DLC Suggestions #4

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 8:27 pm

They should add some gas masks in one of the upcoming DLC's, they look cool, and they aren't.
Also, could they should make a DLC similar to 'The Pitt' off Fallout 3? I liked it because it was dark and creepy, more so then Fallout normally is.
More duster coats and stuff like that, similar to what the Veteran NCR Rangers wear, but without the riot gear maybe.
And yes, more weapon mods please.
Would be heckaz if they did ANY of this.

I think he meant that to switch to the under-barrel grenade launcher you switch to 40mm by hitting the ammo change button.

I think it's genius and a $10 answer to a $1,000 question.

It would definitely make the Service Rifle more useful. Right now it's only useful early on in the game, so by adding a grenade launcher to the rifle, it gives the player more of a reason to continue using it.

Perhaps even make a rechambering mod for the rifle that would modify it to fire .308 rounds with a decrease in magazine capacity to ten.

Burned Man DLC including the cut companion Ulysses that increases the level cap to 40 but introduces a whole new bunch of overpowering new enemies.

Area 51 DLC with a whole bunch of energy weapons and other stuff

The Return Of the Enclave DLC basically its pretty much a rogue Enclave Scientist wants to restore the Enclave to its glory days and you need to stop him.

Edited- How about the return of the Gifted Trait

Why stop him? What's wrong with the Enclave returning to it's former glory? If anything, I personally need an Enclave faction to be a part of.

Could we get another Grenade Launcher which fires away plasma, incendiary and pulse grenades only?
Incendiary being it's normal ammo.
Plasma being it's special variant.
And pulse if you want to get fancy against robots.

Explosives really need more anti-DT weapons.

Homing Twin-Rocket Launcher, a rocker launcher which fires two heat-seeking rockets. (Does not work against ghouls, feral or not, nor lakelurks (Since Broken Steel had ghouls have no body tempature))

Grenade Shotgun, a rifle which has six barrels and launches them all out at once, great DPS but not so good DAM.

Air-strike, after helping the Boomers it would be nice to get the explosives equivalent of the Archmides laser.

Cluster Grenade, if anyone has played the "Worms" games they'd know what I'm talking about.

Molotov mine, a craftable mine which follows a movement seeking pattern once set. (like the frag mine and not like the bottlecap mine which requires enemies to step on it.) (A molotov cocktail isn't usually an explosive weapon really since they don't actually "explode", this mine on the other hand would explode into a rain of fire.)

Proximity Grenade Rifle, a rifle which shoots out a proximity grenade that will stick onto enemies and explode after 3-7 seconds, if another enemy walks close to this enemy it will explode, if 7 seconds go by with an additional enemy walking past this enemy then it will explode by itself.

Explosives really could use more weapons.

The DLC I'd most like to see would be a trip to the Grand Canyon to find to "Burned Man" and also a venture out to Area 51, I dunno how they could ever miss these opportunities!

More varied NPCs for each faction.

NCR need:
Sappers (Lay Mines have one handed weapons) An army defending against another would use these.
Artillery Troops (Use Missile/grenade launchers and grenade machineguns) Long range barrage troops.

Legion Need:
Animal Masters (Captured and trained animals, higher level player better the animals Trainer fights at meleé range with the animal) They use slaves why not use animals?
Field Frumentarii [sp] (Silenced weapons camo-ed up legion armour, and high sneak so as not to be obvious on radar) They have spies yet we see like 2 in the whole game.

Fiends/Great Khans/Powder Gangers Need:
Berserker - (Melee Range, big scaryish armour high DT) Almost ODing on the drugs charging into battle.
Lifers (Had life sentences, really hardcoe criminals using better explosives, have ragtag armour but quite strong) Just better powder gangers.

I want to see some ceasars legion DLC and Burned Man DLC. either hunt down the burned man for ceasar or allow him to rule the legion.

CL DLC is possibly called Honest Hearts, And it involves the burned man.

According to some G.E.C.K.ulators..

EDIT: And possibly New Canaan from some grafitti in game.

I would like to see a load more mods for the weapons. Torches for the guns would be a nice touch, imagine seeing a few BOS soldiers running through a dark sewer with beams of light coming from their guns. :disco:

I would also like to see a small settlement similar to Big Town in Fallout 3, so I can help them by reverse pickpocketing equipment. ^_^

Time for me to suggest what I want most again:

hardcoe Mode +1

  • H20, SLP and FOD meters go up three times as fast.
  • Radiation intake is tripled (Or maybe just x2.5)
  • Doctor Bags cost 500 caps
  • Doctors cost 500 caps to heal your health, radiation or addiction level. (Doc Mitchell will do all three for 250 caps but only heal limbs to 50% and only remove half the radiation)
  • If you don't meet the weapons soft requirement then you're going to sway alot more and reload slower despite your Agility stat if you don't meet it.
  • If you don't meet the Strength Requirement then reload speed should be much more slower than it currently is, weapons sway more and recoil is like crazy.
  • Caps have weight.
  • Healing items (Chems and stimpacks) have weight.
  • Repair vendors charge twice as much as they currently do.
  • Weapon mods' price is increased by five times.
  • Ammo weight is tripled (excluding missiles which already have a ridiculous 3 weight.)

