Edward

Edward spotted the school and dived the Vertibird towards it before pulling up near the ground, landing it comfortably. He switched on the cameras situated on various parts of Big Bird and checked if there was any enemies around. None. Good.

He switched on the loudspeaker again and started speaking through it, "We are here men. Grab your gear, tune it up and get ready to disembark. As soon as we get off your to head to the school and wait outside the door for further orders. Lets show these Enclave bastards what we are made of!"

After a little while he opened the cargo door and listened as all of the men jumped out, before he closed it again. He stuck on his helmet and checked the radio was working, before handing a similar helmet with a radio to Harrow. "Radio each other if you need anything, Young you can use Big Birds radio. Remember the plan."

He grabbed a laser pistol and his Laser Shotgun before placing another Laser Rifle in the back compartment of his armor. He then opened the cockpit door and jumped out, shutting it after Harrows got out.

They ran towards the door and gave the signal to move in silently.

Young

Mini Nukes? Well, so much for saluaging.

Young didn't want to admit that his hacking skills were lacking. But with robots, turrets, and cameras already hacked; their wasn't much else he could probe. He turned his head towards the computer set up for the Enclave base. He didn't want to access it too early, the Enclave would no doubt pick up on the breach in their program fairly quickly. But at the same time he was anxious to have the fullest advantage of the surveillance. He needed to point out defense positions, incoming troops, and investigate what ever experiments they were having. Then to turn the automated defenses at the right time. The plan, though still statistically crazy, was sound.

"No objections sir. I'll keep the squad covered." Young turned and took his seat the the designated computer system.

When the squad was set down. Young immediately got to work, placing on a headset and began to monitor Enclave Controls...

"All clear so far, sir. No alert movement from Enclave defenses." He radioed, overlooking a monitor. "They have four Tesla Units behind the door ahead of you. Two turrets are above them for support.... I'll change that."

As I walked into the school I gasped, on the walls were corpses of Raiders, Wastelanders and creatures alike. This didn't even look like it'd been a battle here, more like a slaughter. I shuddred and stayed in the back part of the group, moving at shadows, I was jumpy, but I couldn't help it. It was what I'd been trained for, I wasn't tired, I was energised, ready for the coming battle. Before I'd gotten off the Vertibird the Scribe, Young I think his name was, had given me a gattling gun, talk about overkill.

As we crept through the halls of the old school I saw more and more evidence of the Enclave, it was terrible. Corpses, ash piles and even piles of goo, the remains of a plasma shot obviously. I shuddred at the thought of those poor men and women who must've gotten stuck here. I grunted and continued moving on. We crept through the halls towards the lower levels of the school. I followed the precession of soldiers, waiting to see what terrors were lurking in the shadows.

Name: Vincent Lacroix
Rank: Initiate
Age: 21
Race: Mixed (Half White, Half Black)
Gender: Male
Brief history: As a child Vincent had the benefit of having parents to keep him in line the first 13 years of his life, but a sweeper team of bloodthirsty Enclave thugs seemed to find it proper to change that when they ordered an artillery strike on their property (finding the clearing a fitting place to set up a new HQ, no doubt). It was by shear chance the boy had been fetching supplies from a nearby settlement at the time. Before being orphaned, Vincent learned a great deal on the subject of fighting from his father with a various assortment of weapons, including his own fists, all thanks to his late Brotherhood Outcast father Jericho Lacroix, no doubt. Finding it prudent to restore his families honor, and to avenge his fathers death Vincent would travel to the legendary Citadel with nothing but the clothes on his back. Apparently they found him worthy...
Skills: Small Arms, Unarmed, Melee Weapons
Equipment: His fathers restored power armor, re-painted light blue to disguise any trace of Outcast garment, 3 Stimpacks, 2 Cram, 1 Instamash
Weapons: M16A2 Assault Rifle, Colt M1911 .45 pistol, 3 grenades

Edward

I took Young's warning and lunged through the doorway, shooting down two of the Tesla's while they had their helmets off with my Laser Pistol, then letting the turrets and others finish the rest.

"Thanks Young, hey what is your first name again?" he asked while aiming his Laser Pistol at the next doorway.

