i dont think that CryTek will make the Xbox 360 beta first because this is the first time they make a game for consoles in the past the made pc only games so the pc gamers will have the beta earlier

It's already been confirmed that the Xbox360 will be getting the beta first. Its EA's decision unfortunately, not Crytek's. It makes many of us disappointed, but Crytek can't do much about it and EA is happy to stroke the Microsoft Moneycock.

First of all:
Yesterday you didn't know there was a beta and would have been happy to wait untill release to play.

Secondly: Crytek have never done multiplayer on consoles and probably only want to test the networking code etc, hence why its 'closed'. Since PC is their forte and crysis 1 had plenty of tested multiplayer support they probably dont need to worry about testing the PC version in beta form.

What most of you guys seem to want is to play a demo before release. A closed beta is not that. Open betas usually are.

So man up and stop complaining so much.

I'm surprised you guys didn't pick up on this earlier. At Microsft's E3 they said that they have a partnership with Crytek one of the many things they'll have is Codename kingdoms this is the other thing.

They want to make money they'll make the most on 360.

Lets face facts, there is a recession going on here, company's all over the place are doing what it takes to stay afloat/still be in profit, and the like.

Recession isnt going to end next week, so foward planning is key, extending to other platforms was a smart move and something I would have done.

The Beta issue is a bit much for some to deal with it seems, it could have been more tactfully handled but hell, come on!!! calm down a bit,

I can't understand why you people would be announcing the xbox360 beta FIRST or even acknowledging that there would definitely be a closed xbox360 beta before a PC one. You say you definitely have a closed xbox 360 beta but you aren't sure if you are going to have a PC or PS3 beta but when we all first signed up on this website it most certainly said something like exclusive rights to beta access when signing up early on this website!

I don't understand this at all. It's like false advertising and then blatantly admitting that it was a lie to your PC supporters basically to our faces.

That may seem a bit harsh and unreasonable when its said like that but there it is and it is a cold hard truth.

It may not be turning your backs on your PC supporters, you know... the people that GOT YOU STARTED. But it certainly is a slap in the face to us.

I have one question cry-lee. With you comment, it has eased my aggravations a little. I believe I understand why you are testing 360 first. It has the weakest hardware. It's the slowest console (so to speak) and you want to make sure that it is able to run it, also by seeing how other 360 fans will react to the game. Am I correct? I would then hope for a pc beta with the console to test the games more in-depth. And a ps3 beta to test the ps3's compatibility. Please reply to my query.

I hate the way the gaming industry is developing. It's not about players anymore, they don't matter to the publishers and in some cases even the devs don't care about them.

It's all about money now. It's like this:

"Hey, I have an awesome idea for this game that everyone will love!"

"Sorry, we can't do that. The players won't like it, but Microsoft has offered us this HUGE deal that will make us so much money!"

"Oh... Well, to hell with the players! We want our money."

I don't know where they get these fantastic ideas. Game developers are supported mostly by their players. OR maybe now games are just a lure for companies like Microsoft to offer big deals.

I am saddened by the way publishers no longer give a **** about players. It's all about as someone said earlier, "Stroking the moneycock."

Some people need a refresher on what a BETA actually is. It's primary role is NOT to be a demo, even if that is an offset result.

Why are Crytek announcing a BETA for 360 and not PS3/PC (yet?)? Because by definition of what a BETA is, it's the one that needs to be tested most.

The fact that this is a closed BETA is further testament to this not being a money stunt as it will have limited access which will result in limited attention. The fact that they haven't announced a PC BETA eases my mind in the hopes that it doesn't NEED to be BETA tested.

- Did i BETA test Crysis1? Yep! Was good fun too.
- Do i want to play Crysis2 as soon as possible? Of course i do.
- Am i going to cancel my pre order because 360 gets a BETA and PC doesn't? How does that even make sense?
- Am i going to suggest Crytek are abandoning PC because they want to BETA test their first console game ever? Do i even need to answer that?

I'm with you guys in the fact that i want to play Crysis2 really badly but jumping up and down, screaming "**** YOU CRYTEK!" is just plain absurd. You guys are always abusing "console noobs" for being what they are but quite frankly, some people here are really painting PC gamers in a dim light...

Ah, it's good to hear from Lee, you've given us relief. I thought that was the case, since it wouldn't make sense just to have 1 beta for 1 console.

I also agree completely with Shinanigans, it's a beta, and the people who do get picked are going to help test this game out for us. So if the 360 beta comes up first, and those who test it find some bugs/glitches, Crytek will fix it. When the next build comes up, we'll get a more fixed up beta.

So really, I don't see this as a bad thing at all.

I personally asked which Beta we were getting and highlighted the fact that we already have a large PC community. The decision was made to go with the Xbox 360 beta first, I can't change this.

I can totally dig that. As long as the other 2 platforms get it, then it's all good from here. I can also see what you mean, since this game is going multi-plat for the first time, better to spread the wings to other places before coming home. (Hope that last sentence makes sense lol )

didnt u guys realize that almost everyone on gamesas was primarily PC player, then you announce the beta stuff on a website riddled with PC gamers and just a handfull of console gamers?

i guess the logical consqeuence would be there would be a PC beta(or all platforms but at least PC) now it suddenly turned out to be a xbox beta,(on a site that still has much much much more PC gamers then console gamers)

and what now with the early registrations? you just NOT gonna keep promises of beta acces or is this gonna be: hey you got beta key but do you have a xbox? no? well svcks to be you no beta for you
