Don't defend Bethesda

The statements that you've made that are bolded really intrigue me. You have absolutely no evidence to suggest that this is the case. Your notion that the majority of Skyrim players are not having any prblems comes strictly from your own head.

The poll I've linked below for the PS3 version shows that, in a survey of over 26 thousand players, more than 75% had problems with the game. And this poll was only about lag. It didn't even get into broken quests and the myriad of other glitches that people are dealing with. I'd say the majority is clearly on the other side. I haven't found a survey specific to the 360 version post-patch 1.2 but I'm guessing the numbers would be quite similar.

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1213194p1.html

if as many people as you say had problems then forum would be more full of people not the same few bringing up the same issue we already know about, thats not in my head thats in front of me.
most people are smart enough to see there might be issue and either carry on playing as most are untill the fix comes out, or play something else if they are that worried about it.

intrestinging poll for some but since i base my game on what my own version is doing it dont mean much.

your poll might mean something if it actualy showed who really owned the game as it is, anyone with dummy accounts could vote yes or no on it.

or since we are on the 360 Hardware and Software forums, a poll of 360 issues

i did change my post, but i dont agree with any poll if it is not tied to some proof they even own the game, for or against.

hes only posted as a general idea though , as ps3 and pc have different issues as rule to to 360.

Grilling a steak is not the same as programming complex code.

It doesn't matter how difficult or how easy something is to do. My point was that customers don't want to hear "I'm sorry, but my job is really hard." as an excuse. If you're selling it, and making money off of it, it really ought to, you know.... work. You can say what you will, but the finished product speaks for itself. Every other thread in the general discussion forum seems to be pertaining to bugs and not just trivial ones. A large of number of them falling into the "How they hell did they not notice this?" category. Yes, many thousands of gamers are going to find more bugs that would slip past a small team of bug-testers. I get that. But this game was was released in a sad state, and it shouldn't have been released on PS3 at all judging by the sounds of things.

Its also just easier to find someone to blame (Bethesda) when issues arise even though it may have been out of their control to see. Its very possible the game checked ok and that quite simply at the time the code was good to go. You can only speculate and assume what happened durig the development process and because you feel slighted in the whole ordeal it makes you feel better to lay complete blame on the Company for the issues. Maybe Im just a bit more understanding that issues happen.

"Find someone to blame?" Who else are we meant to blame, if not Bethesda? Justin Bieber?

Of course Bethesda is responsible. I say "responsible" because there's a difference between "blame" and "responsibility." It doesn't matter what happened behind the scenes. As I've said, the finished product speaks for itself. At the end of the day, they're responsible for putting out an incomplete/broken product.

Besides a few minor issues the finished product was fine. Patch 1.2 isnt part of the finished product that seems to have borked alot of PS3 users. But its not an issue that affects everyone either. Im still pretty certain that issues that are happening are in the minority.

Just look at Windhelm man, that pretty much screams ''unfinished''. Terrible, terrible textures. I spend as little time as possible in N64 land we so fondly refer to as Windhelm. DrunklastKnight, what's up with you guy? You must be the most forgiving costumer I have ever seen. Not that it's the bad thing or anything. It's just...somewhat strange.

Besides a few minor issues the finished product was fine.

You're clearly a Bethesda-can-do-no-wrong cheerleader if you're actually making this claim. "A few minor issues." Funny.

Here's your "few minor issues"

-Post bugs that you know of, please make sure they aren't already in the list (USE CTRL+F)
-Remember that you may not always encounter a bug sometimes it just depends on the circumstances leading up to it
-It is a bug for quest items to remain BUT they actually don't weigh anything

intrestinging poll for some but since i base my game on what my own version is doing it dont mean much.
This is the problem. You are one of the fortunate ones who hasn't had any problems with their game and so now you think everyone else is just making it up. You and DrunkLastKnight even go as far as to suggest that the poll is made up of "dummy votes". So everything is really just fine and a whole bunch of people are just making up the idea that their game isn't working? Is that how things go in your world?

Let me explain something to you. This is real. This is happening. It's quite childish to assume that anything that is outside of your experience, cannot actually exist.

The whole, "every game has bugs" argument is really poor. Yes, most games have a bug or two upon release but they are usually not major bugs that cause people to stop playing the game and they are usually patched up within a week or two. This is especially true for big budget titles that are backed by massive studios. They usually create things to a high standard. This game has been out for nearly a month now and there are many players who cannot actually play it. What's worse, the issues with the game have intensified over time instead of improving.