They headed through and down some stairs. There was no resistance anywhere else in the school, because the real base was underground, and the lack of Enclave presence confused the rest of the squad. He found a hatch in the floor and before lifting it up he asked Young, "Is there anything down there I should be warned of?"

(OOC: ThatOneNwah, how about we introduce Vincent as him being a prisoner in the base?)

OOC: ((Sounds good to me.))

Vincent had been beaten everyday non-stop since he'd been captured, and fed what he assumed to be rotten dog meat along with a tin of muddy water. Everyday he'd have to tell himself "They'll come for me... I'm just a lowly initiate but the Brotherhood leaves no one behind... God I hope they come for me soon... These sick bastards mean to break me and I don't know if I'm strong enough to keep going... I swear I'll kill every single one of them-... Gunfire?"

Justin arrived at the Citadel only ten minutes late. He learned that the person he was supposed to report too had just taken off and wouldn't be back till later in the day. At hearing that, he decided to practice shooting -you could never get too good. He climbed onto one of the catwalks lining the walls and took aim at the mutants that decided to try and assault the Citadel.

Young

"It's Nicholas, sir."

The monitor flickered and static lightly filled the screen. The underground level of the base was interfering with the frequency. Still, it didn't appear any apparent danger was waiting at the bottom of the hatch. He couldn't say for sure though, the Enclave camera was at an odd angle not giving a full view of the room.

"I could tell you you're entiring through a maintenance hatch. I don't have a good visiual on their defenses for it though. Proceed with caution, I'm losing the signal deeper into the base."

I was waiting to hear what Scribe Young was going to say about the tunnel when I heard a noise behind us. I grunted and turned around quickly, turning the safety off on the Gattling gun. I swore, loudly, behind us was 2 Enclave Tesla Soldiers, both aiming at Sentinel Shield/Edward. I pulled the trigger and bullets sprayed from the gun into the two men, they swore violently but otherwise didn't get a chance to do anything. They fell after 2 seconds from the hail of gunfire. I sighed, my reflexes should've been sharper, they shouldn't have gotten a chance to even aim at Edward.

I turned around and apologised, "Sorry, I should've killed them quicker and quieter, that didn't go well, I apologise," I stammered out, I was the oldest one here and this was how I set an example?

(OOC: Uh oh. We left someone behind? rofl sorry. I don't want to have to bring everyone back to the Citadel later, so here is a random scribes POV, and he'll take you to the fight.)

Scribe Feehan

Damn. Apparently one of the possible recruits for this new squad had been left behind, and I had to get him to Springvale. I asked around to see if anyone had seen him and quickly learned the Knight was up on the walls shooting 'muties'. I hated that word, why couldn't they call them Super Mutants, that was their proper name...

"Are you Justin?" I asked a man who was shooting up there. He nodded to me and I continued.

"We need to get you to Springvale, your required there. Come on, we have a Vertibird leaving for Megaton soon. We'll put you on that and you can walk to Springvale."

I dragged him to the landing pad and directed him to a Vertibird that was loaded up with Aqua Pura for Megaton.

"Once you get there, head towards the school and look for Sentinel Shield and his squad. Hurry too."

Everyday several series of tests were carried out on Vincent as well as the other sorry ass initiatives dumb enough to let the Enclave take them alive. Shots of god-knows-what that would cause intense pain along with muscle spams throughout his body.

One bonus, if such a thing could be considered a bonus, was that Vincent's muscle mass seemed to have doubled during his time here. It was odd since Vincent refused to eat the slop they fed him most days, and by all logical means he should be as gaunt as a ghoul by now. After hearing what sounded like an assortment of laser pistols and other firepower, an unfamiliar feeling sprang up inside the young man. Hope.

He'd quickly run to the bars of his cell and scream at the top of his lungs, "I'M DOWN HERE! THEY'RE KEEPIN' US DOWN HERE!" He'd repeated this several times before being slammed in the face by the butt of a plasma rifle. Needless to say, he was knocked out cold.

I heard a dim voice, in the distance. I started, I looked at Edward, "Sir, we have to get moving I think, I don't think that was an Enclave kind of voice, sounded more like..." I stopped, I knew that voice, I recognised it from my days in the Citadel, "I've heard that voice before! Sir, please, we have to get moving!"

