending the time on it for us :D