Now considering the fact that this is Bethesda's own forum which they designed for people to report and discuss technical issues, what on Earth are you doing in here? You aren't helping anyone with their problems and you don't even have any problems (with the game) of your own. You're just here to tell people to stop complaining? Do yourself a favor and just go play your (working) copy of the game and have fun. Let the people in here do what they feel they must do to try to get their game working ASAP.

You're clearly a Bethesda-can-do-no-wrong cheerleader if you're actually making this claim. "A few minor issues." Funny.

Here's your "few minor issues"

How many of those were prepatches?

Would play but wife is playing and I have kids to watch. Being more constructive and say exactly what is happening will fix issues faster than just saying 'well this is broke now fix it.'

Besides a few minor issues the finished product was fine. Patch 1.2 isnt part of the finished product that seems to have borked alot of PS3 users. But its not an issue that affects everyone either. Im still pretty certain that issues that are happening are in the minority.

Give it up, no matter how much you love Bethesda and believe they can do no wrong, there are plenty of people who's experience has taught them otherwise. I highly doubt you are going to convince the MANY who have had issues with Skyrim that Bethesda are all about customer service, hugs and happiness.

It's great for you that your experience has been fun, not everyone has been as lucky...

Did you even read the list? The OP of that thread has been regularly updating it. It's current. Those bugs are still outstanding. I thought that would have been made obvious by the references to patch 1.2, but oh well.

It is what it is, blame Bethesda if you must, hell blame Sony/Microsoft for letting the patches go live. Blame whoever makes you feel better. The simple fact is blaming people is not gonna fix diddly. I reported this post so hopefully a mod will close it

There are probably somewhere near 4-5 million copies floating around. Lets say for instance we get a figure that sounds reasonable, the PS3 poll had around 50K votes, these boards have several hundred or so for each platform, and say around 100-300K people are having issues. Thats vastly a small number that are having issues. Even if these numbers are off, I doubt its no more than 25% of the amount of copies sold of people having issues.

Granted I will say its unfortunate not everyone can play Skyrim to its fullest but they are working on hashing out all the major stuff within the coming weeks. I still think even with low res textures it looks better than Oblivion but thats just me.

I don't understand people like you. If you don't like the subject matter, then don't read it. Instead, you'd rather suppress debate you don't want to see.

No. Just no. In actuality, every poll that's out there on the game indicates that the majority of people who have purchased it, are experiencing problems. Your 25% estimate has no basis in reality whatsoever. There is not a single poll or measure that has even indicated that half of the players are not having issues.

end of day if some are having a big a problem as they claim then thats a real shame since some of them make such nice posts you have to feel sorry for them.

personaly im off to do another cave.

i got no respect for people on a forum who hide behind names and make big posts on games ever since another forum someone made big posts about game being unplayable till someone looked up his profile and saw how many hours he had put in. its why i only use my proper xbox name, if you got nothing to hide why use names like buggy skyrim etc as examples. i would put money on it that if you checked them they would have most of the achivements after claiming its unplayable.

And the polls are of no real indication either as its only pertains to those that VOTED. Just like this forum isnt a good sampling of how many are affected neither are polls as most that are not having issues will not bother with polls. That poll had a minority of people reporting in with no issues. It does not mean that majority of the people are having issues

Well then. Your mind is clearly made up. No matter what people say in this forum and no matter what independent polls indicate, Bethesda can do no wrong in your eyes. That's a testiment to how good their games really are when they actually work. You are a very loyal customer and mediocre games certainly don't create that kind of devotion.

Unfortunately, it renders you incapable of providing any kind of productive contribution to the issues being discussed in this forum. Your "it's not so bad" and "it's to be expected" comments are totally useless to the people who have been sidelined by these glitches.

DRUNKLASTNIGHT is clearly an extremely devoted fan but does he not realize his posts do nothing to help people having genuine problems with this product. This broken product, This product that does not work as intended. If I didn't have any problems i would not even be wasting my time on this forums so there is clearly an agenda he and his ilk have. The consumer has done nothing wrong, we just want a product that works correctly, you are very strange as you seem to revel in our misery and defend your almighty god Bethesda. You do not help at all in trying to silence people with genuine problems, you sir are a DISGRACE to the gaming commuinty who just want a working product.

/agreed

great another one who does not understand software compared to a physical item like car. if i car has a fault then they recall it as it could kill you or cause serious damage, if a game has a bug then it wont kill you and it wont casue serious damage.

You are absolutely not going to admit that Bethesda are responsible for this mess of a release are you?

I am asking this seriously, do you work for Bethesda?

Many many people on multiple platforms are experiencing major issues with this game, and as one of them, i gotta say, you WILL NEVER convince me that Skyrim was released in an acceptable state. A product that fails for (this is your claim not mine) a whopping 25% of users is simply unacceptable.
