Dragon Age: Origins

Yup, pretty well known. :)

So... random question... in the Ruined Temple, during the Ashes quest, at some point you find a black pearl, which ends up in your quest items inventory section. I have never noticed a related quest for that - is there one?

It is necessary to have both the Black Pearl and the Taper in one's inventory in order to light the Brazier in the Main Hall of the http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Ruined_Temple and obtain http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Codex_Entry:_The_Holy_Brazier.

You need to have both it and the taper to light the brazier if I remember

Ah, thanks to both of you. I guess I never noticed. I am not really sure what the holy brazier even does, since I can never find the holy marshmallows to use there either. :)

Yea I seen a little bit of it awhile ago, and that's where I recognized the voice from.

The most amazing thing is that she plays a heartless shrew in Farscape, too. :-|

I was thinking chestnuts, but yes, you get a codex entry and as far as I know the chest in the ash wraith room with the elven 'goodies' doesn't appear till you do, but I never tested that

Some of you people totally into Dragon Age: Origins might want to watch http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0187636/. You'll be in for a... "vocal" surprise. :P

Yeah, she's also in Uncharted 2 and Mass Effect 2. She's been busy lately, by the looks of it.

Spoiler
on the throne, look for three triggers (loose paving stones that click) and the 4th member of the party reads the throne again. I realised what was going on because it is similar to the Aeducan shield quest of the dwarven noble, just less obvious. It's not a difficult dragon thank the maker
, three of those would have been too many in one game.

Y'know what'd make my day for this game? A random dungeon crawl DLC of some kind, just where it generates random enemies, random traps and whatnot... Something that you can keep doing over and over and raise the Level Cap a bit. I wouldn't mind facing down more dragons and the like. The few dragons that are in the game dissapoints me, the High Dragon is quite weak when you know how to beat it. I've defeated that stupid Purple thing 4 times on Nightmare now. <_< I like the armor though, that armor is awesomeness in... Armor form. Whatever type you prefer.

Although, I am a svcker for the King's Armor now, mwahaha... I like Gold, I always wanted that.

Now I just need Duncan's armor and my collection will be complete... *Rubs hands together with an evil glint in eyes*

Hmm... I wish there was a Necromancer Specialization...

Interesting. Thanks, yiasemi.

Last night I reached the Dead Trenches area with my dwarven commoner character. It's a little odd having Oghren along -- two dwarven commoner characters in the same party. But watching my characters beat down the darkspawn, it occurred to me again that I love this game (though nearly ready to move on to other games). Having your characters performing more than hack and slash -- striking with their shields and the pommel of their swords -- that was a good touch in this game. Or the finishing moves, like Sten turning his back and putting the two-hander sword through the enemy.

DO the throne thing above before you crown a king, or it won't work!

Fighting a Level 21 Sten as a Mage is harder than the Broodmother boss fight :meh:

LOL - was it really that much trouble to unlock a chest?

Ha - I didn't spot this either, and wasn't until a much later play-through, when I asked a friend about the clanking platform in the main hall or something. That was one puzzle that just completely escaped me. Sweet reward though, now I never forget to do it. There have been several small quests or things triggered that I never noticed early on. I know I have referenced Asunder a time or two - that was one that I didn't even realize it was a quest, further didn't realize that I had at some point picked up all the necessary components for it, then saw something I could click, that I had not seen in earlier passes through the Deep Roads and then got a pretty entertaining surprise. (Note:
Spoiler
If you do Asunder, take the cash, unless you don't need it. There are, sadly, no consequences to going with the greed route, instead of the protection of humanity route.)

Heh. I love that move.

Found something recently that I'm surprised I didn't think of sooner.
Spoiler
When an ogre has picked up one of your characters and is preparing to beat him or her to death, just use the force field spell on your own character. He or she ends up suspended in midair or on the ground and safe from damage while the rest of your party is whaling away on the ogre. Kind of a cheesy way to save your character, but better than having to revive them.

Also, the "playing dead" ability of rogues can come in handy. I used it for the first time lately, with Leliana. It enabled her to survive the werewolves, see them walk away, then get up and, by running down the tunnel, revive the rest of the party.

You have too much Oblivion in you... :P

The level cap is raised in the expansion, and the more dragons you add, the less special they become (whatever they still retain lol).
