Dwemer machine in dead guy's basemant? #2

Post » Mon Feb 04, 2013 8:51 am

one of the greatest games ever made!
Amen to that ;D but i have some interesting finds and theories to point out.

A: maybe we can use the wooden mask and insert the three new dragon priest masks inside of the sphere

B: The "fire from the deep" is the volcano across the sea and this fire burnt his house down and scarred the island, his friend came in after him to rescue him on his boat (now at the bottom of the ocean) and was murdered by bandits who stuffed him in the tunnel and the other man fled to his friends boat which was burned down by the volcano before he could escape (hence the burned ship in the bottom of the ocean with the dead body close by and the bandits remarking one getting away but "probably being killed by the ash spawn")

C: the fire from the deep on day 51 was really the ash spawn rising again and attacking his house and maybe the ash spawn spell will open it?

D: i dont know if this matters but i also noticed that if you go above ground and search about where the tunnel is underground youll notice where the bookcase starts is a mound above land showing his progress until theres a massive hill with some turned up rocks on top right above where the machine is, maybe we can get the excavation guy from raven rock to dig a hole down and uncover the sphere making an excavation site out of it. Idk but it sure is fun as hell making theories (this is when the community is strongest in my opinion is when were all helping eachother out trying to solve the nigh impossible).

No, but it is why the sun-symbol is prominent in Dwemer mythology.
The sun represents the departure of Magnus from the mortal plane.
The Dwemer, like most elves, see Creation as a trap and not as a gift and seek to escape it.
The sun symbolises this.
Sorry, that's what I meant.

Anyone try using the staff of Magnus? Maybe combined with a sun damage spell? Just throwing ideas out there?

I found the house and saw the entrance to the basemant but never actually went in thinking "I'll come back here later." Clearly I need to go back.

From what I saw in the Let's Play... video ... it certainly looks like something should come from that dwemer machine. There was way too much effort put into the journal, the letter and the bloodstained note for absolutely nothing to come of it.

Unless of course it's one big giant easter egg/troll move by Bethesda. Wouldn't put it past them. ;)

Thank you for the kind words, but I'm definitely intrigued by what the machine is for. But it's gotten to the point where I think it's for an unfinished quest.

I never put two and two together, you make good videos man keep it up. You should do a massive guide for every unique weapon and armor like mrmattyplays but actually complete it itd get you a ton of subscribers if properly advertised

Well tomorrow after I uploaded my Dragonborn let's play video I planned on doing some more Dragonborn guides. I really only do guides for the stuff that I consider worth it though. To do a guide on everything would take forever!

I think this is Beth's way of driving us insane.
I think we have a winner!

I think this is nothing more than an interesting site with no real purpose. Maybe Miak the Liar will know more...

Haha yeah im not much of a youtuber so i dont know too much about the time and such but you earned a subscriber and i find your videos alot easier to follow then most, i also watch your halo 4 and minecraft videos, my three favorite xbox games, you have good taste. but i didnt notice the humming sound from the machine before i watched your video while above ground maybe we dig down into the sphere? This object just seems to active to be an easter egg or unfinished quest.

I only noticed the sound because I was wearing a gaming headset. I doubt it has to do anything with digging a shovel up. And Solstheim is such a small island. Collectively I think we've all been everywhere and there is nothing on the actual island that relates to the machine. So I think it's just an unfinished quest. But still. Hrodulf's corpse is nowhere to be seen so has to be something.

I thought Hrodulf was the dead guy by the boat on the coast between Tel Miythrn and Ravens Rock

Very true, but im pretty sure his corpse is close to the fort frostmoths dock or so i hear. And i still find the shovel shovel typo weird i mean theyre a big franchise with a big game im sure they didnt do that on accident. But if its unfinished do you think well get an update or patch making the rest of it playable?

Is it? Because it's Hrodulf's house and the journal is written from Hrodulf's perspective. The journal does mention something about Solitude I think. Or the letter. Either or the Bjorn person and Hrodulf were lovers. Hrodulf told the Bjorn person not to come to Solstheim, but Bjorn came and that's the person who is dead in front of the machine. And Hrodulf is nowhere in sight of the house or machine even though Hrodulf discovered it.

I suppose it's possible if it is an unfinished quest for it to be finished in a later dlc. People keep on saying that dlcs aren't connected, which I understand, but while I was doing a vanilla Skyrim fetch quest it said somebody from Solstheim had been kidnapped, go to this cave, and take that person back to Solstheim. So I could see something adding on to it later. :)

Sorry if this has been suggested but has anyone tried activating with the blood extractor filled with all the different Mer blood from the Transmuting the Mundane quest on Skyrim on them?

That's how that door opened.
