Installed the new preview driver and it made the game unplayable. Game hasn't crashed but freezes constantly for 3-5 seconds at a time.

EDIT: NVM, I'm an idiot and left boinc running. Texture popping is mostly gone, but screen tearing is still present.

Game still starts with unplayable lag/skipping.
Can only be played with atioglxx.DLL file in place in dir

*sigh* K, so I can leave my config file but the textures look worse now. If I leave the launch options in then Wellsprings lags up.

My game still freezes for 30-40 seconds then runs for 3 seconds and freezes again I can't move my character and my CPU gets jammed at 99%. If I disable the Catalyst AI manually my CPU load decreases to 50-60% I get good FPS around 56-60 FPS stable but the textures are messed up.

Going to give it a shot myself. Only issues I had pre-11.10 patch was (using config and 11.9 RAGE Performance drivers) was some NPC artifacts (Mayor, Coffer, Sheriff, Spider Bots, and anything in Mutant Bash TV's game rooms), some weapon artifact/ghost image effects (always indoors interestingly enough), and 'RAGE has stopped working' on loading into Sewers (doesn't go away), loading out of Mutant Bash TV (doesn't go away), and some other areas (that go away with repeated attempts). I'll edit this with my findings after I install the 11.10.

Doesn't fix anything for me. The game still crashes every time I attempt to enter the wasted garage area. Ho hum, time to get a refund I think.

Yeah, no change for me either. I tried with my launch settings in and it looked the same as pre-11.10, and without my launch settings I still get texture pop-ins. All of this with screen tearing, of course.

Didnt help for me either. Menu and demo work just fine but when game starts the game freezes for over 5 seconds and then I get control again for a second or two and then it happens again.
Ofcourse it's obvious that I'm very disappointed.

Unfortunately it didn't work for me, though I was hoping a little :(

Bug : stuttering when Catalyst AI enabled, misplaced textures when AI turned off...

Specs :
Intel Dual Core E6300 (2.8Ghz)
HD4850
Windows 7 - 32 bits

I'm about to cry right now...

100% CPU when Catalyst AI is on, and artifacts and other texture bugs when it's off.

This driver has made such a huge difference for me. Just before I downloaded it my game started crashing everytime I tried to enter the Ghost Hideout and now it doesnt crash.

As well it has got rid of all of my screen tearing, before I had loads but now there is none and the frame rate is much more stable it now feels buttery smooth.

Thanks a lot AMD :foodndrink:

ALSO I've got this anomaly happening, if I don't have the game selected, it moves as it was FIXED, if I select it, it freezes, and I Don't understand WHY.

Seems like the new drivers did some good for those who were having screen tearing or NPC flickering, but for those crappy messed up textures there's still no solution :(

Again tried everything know to community...still no change

video included:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_pXaI-IaRQ

i have to say...its a bit better...STILL UNPLAYABLE TO BE CLEAR....but a bit better
at this rate should be running fluent in about 10 days :)

ooh...and since now i have like 1h of gameplay ( done like 2-3 min of the game though ) i cant seem to notice the exact UBER graphics that causes the stuttering and lag...
textures are low res....like hl 1 in some cases

might be an issue also...though not sure !

Did not help me at all. Game looks like this:

Makes it run at a smooth framerate but it creates the "checkerboard" pattern of ugly textures.

1)Texture artifacts still persist, although to a much lesser extent.
2)Slow texture pop-in.
3)Still can't turn on Catalyst AI, game is freezing every 1-2 seconds as before. Keep in mind that with AI on, there are no graphical bugs or issues.
4)Config file with 8k textures crashes my game on save loading.

It seems that only ones who benefit at all from this drivers are the people have at least 3 cores for i have a weaker gpu but stronger CPU - x3 720 2,8 ghz 512kb L2 memory and 6 MB L3. But thats pretty much expected hence that in recommended are quad CPU's so 3 cores also benefit from it. :hubbahubba:

The graphics driver did not solve my problems of unplayable stuttering and freezing when Catalyst A.I. is enabled and incorrect textures (black splotches) when it is disabled.
This is on a Radeon HD 5770 with 1gb VRAM.
