Well...
That certainly changes things.
All Hail Elder Survivor!
All Hail Elder Danse!
Oh and the Brotherhood of Steel practices, "You keep what you kill."
What the hell! Was this an actual option for the Blind Betrayl quest?! You could kill Maxson and Danse becomes Elder?!
I would've totally sided with them to see this happened. Maxson was a hugeeeeee jerk whose personality completely overshadowed what the Brotherhood was about.
EDIT: Just read the title. I'm actually super confused and a little frustrated right now. Why the hell would they cut something like this and ship the working files with the game. This is exactly why people are hating on how limited the quests and dialogue were!

Well this is why I never save over the same file. I have every save I've ever made. Finding the right one is hard, though.
You're certain this wasn't cut content though? Seems kind fo convoluted. If the only way to proc it is to kill Maxson, some of this dialogue is wasted.
Damn this is some fine speech! I hope Beth actually implements this someday because I got goosebumps by just listening to this!
One of things people desire from DLCs is the power to influence your chosen faction. The reason for this is: the game makes it feel like you would want to do that.
Now it seems that Beth actually did want to do that but did not finish it for whichever reason. It is either time constraints or not being able to finish it for enoguh factions.
You think will be a dlc or is just a cut content?
Cut content no doubt. But it MIGHT get re-implemented in some kind of DLC.
something tells me this will come back in DLC
I tried killing Maxson. I became enemies with the brotherhood and danse started shooting me
Damn, that was cool, now I'm sad.
I'm guessing this is gone for good unless they have plans on expanding factions through DLC that includes quests before the end of the game.
Such a shame that this was not in the game. I'd love to help Danse become Elder.
lolwut. If this was an option, I guarantee that practically no one would join the Minutemen or RR.
Considering Danse still hates synths and the audio has him outright say he hates synths, I think the RR would still be annihilated.
Danse isn't becoming elder. He says "take your place as Elder of the brotherhood."
Yeah. I like Maxson but I'm pretty chafed that the one thing I wanted -- a BoS companion that was cool -- ends up not really being usable at the end of the game because it puts you at odds with your faction.
I can see why this was cut.
After how many people constantly whine, [censored], and moan, that Bethesda allows you to become the leader of all the factions, this would be pretty silly.
I can also imagine the collective scream as people yell LORE [censored]!!!! for the BoS making an outsider, or a robot, Elder.
The 8 endings thing is baloney.
I think we all know that now.
Especially since there's one ending for all eight.
I followed FO4 development with much care and I can't for sake of me remember anything about the "promised 8 endings" o_O
