Did not help me at all. Game looks like this:

http://i.imgur.com/Iy5uz.jpg

Makes it run at a smooth framerate but it creates the "checkerboard" pattern of ugly textures.

Specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
4 gigs DDR2 ram
Radeon HD 4850 512mb
Windows 7 x64

Try turning your Catalyst A.I. back on. I believe those blocky textures resutl when you disable Catalyst A.I. (at least that happened for me with the 11.9 driver)

If you turn it back on it will make your computer lag, that's what it happens to me, but as I stated above, maybe that could mean something.
I just don't want computer soup, so I disabled it...but god, I HOPE I won't have nightmares with bad textures because when I wake up, I'll WALK to the ID/AMD/someones HQ and do something I can't even think of ...

Reminder: if you continue experiencing issues or want to report improvements,

Make sure to post here:

1.your specs
2. your display resolution
3. whether you are using any additional tweaks in Steam launch options or rageconfig.cfg file

So if I understand correctly, you tried running the game with 11.10 driver and Catalyst enabled and the artifacts disappeared but the frame rate was too low?

OH, and something I also spotted, is that the game sometimes lowers it's priority in task manager to low, so I have to raise it to normal, that happens only when Catalyst AI is turned on...maybe another sign ? Or just random?

EDIT : And yes, Catalyst AI activated makes no texture bugs, but the frame is low. (With the 11.10 driver too)

I have a similar problem. However, it isn't exactly that the framerate is too low; it's that the whole game stalls as textures are fetched. So anytime you look somewhere new and textures start to get loaded, the whole game freezes for around 10 seconds. This problem is alleviated when Catalyst A.I. is disabled, but then texturing artifacts appear. Since Catalyst A.I. is meant to improve texture filtering, it is likely trying to prefilter the textures as they are loaded into VRAM, causing the freezing.

AMD Athlon™ II X2 250 Processor, 4GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB
Windows 7 32-bit

Desktop Resolution and game resolution: 1680x1050

No Rageconfig.cfg, console enabled, no graphics cfg tweaks

Catalyst Control Center at default settings after clean install of 11.10 (removed all files by deleting the device driver, removed Profiles.xml)

But I don't even look around when the freezing happens, I am just in the menu (not the main game menu, the in game menu) and if I look behind it, nothing loads, just freezes...
AND this thing happened again, I pressed alt tab, and I was in the car with the first guy, and the game hasn't paused itself, so it was running smoothly, and textures were loaded no FREAKING problem...but I pressed the game window again and it just froze...so I don't think it's something else around here.

Have you tried playing around with rageconfig.cfg settings?

In my case, I get excellent frame rates, however with Catalyst A.I. enabled (and 11.9 driver), I was experiencing glitches with my weapon (floating bullets, etc.) and flickering NPCs in Wellsprings. I tried turning Catalyst A.I. off and this resulted in the blocky textures. The frame rate did not really change regardless of my Catalyst A.I. setting.

Hopefully the flickering NPC / weapon glitch is fixed by the 11.10 driver, but I have not had a chance to test this.

Sorry to jump in again, but for example if I apply a rageconfig, the texture artifacts are much more severe than leaving it default

Do you have two monitors, with the task manager open on the second all the time or are you Alt-Tabbing out to check?

Two monitors, but you can run it in window mode and keep the manager up in a corner

Are those of you experiencing slow frame rates with Catalyst A.I. enabled using dual core or quad core CPUs?

Is there a rageconfig.cfg setting that improves performance for CPUs with less cores?

My understanding is that the GPU transcoding for AMD cards is not activated, so all the transcoding is performed by the CPU unless you have an NVIDIA card.

I have no idea, I didn't even knew the cfg's were having those options, if they would have (because I haven't seen nothing related to the CPU in the cfg's), it could work fine for everyone with catalyst activated.
I understand what you are saying there, hmmm...interesting, but still I don't know about the CPU improvement in the cfg's.

Yes vt_maxPPF assists with the different core counts; however, I do not know all the appropriate values except for 8 is for Duo Core and 16 for Tri/Quad

Example:

seta vt_maxPPF "16" is the setting I use with an AMD Quad core (955 BE)

Dual here Yes ,

Anywayz Gonna post my full specs and problems so here goes :

ATI Raedon 4730 512MB
AMD Athlon II X2 250 Processor @ 3.3Ghz (OC'd , Default is 3.0Ghz , and yes i tried it without OC and everything was still same)
4.0GB RAM
WIN 7 64-Bit

Resolution : 1920x1080

Not Using any additional tweaks or config files as i dont understand them so well , all my atttempts at tweaking it resulted in a worse performance

Now to the fun Part , here the stuff that i am currently having problems with and hoping someone can help me fix it :

1) If Catlayst AI is turned ON the game freezes for 5 sec every 1 sec , If its turned off the game runs smooth but there is the checkboard effect like thingy.
2) Just like most people texutres pop-in when i turn 180 or 360 degrees.

And that pretty much sums it , I tried with 11.9 and the OCT 4 and OCT 7 driver updates and all were same for me , Only driver that had any difference .. was actually the very first 11.10 Preview (Sep 26th) Which removed the checkboard effect and made the textures pop-ins less but the game was running at 15-25 FPS.

Also with whatsoever driver i am using , Catalyst AI must be turned off , which results in the checkboard like effect

PS: I know my PC is not exactly high end or even barely mid end , But i pass the requirements and i was expected at least to run it on low or meduim without problems ,I wanna try the config files stuff but i dont understand them and it always make the game runs worse , So if any MOD or a good config file creator is reading this , Depending on my specs .. Can someone just give me what i am supposed to paste in the notepad?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Well sorry to say they didn't do SH*T except for wash my main display out. No improvements to rage. All these are are the rage perf drivers and the bf3 driver rolled into one...

What a friggin joke...

Still the same old same old. You can play perfectly at .5FPS with catalystAI on - or at 60fps with it turned off with huge texture artifacting and popping issues...

WTF?

Yeah, all this has done is ruined my textures and muddled my fps. My old settings were perfect. I think I will have to roll the drivers back. :(