Edward

"Don't sweat it, none of us could have reacted fast enough to get them before they even aimed at me, you did well to even get them before they let off a shot. Besides, this armor is made out of a reinforced metal stronger than normal PA, it could take a lot of whatever they could throw at me. And damn, you think that might be one of us? Ok, lets move in.

"We are heading down here now guys, there is probably no Enclave down there, but we should check anyway," he lied, "Follow me in."

He dropped through the hatch and had the surprise of his life. They landed in the barracks.

DAMN!

He had crushed a table that some soldiers where playing cars at when he landed, and the soldiers where just staring at him before they all reached for their weapons at once.

"Kill the lights Nick!" he yelled into the Radio, "and send some of the Sentry Bots up here to help clean up."

I swore violently, Edward was down below without anyone else, I didn't think the Scribe could react THAT fast. I jumped down the ladder, throwing the Gattling gun to the side, I pulled out my laser rifle, turned on my night vision and started to pull the trigger. The adrenaline was pumping through my system, I could hear my heart beating, feel the blood pumping through my veins. I saw every man inside the room, everything seemed to be going so slow. Edward was standing right in front of me, bringing up his own weapon.

I finished pulling the trigger and got an Enclave soldier directly between the eyes. He fell dead, I started aiming at a second when I heard more yelling, the same thing over and over again. I recognised it, I cursed, "Edward! I'm heading off to check this out, please, sir I need to go do it, I recognise that voice," I yelled over to him, when all of a sudden the voice cut out.

After regaining consciousness Vincent would glare at the Enclave scumbag guarding his cell, the rage from being tortured by this [censored] day in and day out rising to the surface. He'd quickly charge toward the bars once again, however this time the Enclave soldier was caught by surprise. Vincent would put him in a head lock, then begin slamming his head against the rusty steel bars.

"BAD DAY TO FORGET YOUR HELMET!", he screamed, only stopping when the mans head so so badly maimed that a greyish goo would begin oozing from his nose. After coming to the realization of what he'd just done, Vincent would instantly lose what little food he'd had in his stomach, finding the scene he'd created repulsive. "W-What happened to me... I wanted to do it for so long but... S-[censored] what did they do to me?!"

Young

The scribe fumbled the controls flipped a switch on command, darkening the entire base. He typed out a command in the console to activate a nearby sentry bot duo to "Remove Enclave intruders in the barracks." He didn't want to set off all robotic units yet in the base. Not yet anyways.

"They'll be attempting to start their emergency generators, sir. You have a few minutes of lights-out. I won't be able to provide surveillance intel until then, cameras are all dark." He paused momentarily, checking the layout of the base. "It seems they have some sort of holding cells down the hall. If they have prisioners they'll be there."

Edward

"Go, I'll lead the squad." he said as he emptied his pistols energy cells on a soldier who was about to shoot. "Nick, send up some more Bots to escort Pete too." he said before shooting two more soldiers with his Laser Shotgun.

Then a man lunged up behind him and shot him point blank in the chest. The armor withstood it but he accidently dropped his gun. As the man aimed the rifle up at his weak visor he rolled backwards and flicked his wrist up, activating the clasps on his armor which open up the compartment his laser rifle was in. He grabbed it and shot the man with the gun in the face before rolling back to his Laser Shotgun and holding one in each hand. One of the greatest parts of the added strength and stability Power Armor gave him was the ability to dual wield big guns like these.

Now he had two powerful guns and could see while they couldn't. Time to have some fun.

"Thank you Edward, I owe you," I said to him, making sure my night vision was working. I sprinted down the hall, panting as I made it to the holding cells. I saw an Enclave guard's corpse, I stopped, shocked, I looked in the cell behind him and there was the man I was looking for. I walked up to him, he looked terrible, "Vincent, jesus, is that you?" I asked him, his muscles were HUGE, I couldn't believe it, I shook my head, "Come on, I'm getting you out of here," I mumbled, bending over the Enclave Soldiers corpse, finding a key on his belt.

