Dont play Dead is Dead

you have to remember that the old RPGs that had DiD were made for it. the glitchy, horribly balanced nature of skyrim means that you are far more likely to die for stupid reasons rather than from a genuine failure on your part. if it wasnt a trap, it would have been a falmer shadowcaster 30 levels above you or an immovable NPC blocking your escape from said shadowcaster.

were this a real DiD RPG, you would have made a saving throw to determine if the trap hit you. if you died, it was because you had crappy agility and never really specialized in defending against that sort of surprise attack. but this is skyrim, and the only thing that can save you from a trap is foreknowledge and/or physical movement.

I've personally never played DiD in any game, but i can see the appeal. In fact i've rather enjoyed watching Kata's cast this week and may give it a go once i've played through the game a few times. The fact that some of you can't except the fact that perfectly normal people with lives enjoy playing in a fashion different than you is sad, and the fact that you feel the need to attack them for it is down right pathetic.

Oh in the spirit of full disclosure i'm a 41 year old hobo who lives under a bridge. I have never, nor do i ever intend to, worked a day in my life. I bought a gaming PC with government assistance and have jacked it into the city's power lines illegally since i can't afford to pay for electricity and i play skyrim 192hrs a week.

if you are playing DiD, and love your character, and played many hours, then DON'T go in any dungeons! They have da boobytraps!

You'd be surprised how many peolpe expire in the world anticlimatically. I'd think in your situation thats just fitting. your death wasn't glorious, or life changing. nah you just got offed for being Careless

I deleted a whole slew of posts. Folks, if you see someone deliberately derailing a thread or just being rude, report the post and ignore them, don't quote them endlessly, make more work for me. Thanks..> Carry on.

On topic: I die to frequently doing random stupid stuff to ever play DiD. :)

I tend to pay a lot more attention when playing a DiD character. I'll absolutely scour a dungeon floor for potential pressure plates and make sure I have decent supply of health potions. Yeah it blows when your character inevitably dies but if you like to roleplay a lot like me you actually become invested in their survival and the game becomes more interesting in general.

Definitely not for everybody though.
