Crysis 2 Beta exclusive to 360?

Post » Mon May 24, 2010 2:15 am

i dont like to say this but crytek, **** YOU
PC gamers have been loyal to you and youll **** this game up if you do xbox360 beta only

reasons:
1: i dont trust 14 year old boys to do proper testing and reporting(no im not a fanboy but the average age on xbox is just lower en tehy only know how to play, nothing of the underlying system, PC gamers do)

2: CE3 is a complicated engine, as a result well probably see bugs with graphics, for crytek its impossible to test on the unlimited configurations possible, so a PC beta could deliver data on both gameplay and the technique behind it(glitches visual bus etc)
if there isnt a PC beta i predict a game riddled with bugs on PC version)

BTW: care to tell us how much MS payed you??

Is there any info you can release as of now that can hopefully pacify this sea of rage? :)

here's another small reason, they want to get rid of bugs for the "money maker" ....and they don't really give two monkeys if the pc is bug ridden on release

EA have stated they're releasing a closed 360 beta. That doesn't discount the possibility of others in the future and frankly I think you're all acting a tad like spoilt children over this. Other consoles exist, I'm sure this rage wouldn't be present were it a PC only beta.

Of course not Ruan, because you come from PC as your roots.

I'm only acting like this because the 360 has gotten all the footage, all the gameplay, all the marketing, and now all the beta. It makes you wonder why Crytek even bothered to make it multiplatform. It would be different if EA said other betas were coming later. It would be different if some PC footage or PS3 was shown. Instead you guys ass kiss Microsoft 24/7 and then wonder why other platforms are screaming mad when EA announces a 360 closed beta? At this rate of degradation from Crytek, dedicated servers and sandbox is questionable. =/

We are only mad because Crytek has been ass kissing Microsoft for too long now, completely neglecting any other system, and even making 360 exclusives.

How much does MS pay you for this **** excuse of a multiplatform game?

WTF everything for this game so far has been on xbox 360 and nothing else, where's pc gone all of a sudden? PC gamers deserve this more than any other console fanboy, its what makes crysis crysis. This is outrageous, seriously, all the fans that signed up early expecting a PC beta and now these children get it, cmon, at least announce a PC beta first then console? Oh and yh I wouldnt be surprised if MS payed, same story as MW2 or cod in general o_0

I dont really care, as long as I get the game when it comes out....
Isn't that all that really matters?
I think that the beta will come to pc. Most of the people who signed up for the beta have pc's. Crytek probably knows that.
They wouldn't leave out their biggest audience of the game.
Or maybe they would. Maybe the pc version needs more polish before a beta can be released for pc.
Or maybe they just like svcking Microsoft's moneydike.

The two things that Crytek should do:

1. Kick EA in the balls.
2. Publish their own games

It's not really unreasonable for us to be disappointed/angry/annoyed. What if you were a 360 player waiting to play a quintessential 360 game (like GOW 3) and then Epic announces that the game is multiplatform (which is all fine and dandy), but THEN they only advertise for PC and offer a PC exclusive beta, all while trying to slate that the game is still "multiplatform" and tells the 360 fans to svck it because they have a lot of good titles already???

Yet everyone will buy it in the end...

I think it should multiplatform, but it's not. That doesn't constitute saying that it svcks.

Response to 1. I am 14. I do agree though that many (NOT all) of the people who play on consoles (ESPECIALLY mw2) are immature and stupid (At least online).
-----------
Reponse to 2. Do you get a console (In-game terminal type thing) on consoles? If not, that would make it harder to look into bugs (by changing vars, reloading video etc.) if you are trying to report them.

And you do raise a good point about the many configs not being tested. Xbox 360's are mostly the same (except for very slight differences depending on when they were built).

----------

Another thing is that if the only people who get to play the beta are on the 360, it may take away potential multiplayer players from the PC and PS3.

Any 'crysis' that panders so much to the xbox with it's second rate hardware is not crysis. The xbox wouldn't even be able to run the original on high without exploding. This is not crysis 2, this is crysis 0.5. That's right, it's not even as good as the original, and i can tell you that before it's even released.

Better graphics? Oh piss off, it'll be the crysis engine with a couple of extra particle effects and put in a much smaller city. Console crysis = fail crysis, we always knew it was coming, news like this just makes it worse.

I own a 360, and i'm sure as hell not downloading crysis 2 onto that pile of junk, so crytek better make a pc demo before the game is released to back up their claims of the game even deserving the crysis name or no-one is going to buy it.

I don't mind that it's on the Xbox 360. I also doubt that this will be used as a traditional beta and more along the lines of a demo.