I opened up the door and swung it open, I realised that there was no light, I grimaced. I went combing through my pack and I found a spare set of goggles, I gave them to him, as well as my plasma rifle. "Here, Vincent, put the goggles on and use that rifle, we'll have to find you some armor too and your old stuff," I said to him, "Well, come on man, let's get the hell out of here!" I chuckled, then waited for him to get his goggles on.

Vincent would pause after seeing an old face he'd remembered from his time spent training at the Citadel, none other then the legendary Paladin Harrows. "Harrows... Harrows is that you? Oh man I knew you guys would come for me.. I mean they told me you wouldn't but I never gave up hope. Not even for a second..."

He'd then grin widely, his face unfamiliar with the expression after being in such a miserable hell hole for so long. He would then slip on the goggles, and inspect the plasma rifle closely. "Yeah, we need to find my gear. I'm not good with this energy stuff!", he said jokingly.

Edward

He shot a few of the soldiers first, but then decided to stop wasting ammo, so he went around snapping their necks. He then led the troops down to where the jail cells were and found him talking to a man.

"Is he one of ours?" I asked Pete to which he nodded.

"Nick, you can start up the lights again. Check out the camera footage in the jail. We have an initiate in here, and it looks like they may have been injecting him with steroids. I realise your not a doctor, but your the closest we have, do you think he is in medical danger? Maybe I should have someone take him to the doc up at Megaton."

Edward walked forward to the prisoner and held out his hand, holding a spare [non-scoped] .44 Pistol he had with him as a backup. "Sentinel Shield's the name. Heres a pistol if you prefer ballistics."

I laughed, he was probably telling the truth, even though it was in a joking way. I beckoned him to follow me, then I brang my hand up to my ear, "Hey, Nick, can you tell me where they might be keeping the prisoners gear? I'm gonna check around the cells, can you check some other places for me?" I muttered into the mic. I then turned around to Vincent, "Man, what happened to you? Your so big and you seem so different... What happened?" I asked him, in a despairing tone.

After Edward walked in, I listened to him talk, I started, "You'd have to ask him, I don't know, it's a possibility, if he needs to get sent up to Megaton, well so be it."

Vincent would salute the unknown officer, noticing he bore the marks of a Sentinel. "Sir, I feel just fine. Fine enough to fight and kick some Enclave ass, sir. If you have any MRE's on you, I'd certainly appreciate them, though. They've been feeding me god knows what for god knows how long, and at this point a battlefield ration would be heaven on Earth."

Vincent had obviously avoided the question about what took place in the laboratory, and for a time he would most likely continue to do so.

I shrugged, Vincent still had that trick of his, where he'd always assure the other he was fine. Of course, whether he was or not, only he knew. I laughed at a memory, "Okay, sir? What to do next? Vincent has a lack of equipment and, by what he said, lack of proper diet."

Vincent would nod to the Sentinel in thanks, relishing the weight of a heavy large caliber weapon in his hand again. He'd then introduce himself, finding it fitting since this man had obviously organized the rescue. "Sir, the names Initiate Vincent Lacroix, sir!"

Young

The mission wasn't going too bad at all despite an occasional fault or two. It seemed more and more likely they could actually pull off the entire thing as a success. He flipped the lights back on throughout the base, allowing him to have a view back through the cameras. He immediately noticed the odd-man out of the squad, the prisioner; who had definitely undergone significant changes through artifical means.

He leaned his head forward, "I believe one of your squad is a medic of sorts. But my opinion is that you should have him checked out as soon as possible. Who knows what the hell Enclave have been doing to their captives." He scanned the other holding cells carefully, noting several dead bodies; wastelanders who could not survive captivity. "His equipment would be most likely confiscated to the armory. Let me see if I can locate that for you."

Young cycled through the different camera views as quickly as he could.

Holding Cells A. Barracks. Labatory. Medical Bay. Storage. Robotics Factory. Death Claw Pens. Armory.

Young stopped, and reversed back to the Death Claw Pens camera. Two pen doors swung ajar eerily as an Enclave Officer stood nearby. The pens themselves were empty.

"Erm, sir. They have Deathclaws here. They have released two of them, I'd advise caution before they catch your scent."
