Yeah... but he's not saying synths in general are all abominations that must be exterminated. He's saying the Institute is. So, yes, I could see him still annihilating the Institute and the ability to create new synths, but he also knows first-hand now that synths can be decent people, and not necessarily worthy of a complete genocide unless absolutely necessary. See the part where he says, "If I have to."
Maxson is the pro-genocide guy, here. Removing him might very well make the difference.
You had to post this and make me pine for what could have been? You're killing me, Smalls.
PALADIN DANSE WILL LEAD US!
LEAD US TO EXTERMINATE THE HUMAN DISEASE!
ALL HAIL THE AGE OF THE PERFECT IMMORTAL MACHINE!
ALL HAIL SHODAN!
I'm personally pleased that this wasn't in the game. Seriously? If you challenge the Elder to a duel and win you become the Elder? Did Roger Maxson write that rule down when he made the Brotherhood?
I personally like the idea of Danse becoming the Elder. He's already completely indoctrinated with Brotherhood beliefs and he's immortal.
So we just plug him into a ZAX machine shaped like a Golden Throne?
To be fair, DUELING sounds like a perfectly legitimate Brotherhood practice.
Because they're lunatics.
Danse becoming Elder is because he and the PC are one of three Sentinels which exist.
Damn...I would have taken this option in a heartbeat!
I don't know what a ZAX machine is but it could work.
i'm more of a fan of the "lead from the front" types, but whatever boats your float
Lets be honest, nobody would ever side with any of the other factions except the Institute if this was still in the game.
Well, even now the real battle is between Institute and BoS endings. Railroad is so far behind that it is not even funny.
I'm honestly surprised at that. I would have thought the Railroad would be a competitor with Institute at least, since people seem pretty split on synths and all the awesome companion characters you get who are synths. The BoS are such a-holes I have a real hard time making myself fall in line with them. A DLC where I can take charge or put someone in command who isn't such a zealot would go a looooooong way to making me support the Brotherhood 100%. I hate Maxson with a passion.
You have a Pip Boy!
YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE!
I think Cait should be Elder. "People of the Brotherhood. We have drunk Boston dry. Time to scout out other regions with Irish heritage that might still have booze."
Time scale literally means nothing in these games. You accomplish almost everything in the span of a few weeks of in-game days (for the most part). I don't think it changes much at all either, assuming you are going in blind. If you know in retrospect how everything works out, then of course you can pick the course you find most appealing, but if played in a realistic manner, or like you would the first go around, then you are making decisions based on the moment to moment interactions you have. When I did that I ended up siding with the Railroad, which I didn't feel 100% comfortable with, but it made the most sense after what I saw in the Institute and after what the Brotherhood asked of me.