And then hardcoe Mode +2
All of the above but also with:
  • No fast-travel.

I'll update it later if I can think of other things to add.

I have installed two mods that do the above beautifully. I imagine I will never play FNV again without these two mods installed. Fast travel is a choice you always have. I have completed most of my first playthrough without using fast travel except for hiring and firing companions in order to complete the companion quests.

Harder hardcoe Rates mod (refined rates option)

360 user, can't use mods.
And I know fast-travel is a choice but it wouldn't hurt to have a +2 excluding it.

Please add in assassins or bounty hunters for each faction if we piss them off.
Like these:
Powder Gangers.
NCR.
Legion.
Khans.
Houses Securitrons. (Yes they'll go outside of Vegas/Freeside.
Kings. (Yes they'll go outside of Vegas/Freeside.
Van Graffs. (If you slaughter the store then Jean Baptiste and Glorias mother will send her own assassins after you)
Nightkin. (Black Mountain, kill them off then you'll get Nightkin after you/Kill Keene)
Fiends. (Yes add a reputation bar with them, I know it can only go down.)
Boomers. (If you kill Pearl and Loyal)
Brotherhood Of Steel. (If you kill even one of their soldiers)
Gun Runners.
Crimson Caravan.
White Glove
Omerta.
Tops.

I know it's a long list but I really think there should be more to it if we piss off a faction.

The ability to more customize your settings . give more enemies power armor or remove it all together . More or fewer enemies .Re spawn on or off . A list of guns and how many . For instance giving the powder gangers all riot shotguns or all nitkins having chainsaws, mini-guns or just melee weapons . If I played with a Mele Chartres and most enemies had long range rifles I would have to charge everyone Allow setting for different enemies Bump death claws Dt up to that of Mega Give powder gangers the same Dt as super mutants . all this could be controlled by the player . I would buy this game at 50 .00 even if you didn't add any other DLC .

It'd be easier with an Extreme Mode which ups equipment, health, damage, small increase to DT and numbers to enemies.

Soooo....

Extreme Mode pl0x!

No seriously, I'd really like that.
A non-canon mode which gives the enemy (or ally if you side with them) incredible equipment.
Sure the PC could get it as well once one kills a hostile NPC but it would still be a challenge.
Maybe just up and remove things like young gecko's or purple gecko's and molerats and replace them with something more dangerous like big packs of nightstalkers.

Just imagine how hard it would be at early levels when Powder Gangers run around with missile launchers and plasma grenades.
Or how NCR Troopers are all of the sudden armed with sniper rifles and Assault Carbines.
Or how Legionnaires are armed with stuff like Super Sledge and Ballistic fists.
Or how Nightstalkes at early levels have 5 more in their DT and their poison twice as dangerous.

It would be awesome.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I would love to have a working stove top/oven in the Lucky 38 suite.

Also the ability to fast travel to the Lucky 38 or any of the casinos on the Strip.

Get rid of the invisible walls.

More interesting building interiors.

A new side quest only completeable with max intelligence . While wondering the wast you come across a small boy who tells you his dad is trapped in a cave by three mole rats. The boy tells you they found lots of caps in the cave and he'll give you 1000 caps to help rescue his dad . So you agree head to the cave and as you get to the middle of the cave you see an open room with a mound . The boy says hurry it's just over the mound . As to get to the top of the mound you see lots of ammo boxes and lot and lot of bodies then comes a dialog seine where three Mega death claws appear to the boys side and the boy in an evil look say " you fell for it Mr . just like all the others. Now you get some dialog choices you can try to fight or beg for your life or try to trick the boy or with a high Med and science you notice one of the death claws looks ill .If successful you ask the boy about the sick Deathclaw and ask if you can have a look . After inspection you see the death claw ate a ghoul that gave it an infection . Now with high speech and Barter you ask the boy what he will do if the death claws die from illness . The boy then acts sad . You offer to heal the death claw for 1000 dollars and ask him only to eat enemy factions You then barter a deal to rerun one time a week or month to check up on the death claws fro 1000 caps the quest ends as you walk out the door, you come across an enemy faction who wants to rob you but with high speech you send them to the cave .

I'd like a DLC to flesh out existing areas and buildings that are boarded up and unused, making the area less ... empty. One of my favorite player created mods in FO3 was Chucksteel's DC Interiors. It was amazing how much little things like that added to the game.

