Dragonborn the worst bethesda dlc ever

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 7:33 pm

I like everything but Dragon Riding
I even liked that...I never really saw dragons as a tamable/rideable creature....I'm pretty satisfied with this DLC and everything in it...not to be a really devoted fan.

Now, I saw this topic and couldn't believe the title, and I want to voice my opinion unchanged by any other posts, so before I go through and read all seven pages, I want to voice it here and now.

1.) Dragon Riding - I agree completely. I expected to have them as horses (albeit some that I must still control by way of shout), and I had planed to ride one from Riften to Solitude and everywhere in between. I couldn't do that, and it truly did seem rushed I agreed with this one.

2.) Werebears - I want to play as Beorn so bad... I wanted to be a Werebear so bad... It was rushed, too. I partly agree, but I am thankful that they are even in the game at all, and although with Bethesda it is a stretch, they may have included it to have a working model to test reactions before the next DLC (optimism).

3.) Morag Tong - It is a common mistake with the developers misspelling it in conversation with that one guy in the Thieves' Guild (forgot his name), but it is "Morag," not "Morang." Again, it is a common mistake due to their ignorance (they needed a dev. from Morrowind to do that part and other things). As for not being able to join, they are mortal enemies with the Dark Brotherhood, so they would have to change the vanilla storyline as well, as they are in it, and that would take a long time, plus most people have already done the quests. They really should have made one able to join if they destroyed the Brotherhood or never joined.

4.) Apocrypha - I think they did fine on this one. Of course it wasn't open world - it houses forbidden knowledge, of course it isn't easy to reach. It houses puzzles and battles to stop the unworthy in their tracks.

5.) New Unique Amors - Although they added barely any of these at all, they ones that have are amazing, and the new enchantments on older armor are (excuse my pun) enchanting. I am satisfied with them. Furthermore, you seemed to have left out the praise on unique weapons. There are many of them, and the use of them can be quite fruitful!

6.) Spears - Spears were the biggest dissappointment... I hoped that they could be used as the spears from Morrowind. I would have even been slightly satisfied if you could throw them like the Rieklings do, but no, you have to shoot them with a bow... I hope they actually do include spears in the future.

7.) New Armor - The new armor was truly ment to bring back feelings of nastolgia and to fit the landscape and people alike. Also, it isn't a common occurrence that they add an armor that is so far above the rest. Furthermore, the way I see it is, if one's smithing and enchanting skill is sufficient, one could easily improve the armor past the limit; I did.

To recap, I agree with many of the things you say, but did you mention the large number of Quests? Dungeons? People? Even the uniqueness of the landscape? These are all small things that we complain about, when we truly need to look at the larger picture. That is the map of Solstheim; it's a large picture! Anyway, I think the DLC is great, and given the circumstances, we need to thank Bethesda for actually giving is a historically withered, geographically correct, and simply beautiful recreation of Solstheim; not to mention the fact that they even gave us new armor, weapons, enchantments, spells, and powers!

Anyone with deep agreement or disagreement (or if they sparked anything in your mind) of my own thoughts, I ask you, please PM me to tell me what you think!

I agree with this guy the only thing I would add to it would be staff enchanting and that some of the weapons especially the 2 scimitars should have been unique but I really have liked all dlc released for skyrim so far I loved dawngaurd it added one of my favorite armors in the and I see it as a better knights of the nice( both of which added a new faction + some other stuff) and dragonborn in my opinion is a better shriving isles (the only thing db loses out in is land mass and it was not supposed to be that big so it makes sense)

Ok..OP don't care for the DLC...

But I want to know...

WTF was so bad about Horse Armor?

...it was $2, for crying out loud.
people complain cause you had to pay for it and what little it gave I liked it but hey really should have had all armor types and made it $5 that would have been a lot better.

They should have read what was actually in it first, then.

Agreed. I honestly wondered why people hated it so much when I got on these forums. It was cheap, and it was useful. Sure there were only two armor sets, but it was dirt cheap, and a hell of a lot better than the armor my horse had before...which was none.

OP, i think this DLC is the best ever. I think you were just expecting something else. It is not like anyone is making you buy it.

Edit:

Isn't it about time for this thread to be locked?

Spears: one of the dumbest things ever. "I'm going to kill you with my pointy stick! Watch out!" One of my least favorite weapons pre gunpowder era's. Ever. I'm glad Beth trolled everyones asses with this. Made me laugh.
As opposed to "I'm going to launch a pointy piece of wood at you" or "I'm going to smack you with the piece of metal" anything sounds stupid when you grossly simplify it like that. Spears are one of the most widely used and successful weapons in human history. Why? Because they're simple to make and deadly. And why are you glad? Even if you didn't use them, it at least would have added some new weapons to the game and given us the oppritunity for new classes and playstyles.

1. Dragon Riding, werebears and spears were not promised.
2. MORAG Tong used Chitin/netch armour primarily, be happy they have their own unique variation.
3. New armour shouldn't be better than Daedric.. but it can be if you want it to. Beyond stupid complaint.
4. Apocrypha isn't free-roam because it is a library and it would be totally garbage if it wasn't linear. See: Soul Cairn.
1. Dragon riding was in the trailer so you must be dumb
2. Be happy they gave us it? Yes we are just lucky they even gave use the DLC (sarcasm for this [censored]). You must be a midless kid that buys anything.
3. No you cant make any armor sets better than daedric if you improve them equally....If you dont understand that you must be retarted.

What YOU don't understand is that the MT used(or rather, use) Chitin armor, even back in MO this was the armor they used. So yes, it is nice that Beth at least made their version different, if only slightly. And the point on Daedric, NOTHING should be better than Daedric, Daedric equipment is TES' best tier equipment. It is made from the souls of Daedra(essentailly demons) for crying out loud!

He means free roam dragon riding, so with that context in mind, no they didn't. Uhm yeah, the Morag Tong were a nice addition considering their part was minor and they ALWAYS USED [censored] CHITIN. Who the [censored] cares? The level cap is the same for every armour. That's what I mean. So you take your ironic inability to spell "[censored]" and shove it up your ass.

Hahahaha - "retarted." Sweet, sweet irony.

Anyway, prior to Dragonborn I'd felt Skyrim's DLC had been completely underwhelming. So far I'm completely loving Dragonborn, though.

To call it the worst piece of Elder Scrolls DLC, or even to suggest it's among them, is absolutely asinine.