Posted this as a topis... sorry. :(

Alright, me and my friend (who could write this much more eloquently if he was part of the blog) came up with some great ideas for New Vegas DLC. Of course, we both compained about ED-E being gone and other glitches for 20 minutes, but nonethless, we have hope, and great ideas!

Idea #1: Sierra Nevada
Description: Sierra Safari Zoo was one of the places protected by House's intercept missiles. Though it was heavily irradiated, the residents have... survived. Stories tell of treasures within the zoo. Ghoulified and savage zookeepers roam in the buildings, as the surviving, sane staff keeps themselves barricaded at the entrance lobby. Some great attractions you'll see include:
Rotting Elephants and Giraffes
Raptor-like Ostriches and Emus
Ghoulified Chimpanzees and Gorillas
Massive Snakes and Monitors
Nearly Impenetrable Rhinos and Crocodiles
...and much, much more!

It's all about fun, and killing every mutated creature you can think of! And in the end, you might just find a couple new companions, even more loyal than Rex. An Orangutan or Lemur? A Parrot on your shoulder? A alpha-male lion with a demonic look? it's all up to you... and maybe Bethesda, if they take this idea seriously.

Idea #2: Operation: Return to Anchorage
Description: Embark on an old crabbing ship to Alaska. Embark into the green, nearly untouched lower reaches, where you'll be relatively safe, and the few small villages live on almost normal. However, just across the way, Eskimos become Raiders have taken over some of the Chinese compounds. Some of the Chinese, ghoulified, themselves still function! Chimera tanks litter the land, and both groups have control over some. Will you find a way to save the peaceful villages from both groups? Or will you become an Insane Inuit mercenary? Or, worse yet... will you join the Communists and turn the white snow into a red carpet? Other attractions in post-apocalyptic Anchorage include:
19 ft. Kodiak Yao-Gui
Navigable sled dog transportation
New hardcoe monitor: Body Temperature
Navigable Chimera tanks
US Army Base Remnants
Crashes B-29s, vehicles, tanks, and other vehicles littering the tundra
A ship ride, harpoons, and a massive, irradiated ocean.... and legends of Moby Nuke, the great glowing green whale!
A new companion: A functional prototype miniature model of Liberty Prime... and you'll have to shred through a secured base to find him. He was originally sent to boost troop morale and assure the big guy was coming and that they "had the technology." He still knows how to handle his laser, scaled down to Gauss Rifle power, and auto-produces Mini nukes whenever from parts such as Novac's Rocket Toys, Scrap Metal, Anything Irradiated, or Plasma mines and grenades. of course, he tosses these in battle, but he can make them for you. He was never intended for real battle, but was ready for it... and will see it many, many years later.

This isn't a direct reply to you (below), but it kind of explains why crazy things are better. Who doesn't want to fight irradiated giraffes and a communist army?

Doesn't a zoo have like a limited number of animals?
How would a dozen giraffes be able to survive the blast from the bombs, the radiation, the hostility of the wasteland and sickness and next to no food for 200 years?
(Can ghoulified animals have babies?)

Hyuugaman
Area 51 is not a confirmed DLC.
And Mothership Zeta was a bit too much. Almost everyone agrees on that.
I said that House's missile deflected the worst. Or something can be made to make the story plausible. They wont bomb the entire desert, they might miss something. And you also forget, Ghouls live for hundreds of years. If just a few of the animals survived, they would all go crazy eating each other and all the food that has been stockpiled. Food stands, buildings full of food, zookeepers, other animals, and plants? I think they would have enough food. Complete realism in this matter doesn't seem like a huge deal to me anyway. The hostility of the wasteland is handled by being fairly enclosed... and people don't go looking around in lands full of lions,, rhinos, elephants, etc.

Even if Zeta was kind of crazy, it was a hell of a lot more fun than the boring Anchorage simulation and The Pitt. Point Lookout and Zeta's off-the-wall fun made them good. And if a game with Super Mutants, crazy robots, Aliens, and massive arthropods isn't already " a bit too much" I don't want to know what is.

I want to see communists, irradiated animals of all sorts, drive things, and have fun doing it. I can sacrifice a [i]little[/]i of the realism, which it doesn't have a ton of to start with. Which I am fine with! Some real, some funny and crazy is good.

I broke into tears at you calling Op:Anch boring. :sadvaultboy:

That said, it wouldnt make sense, Mr. House clearly stated he sent subset disarm codes to the missles, most crashed harmlessly, but there are also 5 or 6 craters I've found that fit into being hit by atomic warheads, I likely havent found the last one. Anything outside of the Vegas Region wouldnt be so fortunate sad to say, but assuming your 'sierra nevada' idea is the same place, there is a DLC coming out soon taking place at Sierra Madre or something like that.
